Equilibrium swelling degree (SD) and fixed charge density in both organic solutions and water were also determined. Ethylene glycol, ethanol, n-propanol and glycerol were used as organic solutes; meanwhile 0.001mol-dm^-3 aqueous KCl solution was utilized as a strong electrolyte to measure the electrical difference. Equilibrium swelling degree indicated that it could be affected by the density of organic solutes; while it enhanced with the increasing density of these solutes. The measurement of fixed charge density showed that the membrane had the maximal absolute value in water among these solvents whether for cationic or anionic groups; the difference of dielectric constant between the water and the organic solutes might be responsible for these change trends. It was confirmed that membrane potentials increased with both the increasing concentration of the organic solutions and the elevated pH values. These results demonstrated that the characteristics of the hybrid charged mosaic membrane could be highly impacted by the properties of the organic solutes. A theoretical modal for charged membranes in ternary ion systems of weak electrolyte can be used to explain the above-mentioned phenomena.展开更多

This research addresses the modelling of fibre deposition in the forming unit of an industrial papermachine, assuming a filtration process, and that of the flowing suspension drained through the building fibre mat and the wire on a suction box. From experimental data of the cumulative drained V volume, per unit surface area, for two vacuum pressures △P and 6 dwell times t, an extension of the classical law (t/V) versus V is proposed, validated and applied. This relation enables determining the average specific filtration resistance of the fibre mat over the box and the mass of solids deposited before and over the suction box. The model obtained is as precise as 1% and can be used to limit and reduce the energy consumption of drainage vacuum assisted devices such as suction boxes in the forming unit of industrial papermachines.展开更多

Discussion will focus on different models obtained from data synchronized measurements for operational and automatic emergency control without EPS being totally controlled. According to the proposed technology, the generator's output power restrictions are determined in real-time by the terms a static stability using the generators' mode model as a multipole with connection nodes of generators' electromotive forces (the matrix of SMA (self and mutual admittances) of electromotive forces of generators). Potential applications of the technology are distribution network with the main substation and generators of commensurable capacity, and transmission network with large power plants (generators) distributed into the network. The one-level control system for all of generators with defining the generator's power limits relative to the main substation is implemented in the first case. In the second case, the two-level control system is brought in, based on the separation of large and small generation motion. The results of the method and technology efficiency verification are shown in the paper, by both computer simulations of the power system modes and its physical model.展开更多
