海水淡化副产浓海水的排放会对海洋生态环境产生不利影响乃至破坏,但其与河水间存在的盐差能可被利用,是一种可再生能源。反电渗析是可以有效将盐差能转化为电能的新型绿色发电技术。以浓海水和河水分别作为反电渗析的浓、淡室进料溶液... 海水淡化副产浓海水的排放会对海洋生态环境产生不利影响乃至破坏,但其与河水间存在的盐差能可被利用,是一种可再生能源。反电渗析是可以有效将盐差能转化为电能的新型绿色发电技术。以浓海水和河水分别作为反电渗析的浓、淡室进料溶液,基于国产亚德世膜,采用不同的隔板考察了膜间距离和流道类型对反电渗析性能的影响,并用进口富士膜进行了实验对比。结果表明:随着膜间距离的增大,膜堆开路电压和内阻增大,功率密度和离子迁移量减小;相同膜间距离下,直流道隔板的产电性能优于斜流道;采用富士膜的产电性能和离子迁移量影响规律与亚德世膜一致。综合考虑开路电压、功率密度和离子迁移量,选用0.85 mm的直流道隔板较优,功率密度为0.363 2 W/m^(2)。该研究为浓海水的科学利用提供了参考借鉴。 展开更多

Debris flows are one of the common natural hazards in mountainous areas.They often cause devastating damage to the lives and property of local people.The sabo dam construction along a debris flow valley is considered to be a useful method for hazard mitigation.Previous work has concentrated on the different types of sabo dams such as close-type sabo dam,open-type sabo dam.However,little attention has been paid to the spillway structure of sabo dam.In the paper,a new type of spillway structure with lateral contraction was proposed.Debris flow patterns under four different spillway structures were investigated.The projection theory was employed to predict trajectory of debris flow out from the spillway and to estimate the incident angle and terminal velocity before it plunged into the scour hole behind the sabo dam.The results indicated that the estimated data were in good agreement with the experimental ones.The discrepancy between the estimated and experimental values of main parameters remained below 21.82%(relative error).Additionally,the effects of debris flow scales under different spillway structures were considered to study the scour law.Although the debris flow pattern and scour law behind the sabo dam under different operating conditions was analyzed in this paper,further study on the scour mechanism andthe maximum scour depth estimation based on scour theory is still required in the future. 展开更多

Interannual variations of Pacific North Equatorial Current (NEC) transport during eastern- Pacific E1 Nifios (EP-EI Nifios) and central-Pacific E1 Nifios (CP-E1 Nifios) are investigated by composite analysis with European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast Ocean Analysis/Reanalysis System 3. During EP-E1 Nifio, NEC transport shows significant positive anomalies from the developing to decay phases, with the largest anomalies around the mature phase. During CP-EI Nifio, however, the NEC transport only shows positive anomalies before the mature phase, with much weaker anomalies than those during EP-El Nifio. The NEC transport variations are strongly associated with variations of the tropical gyre and wind forcing in the tropical North Pacific. During EP-E1 Nifio, strong westerly wind anomalies and positive wind stress curl anomalies in the tropical North Pacific induce local upward Ekman pumping and westward-propagating upwelling Rossby waves in the ocean, lowering the sea surface height and generating a cyclonic gyre anomaly in the western tropical Pacific. During CP-E1 Nifio, however, strength of the wind and associated Ekman pumping velocity are very weak. Negative sea surface height and cyclonic flow anomalies are slightly north of those during EP El Nino. 展开更多

River morphology has been a subject of great challenge to scientists and engineers who recognize that any effort with regard to river engineering must be based on a proper understanding of the morphological features involved and the responses to the imposed changes. In this paper, an overview of river morphology is presented from the geomorphic viewpoint. Included in the scope are the regime concept, river channel classification, thresholds in river morphology, and geomorphic analysis of river responses. Analytical approach to river morphology based on the physical principles for the hydraulics of flow and sediment transport processes is also presented. The application of analytical river morphology is demonstrated by an example. Modeling is the modern technique to determine both short-term and long-term river channel responses to any change in the environment. The physical foundation of fluvial process-response must be applied in formatting a mathematical model. A brief introduction of the mathematical model FLUVIAL-12 is described. 展开更多

For the realtime classification of moving vehicles in the multi-lane traffic video sequences, a length-based method is proposed. To extract the moving regions of interest, the difference image between the updated background and current frame is obtained by using background subtraction, and then an edge-based shadow removal algorithm is implemented. Moreover, a tbresholding segmentation method for the region detection of moving vehicle based on lo- cation search is developed. At the estimation stage, a registration line is set up in the detection area, then the vehicle length is estimated with the horizontal projection technique as soon as the vehicle leaves the registration line. Lastly, the vehicle is classified according to its length and the classification threshold. The proposed method is different from traditional methods that require complex camera calibrations. It calculates the pixel-based vehicle length by using uncalibrated traffic video sequences at lower computational cost. Furthermore, only one registration line is set up, which has high flexibility. Experimental results of three traffic video sequences show that the classification accuracies for the large and small vehicles are 97.1% and 96.7% respectively, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

The author surveys a few examples of boundary layers for which the Prandtl boundary layer theory can be rigorously validated.All of them are associated with the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for Newtonian fluids equipped with various Dirichlet boundary conditions(specified velocity).These examples include a family of(nonlinear 3D) plane parallel flows,a family of(nonlinear) parallel pipe flows,as well as flows with uniform injection and suction at the boundary.We also identify a key ingredient in establishing the validity of the Prandtl type theory,i.e.,a spectral constraint on the approximate solution to the Navier-Stokes system constructed by combining the inviscid solution and the solution to the Prandtl type system.This is an additional difficulty besides the wellknown issue related to the well-posedness of the Prandtl type system.It seems that the main obstruction to the verification of the spectral constraint condition is the possible separation of boundary layers.A common theme of these examples is the inhibition of separation of boundary layers either via suppressing the velocity normal to the boundary or by injection and suction at the boundary so that the spectral constraint can be verified.A meta theorem is then presented which covers all the cases considered here. 展开更多

To investigate the influence of impeller type on the performance and inner flow of centrifugal pump, the numeri- cal simulation and experimental research were carried out on the same centrifugal pump with straight-blade and curved-blade open impeller. Based on SIMPLEC algorithm, time-averaged N-S equation and the standard k-e turbulence model, the numerical results are obtained. The pressure distribution in the different type impellers is uniform, while the low pressure area in straight-blade inlet is larger. The vortexes in the passage of impeller exist in both cases. Relative to curved-blade impeller, there are larger vortexes in most of the flow passages except the passage near the tongue in straight-blade impeller. Also some small backflow regions are found at the blade inlet of two impellers. The characteristic curves achieved by numerical simulation basieaUy agree with those by experiment, and straight-blade open impeller centrifugal pump has a better hydraulic performance. 展开更多
