To investigate the principles of differentiation and prescription of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment for cancerous fever by logistic stepwise regression and literature investigation,the following databases ...To investigate the principles of differentiation and prescription of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment for cancerous fever by logistic stepwise regression and literature investigation,the following databases were searched(from inception to June 30th 2016):CNKI,CSPD,CBM,PubMed,MEDLINE,EMBASE.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,literatures about TCM in the treatment of cancerous fever were screened.The frequency about cancerous fever of differential syndrome types,formulas and herbs were analyzed by logistic multiple regression analysis.The model about syndrome types and formula application of cancerous fever was established.The result showed formula prescriptions used most frequently were Qing-Hao-Bie-Jia decoction,Xiao-Chai-Hu decoction,Xue-Fu-Zhu-Yu decoction,Bai-Hu decoction,San-Ren decoction.The main syndrome types of cancerous fever were as follows:Toxic heat flourishing type,Yin deficiency type,Stagnation of damp-heat type,Qi-Yin deficiency type,Liver meridian depressed-heat type,Blood stasis type and Yang deficiency type.Based on regression equation of the syndrome types,the corresponding herbs of this seven syndrome types were Radix Bupleuri,Radix Paeoniae Alba and Scutellaria Baicalensis Georgi;Radix Bupleuri and Cortex Moutan;Radix Paeoniae Rubra and Radix Angelicae Sinensis;Rhizoma Pinelliae,Cortex Lycii Radicis and Radix Paeoniae Alba;Herba Artemisiae Annuae,Gypsum Fibrosum and Poria Cocos;Rhizoma Anemarrhenae,Scutellaria Baicalensis Georgi and Radix Codonopsis;Radix Bupleuri respectively.The results of Logistic regression analysis and frequency of herbs statistics can provide reference for differentiation and treatment of cancerous fever in clinical.展开更多

Sea cucumber Stichopus japonicus was heated at 25℃, 70℃ and 100℃ water for 5 min. The structural changes were observed using a light microscope and the rheological parameters (rupture strength, adhesive strength and deformation) determined using a texture meter. Microscopic photograph revealed that the structural change of heated meat was greater than that of raw meat. The rupture strength, adhesive strength and deformation of raw meat were smaller than those of the heated meat. Meanwhile, rheological parameters showed positive correlation with heating temperature. These changes are mainly caused by thermal denaturation and gelatinization of collagen during heating. These changes were also evidenced in observations using a light microscope and differential scanning calorimetry.展开更多
Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)was used to investigate the thermal decomposition and thermal safety characteristics of Shuangfang-3(SF-3)gun propellant.The kinetic calculation of the DSC curve was carried out b...Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)was used to investigate the thermal decomposition and thermal safety characteristics of Shuangfang-3(SF-3)gun propellant.The kinetic calculation of the DSC curve was carried out by Kissinger and Friedman models,and the time to the maximum rate under adiabatic conditions and the self-accelerating decomposition temperature were calculated by using the AKTS thermal analysis software in combination with the heat balance equation.The thermal history experiment was carried out to further analyze the autocatalytic properties of SF-3.The results show that the initial decomposition temperature,decomposition peak temperature,and decomposition completion temperature of SF-3 all move to the high temperature direction with the increase of heating rate,and the average decomposition heat is 1521.4 J/g.The kinetic model showcased that SF-3 has different reactions in different reaction stages,and its apparent activation energy is 168.2 kJ/mol.When the times to maximum rate under adiabatic conditions are 2.0 h,4.0 h,8.0 h,24.0 h,respectively,the corresponding temperatures are 130.7℃,124.8℃,119.2℃and 110.5℃,respectively.When the masses are 5.0 kg,15.0 kg,25.0 kg,50.0 kg,100.0 kg,respectively,the corresponding self-accelerating decomposition temperatures are 110.0℃,105.0℃,102.0℃,99.0℃and 96.0℃,respectively.As the packaging mass increases,it is more difficult to exchange the liberated heat into the surrounding environment and its safety would be further reduced.The thermal history experiment demonstrates that the thermal decomposition of SF-3 is an n-stage reaction and does not have autocatalytic properties.Therefore,the size and ventilation conditions of the sample have a certain impact on the storage stability of SF-3.In the actual production,usage,storage and transportation,sample size and ventilation conditions should be controlled,and practical and effective measures should be taken according to the actual situation.展开更多

In this study, the amorphous forms of ketoprofen and flurbiprofen were obtained by supercooling of the melt in a DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) apparatus and then investigated, especially under the stability point of view. The average rate of molecular motions at any given temperature is probably the most important parameter to know for amorphous pharmaceutical materials, and it was used to explain and predict the stability of ketoprofen and flurbiprofen. A quantitative estimate of the product's behaviour upon storage is obtained with additional data, such as the heat capacity of crystalline and amorphous samples and the distribution of molecular relaxation times. Amorphous flurbiprofen demonstrated greater physical stability at any aging temperature tested, when compared to ketoprofen and a different dependence from aging temperature. Both amorphous drugs could he classified as "fragile" ones.展开更多

To address this issue,...Thermosensitive drug delivery systems (DDSs) face major challenges, such as remote and repeatable control of in vivo temperature, although these can increase the therapeutic efficacy of drugs. To address this issue, we coated near- infrared (NIR) photothermal Cu175S nanocrystals with pH/thermos-sensitive polymer by in situ polymerization. The doxorubicine (DOX) loading content was up to 40 wt.%, with less than 8.2 wt.% of DOX being leaked under normal physiological conditions (pH = 7.4, 37 ~C) for almost 48 h in the absence of NIR light. These nanocapsules demonstrate excellent photothermal stability by continuous long- term NIR irradiation. Based on the stable and high photothermal efficiency (55.8%), pre-loaded drugs were released as desired using 808-nm light as a trigger. Both in vitro and in vivo antitumor therapy results demonstrated that this smart nanoplatform is an effective agent for synergistic hyperthermia-based chemotherapy of cancer, demonstratin~ remote and noninvasive control.展开更多
With the development and rising of antimicrobial resistance,rapid and effective killings of bacteria are urgently needed,especially for antibiotic-resistant bacteria and bacterial biofilms that are usually hard to be ...With the development and rising of antimicrobial resistance,rapid and effective killings of bacteria are urgently needed,especially for antibiotic-resistant bacteria and bacterial biofilms that are usually hard to be treated with conventional antibiotics.Here,a rapid and broad-spectrum antibacterial strategy is demonstrated through photothermal ablation with MXene and light.Ti3C2 MXenes,when combined with 808 nm light,show significant antibacterial effects in just 20 min.The antibacterial strategy is effective to 15 bacterial species tested,including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)and vancomycin-resistant Enterococci(VRE).In addition,the rapid antibacterial strategy works for MRSA biofilms,by damaging the structures as well as killing bacteria in biofilms.Furthermore,the investigation of the antibacterial mechanisms shows that Ti3C2 with light kills bacteria mainly physically through inserting/contact and photothermal effect.This work broadens the potential applications of MXene and provides a way to eradicate bacteria and biofilms physically,without the likelihood of resistance development.展开更多
