The results revealed that the recrystallized grains of the alloy after the solution treatment with hot air became smaller and more uniform, compared with solution treatment with electrical resistance. The texture of the alloy after two solution treatment methods was different. More rotated cube components were formed through solution treatment with electrical resistance, which was better for improving the drawability of the alloy. The strength of the alloy under the solution treatment with hot air was higher before stamping, because of the small uniform grains and many clusters in the matrix. The alloy solution treated with hot air also possessed good bake hardenability, because the transformation occurred on more clusters in the matrix.展开更多

It contains about 60% sugars and 18% lignin. The purpose of this research is to find pretreatment process to fractionate cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin from switch grass to obtain much more useful chemicals and enhance the residue solid to be hydrolyzed by enzymes. The six different pretreatment methods were studied, such as hot water pretreatment (HWP) alone, dilute acid pretreatment (DAP), ammonia pretreatment (AP), lime pretreatment (LP), organosolv water / ehanol pretreatment (OWEP), and organosolv water / acetone pretreatment (OWAP). It was the best method combining DAP with OWEP because the hemicellulose sugars were recovered in the first residual liquid while a varied amount of cellulose was retained in the residual solid and the lignin fraction was obtained by simply adjusting the pH from the second liquid. The result shows the optimal two-stage process consisted of the first stage DAP at 428 K for 7 min with 0.8% sulfuric acid, resulting in 79.82% glucose recovery yield and 98.74% xylose removal and the second stage OWEP at 468K for 20 min in 45% (v / v) ethanol with 0.4% NaOH, resulting in 62% total glucose yield 99% xylose and 80% lignin removal. After enzymatic hydrolysis, the glucose yield was up to 92.6%, compared with 16% yield from untreated switch grass. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) highlighted the differences in switch grass structure from the various pretreatment methods during biomass fractionation.展开更多

Because the NIO is a region susceptible to aerosols emis- sion changes, and there are still large uncertainties in the representation of the aerosol indirect effect (ALE) in CMIP5 (Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5) models, it is necessary to investigate the role of the AIE in the NIO warming simulated by these models. In this study, the authors select seven CMIP5 models with both the aerosol direct and indirect effects to investigate their performance in simulating the basin-wide decadal-scale NIO warming. The results show that the decreasing trend of the downwelling shortwave flux (FSDS) at the surface has the major damping effect on the SST increasing trend, which counteracts the warming effect of greenhouse gases (GHGs). The FSDS decreasing trend is mostly contrib- uted by the decreasing trend of cloudy-sky surface downwelling shortwave flux (FSDSCL), a metric used to measure the strength of the AIE, and partly by the clear-sky surface downwelling shortwave flux (FSDSC). Models with a relatively weaker AIE can simulate well the SST increasing trend, as compared to observation. In contrast, models with a relatively stronger AIE produce a much smaller magnitude of the increasing trend, indicat- ing that the strength of the AIE in these models may be overestimated in the NIO.展开更多

METHODS: The rat models of NAFLD were established with high-fat diet (HFD) for 10 weeks. Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: the control group, the model group, the decoction group and the solution group, 8 for each group. From the 6th week, drinking water, the decoction and the solution were intragastrically administrated accordingly to the rats for 5 weeks. The pathological changes of the liver tissues were observed with Hematoxylin and eosin staining, triglyceride levels in liver tissues measured, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activity measured, and serum gastrin and motilin tested. RESULTS: Fatty degeneration and vacuole-like changes to various degrees occurred in hepaticcells of the model group. Indicators for fat metabolism, serum ALT activity and hepatic triglyceride level significantly increased, while serum gastrin and motilin levels significantly decreased. Serum ALT activity and the fatty deposition in hepatocytes were significantly reduced. In the meantime, the expressions of gastrin and motilin in the serum rose significantly in the treatment groups. CONCLUSION: Both the decoction and the extracts-mixed solution had effect on NAFLD of protecting the liver function and reducing the fatty deposition in liver, which might be achieved by regulating the expression of gastrin and motilin.展开更多
