The results reveal that the flow stress of the alloy exhibits a continuous flow softening behavior at low temperatures of 320?390 °C, whereas it reaches steady state at high temperatures (≥460°C), which are influenced greatly by the Zener?Hollomon parameter (Z) in the hyperbolic sine with the hot deformation activation energy of 325.12 kJ/mol. Microstructure characterizations show that prominent dynamic recrystallization and coarsening of dynamic precipitation may be responsible for the continuous flow softening behavior. Due to deformation heating at high strain rates (≥1 s?1), dynamic recrystallization is more prominent in the specimen deformed at 530 °C and 10 s?1 than in the specimen deformed at 460 °C and 0.1 s?1 even though they have very close lnZ values.展开更多

Compression tests were preformed in the temperature range of 653-773 K and in the strain rate range of 0.001-10 s-1 up to a true plastic strain of 0.7. The results indicate that the flow stress of the alloy increases with increasing strain rate at a given temperature, and decreases with increasing temperature at a given imposed strain rate. The relationship between the flow stress and the strain rate and the temperature was derived by analyzing the experimental data. The flow stress is in a hyperbolic sine relationship with the strain rate, and in an Arrhenius relationship with the temperature, which imply that the process of plastic deformation at an elevated temperature for this material is thermally activated. The flow stress of the alloy during the elevated temperature deformation can be represented by a Zener-Hollomon parameter with the inclusion of the Arrhenius term. The values of n,α and A in the analytical expressions of flow stress σ are fitted to be 5.62,0.019 MPa-1 and 1.51×1016 s-1,respectively. The hot deformation activation energy is 240.85 kJ/mol.展开更多

文摘The hot deformation behavior of as-cast Mg-8Zn-1Al-0.5Cu-0.5Mn alloy was studied by hot compression tests at temperatures of 200-350 °C and strain rates of 0.001-1 s-1.The results show that the flow stress increases significantly with increasing strain rate, and decreases as the temperature increases. The flow stress model based on the regression analysis was developed to predict the flow behavior of Mg-8Zn-1Al-0.5Cu-0.5Mn alloy during the hot compression, and the model shows a good agreement with experimental results.Meanwhile, the processing maps were established according to the dynamic materials model. The processing maps show that the increase of strain enlarges the instability domains, and the alloy shows good hot workability at high temperatures and low strain rates.

文摘The flow behavior and microstructure evolution of 6A82 aluminum alloy (Al?Mg?Si?Cu) with high copper content were studied on a Gleeble?1500 system by isothermal hot compression test in the temperature range from 320 to 530 °C and the strain rate range from 0.001 to 10 s?1. Due to deformation heating at high strain rates (≥1 s?1), dynamic recrystallization is more prominent in the specimen deformed at 530 °C and 10 s?1 than in the specimen deformed at 460 °C and 0.1 s?1 even though they have very close lnZ values.

文摘In order to have a better understanding of the hot deformation behavior of the as-solution-treated Mg-4 Zn-2 Sn-2 Al(ZAT422) alloy, a series of compression experiments with a height reduction of 60% were performed in the temperature range of 498-648 K and the strain rate range of 0.01-5 s~(-1) on a Gleeble 3800 thermo-mechanical simulator. Based on the regression analysis by Arrhenius type equation and Avrami type equation of flow behavior, the activation energy of deformation of ZAT422 alloy was determined as 155.652 k J/mol, and the constitutive equations for flow behavior and the dynamic recrystallization(DRX) kinetic model of ZAT422 alloy were established. Microstructure observation shows that when the temperature is as low as 498 K, the DRX is not completed as the true strain reaches 0.9163. However, with the temperature increasing to 648 K, the lower strain rate is more likely to result in some grains' abnormal growth.

文摘Hot compression tests of the extruded 7075Al/15%SiC (volume fraction) particle reinforced composite prepared by spray deposition were performed on Gleeble?1500 system in the temperature range of 300?450 °C and strain rate range of 0.001?1 s?1. The results indicate that the true stress?true strain curve almost exhibits rapid flow softening phenomenon without an obvious work hardening, and the stress decreases with increasing temperature and decreasing strain rate. Moreover, the stress levels are higher at temperature below 400 °C but lower at 450 °C compared with the spray deposited 7075Al alloy. Superplastic deformation characteristics are found at temperature of 450 °C and strain rate range of 0.001?0.1 s?1 with corresponding strain rate sensitivity of 0.72. The optimum parameters of hot working are determined to be temperature of 430?450 °C and strain rate of 0.001?0.05 s?1 based on processing map and optical microstructural observation.
文摘A new phenomenological and empirically-based constitutive model was proposed to modify the term in the original Johnson−Cook constitutive model. The new model can be used to describe and predict the flow stress of AA1070 aluminum with different initial grain sizes in the hot working process. This developed model considers thermal softening,strain-rate hardening, strain hardening, initial grain size, and interactions with each other and can correctly model the behavior of AA1070 at elevated temperature with different strains, strain rates, and initial grain sizes. The hot flow behavior of AA1070 was investigated through compression tests over wide ranges of temperature from 623 to 773 K,strain rate from 0.005 to 0.5 s−1 and initial grain size from 50 to 450μm.Results show that the initial grain size has a significant effect on the flow behavior of AA1070.Then,correlation coefficient(R),average absolute relative error(AARE),and relative error were examined for comparative predictability of the model. Results show that flow stresses for different initial grain sizes calculated by the new proposed model perfectly correlate with experimental ones, with a mean relative error of 1.19%,which confirms that the new modified Johnson−Cook relation can give a precise estimation of the hot flow stress of AA1070 aluminum by considering the initial grain size.

文摘The hot deformation behaviors of GCr15 bearing steel were investigated by isothermal compression tests, performed on a Gleeble-3800 thermal-mechanical simulator at temperatures between 950 ℃ and 1 150 ℃ and strain rates between 0.1 and 10 s-1. The peak stress and peak strain as functions of processing parameters were obtained. The dependence of peak stress on strain rate and temperature obeys a hyperbolic sine equation with a Zener-Hollomon parameter. By regression analysis, in the temperature range of 950-1 150 ℃ and strain rate range of 0.1?10 s?1, the mean activation energy and the stress exponent were determined to be 351kJ/mol and 4.728, respectively. Meanwhile, models of flow stress and dynamic recrystallization (DRX) grain size were also established. The model predictions show good agreement with experimental results.

文摘To realize numerical simulation of rolling and obtain the hot forming process parameters for X70 HD steel, the flow stress behaviors of X70 HD steel were investigated under different temperatures(820-1100 ℃ and strain rates(0.01-10 s-1) on a Gleeble-3500 thermo-simulation machine. A new flow stress model was established. The linear and exponential relationship methods were applied to the parameters with respect to temperature and deformation rates. The rise of curve ends under certain conditions was analyzed. The flow stress of X70 HD steel predicted by the proposed model agrees well with the experimental results. So, it greatly improves the precision of the metal thermoplastic processing through finite element method and practical application of engineering.

文摘The hot deformation behavior of Al?6.2Zn?0.70Mg?0.30Mn?0.17Zr alloy was investigated by isothermal compressiontest on a Gleeble?3500machine in the deformation temperature range between623and773K and the strain rate range between0.01and20s?1.The results show that the flow stress decreases with decreasing strain rate and increasing deformation temperature.Basedon the experimental results,Arrhenius constitutive equations and artificial neural network(ANN)model were established toinvestigate the flow behavior of the alloy. The calculated results show that the influence of strain on material constants can berepresented by a6th-order polynomial function. The ANN model with16neurons in hidden layer possesses perfect performanceprediction of the flow stress. The predictabilities of the two established models are different. The errors of results calculated by ANNmodel were more centralized and the mean absolute error corresponding to Arrhenius constitutive equations and ANN model are3.49%and1.03%,respectively.In predicting the flow stress of experimental aluminum alloy, the ANN model has a betterpredictability and greater efficiency than Arrhenius constitutive equations.

文摘This study presents experimental and numerical investigations of simply supported steel reinforced concrete(RC)beams under fire. The temperature field of cross sections, the vertical deflection at mid-span,and specifically the axial expansion displacement at beam-ends were measured during the fire tests.A novel finite element(FE)model of a RC beam under fire was developed,in which the water loss in the heat transfer analysis and the concrete transient strain in the mechanical analysis were considered.Based on the validated FE model proposed in this study, parametric studies were conducted to investigate the effects of the beam type, the protective layer thickness, and the load ratio on the thermal and mechanical behavior of simply supported RC beams. It was found that greater fire resistance and fire performance of girder beams in comparison to secondary beams contributed to the non-structural reinforcements, which effectively compensated for the reduced tensile capacities of structural reinforcements because of the degradation of the material properties. In addition, the history of normal stress distributions of concrete under fire can be divided into three phases:expansion, stress redistribution and plateau phases.

文摘The flow stress behavior of Al-3.5Cu-1.5Li-0.25(Sc+Zr) alloy during hot compression deformation was studied by isothermal compression test using Gleeble-1500 thermal-mechanical simulator. The hot deformation activation energy is 240.85 kJ/mol.

文摘The characteristics of hot deformation of an α+β titanium alloy Ti-6.5Al-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si with acicular microstructure were studied using isothermal hot compressive tests in a strain rate range of 0.01-10 s^-1 at 860-1 100 ℃. The true stress-tree strain curves of alloy hot-compressed in the α+β region exhibit a peak stress followed by continuous flow softening; whereas in the β region, the flow stress attains a steady-state regime. At a strain rate of 10 s^-1 and in a wide temperature range, the alloy exhibits plastic flow instability. According to the kinetic rate equation, the apparent activation energies are estimated to be about 633 kJ/mol in the α+β region and 281 kJ/mol in the β region, respectively. The processing maps show a domain of the globularization process of a colony structure and α dynamic recrystallization in the temperature range of 860-960 ℃ with a peak efficiency of about 60%, and a domain of β dynamic recrystallization in the β region with a peak efficiency of 80%.
