[Objective]The experiment aimed to study the effects of meteorological factors under different weather conditions on soil respiration. [ Method] The path analysis was used to analyze meteorological factors which influenced soil respiration of wheat field under different weather condition and at jointing stage. [ Result] In sunny day, the correlations between ground temperature at 5 cm, solar radiation, air relative humidity, air temperature and soil respiration were all at significant level while solar radiation and ground temperature at 5 cm were the major factors which influenced soil respiration. In cloudy day, solar radiation was a major factor which influenced soil respiration.[ Conclusion] The soil respiration and surplus path coefficient in sunny day were all higher than these in cloudy day, which demonstrated that except influenced by ground temperature, air temperature, solar radiation and air relative humidity, the soil respiration was also influenced by other factors especially biological factor. 展开更多

Using a simple and reliable apparatus, the solubilities of adipic acid in water, ethanol, chloroform, n-butanol and acetone are determined by the analytic method. The results are correlated with λh equation, Apelblat equation, and UNIFAC equation. Prediction of the state of roof collapse is a big challenge in tunnel engineering, while the limit analysis theory makes it possible to derive the analytical solutions of the collapse mechanisms. In this work, an exact solution of collapsing shape in shallow underwater tunnel is obtained by using the variation principle and the upper bound theorem based on nonlinear failure criterion. Numerical results under the effect of river water and supporting pressure are derived and discussed. The maximum water depth above the river bottom surface is determined under a given buried depth of shallow cavities and the critical depth of roof collapse is obtained under a constant river depth. In comparison with the previous results, the present solution shows a good agreement with the practical results. 展开更多

The Three Gorges Project of the Yangtze River is the largest hydropower-complex project under construction in the world. Under the largescale relocation projects, 2874 engineered slopes are formed along with the construction of new towns. In this paper, the cutting slopes are mainly soil slopes and rock slopes. Soil slopes include residual soil slopes, colluvial accumulation slopes, swelling soil slopes, and artificial earth fill slopes, etc. Rock slopes include blocky structure rock slopes, layer structure rock slopes, and clastic structure rock slopes, etc. Varied protection measures have been used for slope protection in the reservoir area including shotcrete concrete-anchor bars, frame beams, retaining walls, slope stabilizing piles, sheet-pile walls, anchorage anti-shear tunnels, flexible protection grids, and drainage, etc. Besides, slope deformation monitoring systems have been set up to monitor deformation failure and the stability state of slopes. The protection measures have guaranteed slope safety and maintained a harmony with the urban environment and surrounding landscape. 展开更多

Approaches in extracellular matrix engineering for determination of adhesion molecule mediated single cell function

The native extracellular matrix (ECM) and the cells that comprise human tissues are together engaged in a complex relationship; cells alter the composition and structure of the ECM to regulate the material and biologic properties of the surrounding environment while the composition and structure of the ECM modulates cellular processes that maintain healthy tissue and repair diseased tissue. This reciprocal relationship occurs via cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) such as integrins, selectins, cadherins and IgSF adhesion molecules. To study these celI-ECM interactions, researchers use two-dimensional substrates or three-dimensional matrices composed of native proteins or bioactive peptide sequences to study single cell function. While two-dimensional snbstrates provide valuable information about cell-ECM interactions, three-dimensional matrices more closely mimic the native ECM; cells cultured in three-dimensional matrices have demonstrated greater cell movement and increased integrin expression when compared to cells cultured on two-dimensional substrates. In this article we review a number of cellular processes (adhesion, motility, phagocytosis, differentiation and survival) and examine the cell adhesion molecules and ECM proteins (or bioactive peptide sequences) that mediate cell functionality. 展开更多
