Seepage and stress redistribution are the main factors affecting the stability of surrounding rock in high-pressure hydraulic tunnels.In this work,the effects of the seepage field were firstly simplified as a seepage factor acting on the stress field,and the equilibrium equation of high pressure inner water exosmosis was established based on physical theory.Then,the plane strain theory was used to solve the problem of elasticity,and the analytic expression of surrounding rock stress was obtained.On the basis of criterion of Norway,the influences of seepage,pore water pressure and buried depth on the characteristics of the stress distribution of surrounding rocks were studied.The analyses show that the first water-filling plays a decisive role in the stability of the surrounding rock; the influence of seepage on the stress field around the tunnel is the greatest,and the change of the seepage factor is approximately consistent with the logarithm divergence.With the effects of the rock pore water pressure,the circumferential stress shows the exchange between large and small,but the radial stress does not.Increasing the buried depth can enhance the arching effect of the surrounding rock,thus improving the stability. 展开更多

This paper describes the model speed and model In/Out (I/O) efficiency of the high-resolution atmospheric general circulation model FAMIL (Finite- volume Atmospheric Model of IAP/LASG) at the National Supercomputer Center in Tianjin, China, on its Tianhe-lA supercomputer platform. A series of three- model-day simulations were carried out with standard Aqua Planet Experiment (APE) designed within FAMIL to obtain the time stamp for the calculation of model speed, simulation cost, and model 1/O efficiency. The results of the simulation demonstrate that FAMIL has remarkable scalability below 3456 and 6144 cores, and the lowest simulation costs are 1536 and 3456 cores for 12.5 km and 6.25 krn resolutions, respectively. Furthermore, FAMIL has excellent I/O scalability and an efficiency of more than 80% on 6 I/Os and more than 99% on 1536 I/Os. 展开更多

The evaporating momentum force and the shear force acting on the meniscus of an evaporating and elongating bubble in flow boiling in microchannel have been investigated theoretically and numerically.The concept of the effective evaporation region and the theory of the liquid layer supplement between elongated bubble and microchannel are proposed,and the analytical expressions of the evaporating momentum force and shear force have been obtained.The relative importance of both forces has been determined by the method of magnitude analysis and numerical simulation.It has been found that the evaporating momentum force can always be neglected in analyzing the bubble elongation process and the motion law of meniscus of elongated bubble in microchannel flow boiling,but whether the shear force should be considered or not is determined by its relative order of magnitude and the particular conditions such as channel dimension and the operating conditions. 展开更多

A perturbation method of solu tion is obtained in terms of wall slope parameter and analytical expressions are derived for average velocity and stream function using Saffman slip condition. The effects of var ious relevant parameters on average velocity and stream line pattern have been studied. The aim of this study is to explain theoretically the role of ciliary motion on the transport of epididymal fluid through the ductus efferentes of the male reproductive track. For this purpose, a mathematical model has been developed for the flow of a non-Newtonian fluid in an axisymmetric tube due to metachronal wave of cilia motion for the more realistic consequences. Carreau viscous fluid model is considered to see the rheological effects on the pumping characteristics of the flow. Regular perturbation method has been employed to obtain the analytical expressions for the stream function, the velocity field and a relation between the pressure difference and the volume flow rate. It is found that the volume flow rate is influenced significantly by Weissenberg number We and the cilia length parameter ε. The computational results are presented graphically to see the effects of various physical parameters. Finally, the analysis is applied and compared with the observed value of the flow rate of spermatic fluid in the ductus efferentes of the male reproductive track. The volume flow rate is reported closed to the estimated value 6 × 10^-3 ml/h in the human ductus efferentes when We = 0.5 and e is near by 0.25. 展开更多

This work is related to the flow of a magnetohydrodynamic Burgers fluid.The flow of an incompressible conducting Burgers fluid in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field over a plate that is moved suddenly is considered.By the application of the Laplace and Fourier sine transforms techniques,the exact analytical expressions for the velocity field and associated shear stress are determined in simple forms.They are written as a sum of steady-state and transient solutions.The graphical results are plotted for different values of indispensable parameters and some interesting results are concluded.The corresponding solutions for the hydrodynamic Burgers fluid appear as the limiting cases of the obtained solutions. 展开更多

Study and verification on dispersion coefficient in wave field

Transport and diffusion caused by coastal waves have different characteristics from those induced by flows. Through solving the vertical diffusion equation by an analytic method, this paper infers a theoretical formula of dispersion coefficient under the combined action of current and waves. It divides the general dispersion coefficient into six parts, including coefficients due to tidal current, Stokes drift, wave oscillation and interaction among them. It draws a conclusion that the contribution of dispersive effect induced by coastal waves is mainly produced by Stokes drift, while the contributions to time-averaged dispersion coefficient due to wave orbital motion and interaction between current and waves are very small. The results without tidal current are in agreement with the numerical and experimental results, which proves the correctness of the theoretical derivation. This paper introduces the variation characteristics of both the time-averaged and oscillating dispersion coefficients versus relative water depth, and demonstrates the physical implications of the oscillating mixing coefficient due to waves. We also apply the results to the costal vertical circulation and give its characteristics compared to Stokes drift. 展开更多
