The exception propagation graph (EPG) that describes the large programs with exception handling constructs is proposed by simplifying the control flow graph and it is applied to a case to verify its validity. According to the EPG, the exception handling code that never executes is identified; the points that are the most critical to controlling exception propagation are found; and the irrational exception handling code is corrected. The constructing algorithm for the EPG is given; thus, this provides a basis for automatically constructing the EPG and automatically correcting the irrational exception handling code.展开更多

In the testing procedure, the SuperpaveTM Bending Beam Rheometer (BBR) with special modifications and binder blending charts by Asphalt Institute were utilized. Modifications involved the development of a new kind of sample mold and different testing parameters were made to BBR testing procedure to capture the theological properties of bitumen mortars produced by mixing fresh binder with fine RAP materials or RAP aggregate. The stiffness relationship between binder and bitumen mortar was established based on the BBR test results. The blended binder stiffness in bitumen RAP mortar was estimated from the RAP mortar stiffness based on the binder-mortar relationship. And finally, the RAP binder stiffness was estimated from the blended binder and fresh binder stiffness based on the blending charts by Asphalt Institute. The results indicate that the new procedure can capture the rheological properties of bitumen mortar and can be used to estimate the low temperature stiffness of RAP binder without binder extraction and/or any chemical treatments.展开更多

The growing use of this class of measurement equipment has been accompanied by an absence of authorized laboratories to provide calibration certificates for its performance. Due to ASME B89.4.22 and VD12617-9 are nowadays the unique standards in the field of AACMM verification, IK4 Tekniker has compared both of them in order to develop internal test procedures to yield reliable performance calibration results. As a result, IK4 Tekniker has been recognized by the Spanish Accreditation Body (ENAC) in the field of AACMM calibration. Internal test procedures and uncertainty evaluation analysis have been developed as well as ENAC certificated reference test equipments have been acquired to ensure a suitable AACMM calibration process.展开更多

In this preliminary study, a quantitative investigation of the similarity in the basic photon and electron dosimetry data from the Siemens Oncor linear accelerators at our hospital(Children's Cancer Hospital, Cairo, Egypt) was reported. Methods: The output factor(OF), wedge factors(WF), percentage depth dose(PDD), and beam profile for the 6 and 10 MV photon beams were measured. Results: The measured output factors varied by less than about 1% for each field size. The difference between the maximum and minimum PDD values at each depth was less than about 1%. The difference between the beam flattnes and symetry was no more than 1% at all off-axis distances. For electron the results showed that the PDD, OF, and the beam profiles were matched within 1% differences. Conclusion: These results strongly suggest that it is feasible to establish one reference photon and electron dosimetry data set for the two machines and nominal energies.展开更多

In order to realize the effects of diesel oil on the Zhe oyster, the RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) technique was used. RAPD is a useful assay procedure for the detection of genotoxin-induced DNA damage and mutations. In the present study, the Zhe oysters were exposed to diesel oil at different concentrations and for different exposure periods. The results showed that the DNA band change in RAPD profiles of oysters following diesel oil treatment included loss of normal DNA bands, the appearance of new DNA bands and variations in DNA intensity compared to oysters not exposed to diesel oil. The effects of changes to GTS (genome template stability) were time- and concentration-dependent, the GTS of 10 mg/L was 82.46%, 80.70% and 63.15% in the 8, 16 and 32 days, the GTS of 20 mg/L was 75.44%, 71.93% and 56.14% in the 8, 16 and 32 days, the GTS of 40 mg/L was 73.68%, 70.18% and 56.14% in the 8, 16 and 32 days, respectively. The DNA polymorphisms detected by RAPD analysis could be used as a useful biomarker assay for the detection of genotoxic effects in diesel oil pollution on the oysters, and may be useful for environmental contamination risk assessment.展开更多

The procedures used in contemporary geotechnical earthquake engineering practice are generally based on simplified procedures for the evaluation of the liquefaction potential. The work describes a framework for performance-based earthquake engineering and its use in the development of a performance-based procedure for liquefaction hazard evaluation. The performance-based procedure will be used to show how consistent application of conventional procedures for evaluation of liquefaction potential can influence performance prediction. Implications for liquefaction-resistant design will also be discussed. The purpose is to summarize current procedures for practical prediction of liquefaction behavior, to describe recent advances in the understanding of liquefaction behavior, and to describe the incorporation of this improved understanding into new solutions for detailed modeling of soil liquefaction, Simplified procedures for evaluation of liquefaction hazards will be reviewed relatively briefly, with more details devoted to emerging knowledge about the mechanics of liquefiable soil behavior, and methods for incorporating those mechanics into improved models for performance prediction. In particular it focuses about the influence on the evaluation of Cyclic Resistance Ratio (CRR) by different in-situ tests (Cone Penetration Test (CPT). Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and Seismic Dilatometer Marchetti Test (SDMT)) and by different shear waves velocity measurements (Down Hole D-H. Cross Hole C-H, Seismic Dilatometer Marchetti Test SDMT).展开更多
