The composition and structure of soil seed banks were analyzed between the microhabitats by using functional group method. The distribution patterns of soil seed bank were also analyzed between the microhabitats. We also analyzed the relationship between seed size and seed persistence in soil. The results show greatly spatial heterogeneity existed in soil seed bank of the Mediterranean coastal sand dune, even in the same microhabitats seed distribution was uneven. Sometimes a great difference occurred between them. Microhabitats significantly affected the distribution patterns of total soil seed banks and seed banks of the functional groups. The open area generally had the greater densities of seeds, but the seed densities under shrub and in trail were lower than that in the open area. Legumes seeds accounted for 76.0% total persistent seed banks. Annual and perennial grasses produced transient seed banks as no seeds were retrieved from the sieved soils. Seed persistence of legumes, umbeliferaes, perennial forbs, compositaes, annual forbs, crucifer decreased gradually. They were 50.1%, 45.6%, 40.6%, 6.3%, 5.6% and 0.6% respectively in the soil. There was a positive relationship between seed size and seed persistence. Bigger seeds had higher persistence, and vice versa.展开更多

A model is the generalization and abstraction of objective things. This paper summarizes four methods for the landform development of the tidal shore and underwater delta, mainly discusses the model’s structural elements, and presents their specific application on the basis of the authors’ case study. With the application of the profile model, the dynamic change of coastal landform can be clearly seen by contrasting the different profiles of different years. Through the shrinking, expanding and transformation of the isobath, plane model is used to study the macro-change of the shoal and the coastal landform. Speed model is an efficient means to analyze the trend of erosion and deposition and the local change in a great area of the sea. Statistical survey model is a static analysis, which can be used to establish the relationship between the erosion and deposition of the shoal and the altitude and slope of survey spot.展开更多

A proper fertilizer and crop management practices are required. An attempt was made to convert this land into a sustainable production land for pineapple. Therefore, the objective of the study was to determine the effect of foliar copper fertilizer on the growth and fruit quality of pineapple cv. N36, for fresh consumption planted in Entisol type BRIS soil at the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The complete randomized design (CRD) method with three replications was used at 0 to 6.6 kg.ha^-1 of copper sulfate. Results demonstrated that the unpleasant effect of BRIS soil on brix value was restored with copper fertilizer. The most suitable quantity of foliar copper fertilizer for pineapple cv. N36 planted in Entisol type BRIS are between 1.6 to 3.3 kg.ha^-1 of copper sulfate.展开更多
