Suspended emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride was carried out in a 5 L autoclave. The influence of agitation, polymerization conversion, dispersant and surfactant on the average particle size (PS) and particle size distribution (PSD), particle morphology and porosity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin was investigated. It showed that the agitator had great influence on the smooth operation of polymerization, PS and PSD. The PS increased and PSD became narrow as polymerization conversion became high. The porosity decreased with the increase of conversion. A convenient choice of additives, both dispersants and non-ionic surfactants, allows one to adjust PS and PSD. The PS decreased with the addition of polyvinyl alcohol or hydroxypropyl methylcellulose dispersants,and increased with the addition of Span surfactants. The addition of dispersants or surfactants also affected the morphology and porosity of resin, and PVC resin with looser agglomeration and homogeneous distribution of primary particles was prepared. 展开更多

Parameters of the models are estimated by experimental data on reaction conversion and particle size distribution. In this paper, the surface imprinted cross-linked polystyrene beads were prepared via suspension polymerization with styrene (St), divinylbezene (DVB), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA1788), the mixture of Span 85 and xylene or the mixture of Span 85 and paraffin as monomer, cross-linking agent, dispersion stabilizer and templates, respectively. The results indicate that there are dense cavities on the surface of beads, and the diameter and density of cavity are related with the composition and amount of emulsion template. Doxorubicin-loaded nanoparticles, using doxorubicin (ADM) as model drug and vinylpyrrolidone as matrix, were prepared by inverse emulsion polymerization in the paper. The nanoparticles were characterized by telescope electron microscopy (TEM), laser light scattering technique (LLS) and infrared spectrum (IR). LLS test showed that the optimal prepared ADM-loaded nanoparticles had an average size 18.8nm and a narrow size distribution between 15nm and 32nm, which was consistent with the result obtained by TEM. And 1R results indicated that the nanoparticles consisted of ADM and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). 展开更多
