极盖区等离子体云块近十年研究进展

极盖区等离子体云块是一种经常出现在极区电离层F层的高密度块状结构,其电子密度一般是背景电子密度的两倍及以上,水平尺度约为100~1000 km.极盖区等离子体云块的产生及演化过程可以示踪磁层-电离层/热层耦合过程中的能量及动量传输过程... 极盖区等离子体云块是一种经常出现在极区电离层F层的高密度块状结构,其电子密度一般是背景电子密度的两倍及以上,水平尺度约为100~1000 km.极盖区等离子体云块的产生及演化过程可以示踪磁层-电离层/热层耦合过程中的能量及动量传输过程.同时,这种电子密度不均匀体(尤其是其边沿区域)对跨极盖区的无线电波传播具有很强的干扰,经常影响无线电通讯导航定位等应用.因而,极盖区等离子体云块研究不仅是空间物理领域的热点问题,而且也是空间天气监测及准确预报等应用的重要基础.本文简述了近十年来极盖区等离子体云块的研究进展,主要内容包括:概括了极盖区等离子体云块几种可能的形成机制;提出了极盖区冷/热等离子体云块的分类研究;统计了极盖区等离子体云块的时空分布特征及其对外部条件的依赖性;追踪了极盖区等离子体云块的完整演化过程;最后,讨论了极盖区等离子体云块引起的离子上行现象及电离层闪烁效应. 展开更多

白面石地区有着得天独厚的铀成矿地质背景,经1960—1980年代勘查,曾提交了白面石大型铀矿田,成为了我国重要的铀资源基地。该区的铀矿化主要赋存在中侏罗世白面石火山盆地盖层底部的砂岩中,前人将其成因类型定为沉积砂岩型铀矿床,从此... 白面石地区有着得天独厚的铀成矿地质背景,经1960—1980年代勘查,曾提交了白面石大型铀矿田,成为了我国重要的铀资源基地。该区的铀矿化主要赋存在中侏罗世白面石火山盆地盖层底部的砂岩中,前人将其成因类型定为沉积砂岩型铀矿床,从此结束了该区的铀矿找矿工作。因此,30多年来,该区的铀矿成因及其发展潜力成为了众多铀矿工作者的研究课题。近年来,作者在重新整理该区资料的基础上,广泛搜集了矿田内同位素定年最新成果,认为:白面石铀矿田是在富铀基底花岗岩的风化,使铀活化迁移形成高铀砂岩层,是成矿的基础;到中侏罗世在盆地内砂岩沉积的同时,发生了双峰式火山岩喷溢,玄武岩覆盖在高铀砂岩层之上,起着热盖和封闭作用,使铀聚积成矿,是成矿的关键;后期的次火山岩的侵入,带来的热源,再次使铀活化加富了脉岩两侧砂岩中铀的矿化。为此,其成因类型应为成岩成矿,火山热盖,脉岩迭加的火山热盖亚型铀矿。显然,白面石地区还有极大的找矿潜力,今后的找矿方向不仅是在残留盆地砂岩的铀矿,尤其是要寻找盆地基底花岗岩中和火山机构中的富矿。 展开更多

High-temperature corrosion is a serious problem for the water-wall tubes of boilers used in thermal power plants. Oxidation, sulfidation and molten salt corrosion are main corrosion ways.Thereinto, the most severe corrosion occurs in molten salt corrosion environment. Materials rich in oxides formers, such as chromium and aluminum, are needed to resist corrosion in high-temperature and corrosive environment, but processability of such bulk alloys is very limited. High velocity electric arc spraying (HVAS) technology is adopted to produce coatings with high corrosion resistance. By comparison, NiCr (Ni-45Cr-4Ti) is recommended as a promising alloy coating for the water-wall tubes, which can even resist molten salt corrosion attack. In the study of corrosion mechanism, the modern material analysis methods, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), are used. It is found that the corrosion resistances of NiCr and FeCrAI coatings are much better than that of 20g steel, that the NiCr coatings have the best anti-corrosion properties, and that the NiCr coatings have slightly lower pores than FeCrAI coatings.It is testified that corrosion resistance of coatings is mainly determined by chromium content, and the microstructure of a coating is as important as the chemical composition of the material. In addition, the fracture mechanisms of coatings in the cycle of heating and cooling are put forward. The difference of the thermal physical properties between coatings and base metals results in the thermal stress inside the coatings. Consequently, the coatings spall from the base metal. 展开更多

WT8.BZ]The effects of postgrowth rapid thermal annealing have been studied on the optical properties of 3-nm-height InAs/GaAs quantum dots covered by 3-nm-thick In xGa 1-x As (x=0,0 1 and 0 2) overgrowth layer.At a higher annealing temperature (T≥750℃),the photoluminescence peak of InGaAs layer has been observed at the lower-energy side of InAs quantum-dot peak.In addition,a similar blueshift in photoluminescence (PL) emission energy is observed for all samples when the annealing temperature increases from 650 to 850℃.However,the trend of photoluminescence linewidth towards narrowing is totally different for InAs quantum dots with different In mole fraction in InGaAs overgrowth layer.The results suggest that the intermixing in the lateral direction plays an important role in obtaining a better understanding of the modification of optical properties induced by the rapid thermal annealing. 展开更多

The oxidation and lower temperature hot corrosion (LTHC) processes occurring on the surface of Ni-Cr coatings pro-duced by high velocity arc spray (HVAS) were studied. Several different conditions were studied under simulated boiler conditions at 650 ℃. The protection effect of an Al coating deposited by HVAS onto the Ni-Cr coating was also investigated. Microscope, X-ray diffraction and corrosion rate curves have been used to analyze corrosion mechanisms. The experimental results show that: 1) The oxidation rates are almost superposed in both air (no SO3) and in simulated coal-fired gas (containing SO3) as long as no salt was present on the surface. These rate curves show a logarithmic relationship. 2) When the surface is coated with salt (75%K2SO3 + 25%Na2SO3) the rate curve for LTHC of the Ni-Cr coated surface shows a parabolic shape in the simulated coal-fire flue gas. In air only the oxidation reaction takes place, the second type of LTHC was not seen. And 3) the Al over coating on the Ni-Cr enhances resistance to LTHC because an inter-metallic compound, Al3Ni2, forms at the Al/Ni-Cr interface and because of the increase in coating thickness. 展开更多

The main aims of this paper were to study and demonstrate the benefits the plant systems can provide indoors in a critical heat day. This study proposed an experimental method to try to understand the thermal response to heat of four different systems: a prototype called control (no vegetation) and three with different combinations of vegetation (green roofs and green facades) installed in a tropical climate region. The experiments were developed in four test cells with dimensions 2.0 m × 2.50 m× 2.71 m. Measurements of internal surface temperatures and internal air temperatures were collected with the use of specific equipment, a data logger (CR1000, Campbell Scientific Inc.), connected with two multiplexers 32 channels (416AM Campbell Scientific Inc.). Data were recorded over a year and a critical day heat was selected, which was September 24, 2015.The results show that the use of plant systems in buildings establishes a passive technique in reducing energy consumption because of the high incidence of summer solar radiation which is reduced and simultaneously, it maintains thermal internal conditions more pleasant than external ones, because of the best thermal behaviour, which was observed in the test cell with vegetation on both roofs and facades. The biggest difference between maximum internal air temperatures registered was 2 ℃. 展开更多

The aim of the research was to investigate black colored steel-tinplate use for absorber and covering material of the collector and compare the efficiency of three types of air heating collectors. This heated air can be exploited for drying of agricultural products, room ventilation and room heating etc. 0.1 × 0.5 × 1.0 meter long FPC (fiat-plate collector) with a sun following platform was built. Air velocity at the experiments was v = 0.9 m/s. Collectors of insulated and un-insulated surfaces with steel-tinplate absorber as a covering material warmed the ambient air up to 10-12 and 5-6 degrees correspondingly (at irradiance 800 W/m^2). This difference indicates the great importance of insulating the collector body. It can be explained with intense heat exchange between the absorber and ambient air which reduces the efficiency of the collector. There was good correlation with irradiance and the air heating degree. The investigations showed that more effective FPC had the collector with absorber tinplate in the middle of the collector body. At favorable weather conditions the heating degree of the ambient air at the outlet reaches 6-8 degrees more that at the outlet of the insulated collector covered by steel-tinplate. 展开更多

Analysis of H_2S Tolerance of Pd-Cu Alloy Hydrogen Separation Membranes

The presence of a limited amount of H2S in H2-rich feed adversely affects the Pd-Cu membrane permeation performance due to the sulphidization of the membrane surface. A theoretical model was proposed to predict the S-tolerant performance of the Pd-Cu membranes in presence of H2S under the industrial water-gas-shift(WGS) reaction conditions. The ideas of surface coverage and competitive adsorption thermodynamics of H2S and H2 on Pd-Cu surface were introduced in the model. The surface sulphidization of the Pd-Cu membranes mainly depended on the pressure ratio of H2S to H2, temperature and S-adsorbed surface coverage, i.e., the occurrence of sulphidization on the surface was not directly related with the bulk compositions and structures [body centered cubic and face centered cubic(bcc or fcc)] of Pd-Cu alloy membranes because of the surface segregation phenomena. The resulting equilibrium equations for the H2S adsorption/sulphidization reactions were solved to calculate the pressure ratio of H2S to H2 over a wide range of temperatures. A validation of the model was performed through a comparison between lots of literature data and the model calculations over a rather broad range of operating conditions. An extremely good agreement was obtained in the different cases, and thus, the model can serve to guide the development of S-resistant Pd alloy membrane materials for hydrogen separation. 展开更多

An improved cluster thermal time constant(CTTC) and surface thermal time constant(STTC) numerical model was introduced,which took into account the effect of vegetation coverage and modified the expression of net longwave radiation of the canyon layer.In the case study the model was used to calculate the air temperature variation at downtown of Tianjin City.The relative error between the calculated and measured air temperatures was less than 3%.The tendency of air temperature variation was predicted when the building aspect ratio,vegetation rate,and wind speed changed respectively.It is demonstrated that when the aspect ratio of a building with south-north orientation increased,the heat island intensity at day time was mitigated;however,it became worse after sunset.The vegetation coverage rate and wind speed both had negative relationship with the urban heat island intensity. 展开更多

Deforestation in Bangladesh, has reached an alarming rate in recent years. The forest coverage of Bangladesh is one of the lowest and the deforestation rate is the highest of any country in the world. Coupled with the process of deforestation, flawed afforestration programmes have seriously exposed Bangladesh to environmental vulnerability. Considering this situation various strategies should be taken at different levels. The main objective of this paper is to suggest the possible steps that Bangladesh could halt and reverse the trend of deforestation. An extensive literature review and structured interviews of key informants have been used to collect relevant information to understand the reasons and consequences of forest degradation in the country. Based on the information gathered, this paper suggests some positive steps where the Government could be the main mitigating actor by implementing integrated programmes, which will also ensure mass awareness and wider impact. 展开更多

The establishment of nature reserves is a key approach for biodiversity conservation worldwide. However, there is a lack of unified methodology to evaluate the effectiveness of nature reserves, particularly in China, the world′s most populous nation supporting some of the most valuable biodiversity hotspots in the world. In this study, we conducted a long-term and large-scale analysis of the effectiveness of 20 of the earliest nature reserves established in Hainan Province, an island home to among the highest concentration of plants and animals in China. Remote sensing imagery from 1988, 1998, and 2008 were analyzed to investigate the temporal and spatial changes of natural forests in these nature reserves and surrounding areas. We also conducted transition matrix analysis and principle component analysis to identify the driving factors that affect the protection effectiveness of nature reserves. The results were as follows: 1) During the 20-year period from 1988 to 2008, natural forests coverage of the 20 studied nature reserves dropped 2.34 percentage points, whereas the natural forests coverage dropped 11.31 percentage points in a 0–5 km outside reserve buffer and 9.36 percentage points in a 5–10 km outside reserve buffer, indicating a significant inhibitory effect of the nature reserves on the loss of natural forests. 2) Natural forests coverage dropped in 60% of the studied nature reserves during the 20-year period, suggesting a poor protection effectiveness of these reserves, while the coverage proportion showed some increase(0%/yr–5%/yr) in other reserves. 3) Expansion of rubber and pulp forests as part of a booming economy were the main factors affecting the effectiveness of the nature reserves for conserving natural forests in Hainan Province. The results of this study provide an important empirical basis for the protection of natural forests in Hainan Province, which can be used as a blueprint for nature reserve evaluation in other places in China. 展开更多

Recent changes occurred in terminus of the debris-covered Bilafond Glacier in the Karakoram Range in the Himalayas, Northern Pakistan was investigated in this research. Landsat MSS, TM and ETM+ images were used for this study. Digital elevation models derived from ASTER GDEM and SRTM were also utilized. Visible, infrared and thermal infrared channels were utilized in order to get accurate glacier change maps. Three methods were tried to map this debris-covered glacier in this research. The glacier has been mapped successfully and the changes in the glacier terminus from 1978 to 2011 have been calculated. Manual, semi-automatic and thermal methods were found to give similar results. It was found that the glacier has undergone serious ablation during this period despite of the fact that many of the larger glaciers in the Hindu Kush and Karakoram mountain regions in the Upper Indus Basin were reported to be expanding. The terminus has been moved back about 600 meters during this period and there was an abrupt change in the glacier terminus during 1990-2002. We propose that debris thickness is not the only factor that influences the glacier ablation but the altitude of the debris-covered glacier as well. Many glaciers in the Karakoram region reported to be expanding were having higher altitudes compared to the study area. 展开更多

Vegetation index-land surface temperature (VI-T s ) space has been widely used to estimate evapotranspiration and soil moisture. The limitation of this method is the uncertainty of the observed dry edge, which is usually fitted by scatter plots. Here, a method was used to locate true dry and wet edges based on energy balance formulation, and a simple method to estimate surface energy flux is proposed based on the improved Fractional vegetation cover-Land surface temperature (F v -T s ) space. Seventeen days of MODIS products were selected to estimate evapotranspiration and the estimated sensible heat flux (H) is compared with Large Aperture Scintillometer (LAS) data at a site in Zhengzhou, resulting in a RMSE of 44.06 W m^-2 , bias of 36.99 W m^-2 and R^2 of 0.71. The H scatter plots of estimation versus observation show clearly that most points are around the 1:1 line. Overall, the located true and wet edges are more accurate than the observed true edge. Our results can also be applied to improve the estimation of soil moisture. 展开更多

Film cooling performance about a row of dual-fanned holes with injection angles of 30°, 60 ° and 90° were experimentally investigated at blowing ratios of 1.0 and 2.0. Dual-fanned hole is a novel shaped hole which has both inlet expansion and outlet expansion. A transient thermochromic liquid crystal technique was used to reveal the local values of film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient. The results show that injection angles have strong influence on the two dimensional distributions of film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient. For the small injection angle of 30 degree and small blowing ratio of 1.0, there is only a narrow spanwise region covered with film. The increase of injection angle and blowing ratio both leads to the enhanced spanwise film diffusion, but reduced local cooling ability far away from the hole. Injection angles have comprehensive influence on the averaged film cooling effectiveness for various x/d locations. As injection angles are 30 and 60 degree, two bands of high heat transfer coefficients are found in mixing region of the gas and coolant. As injection angle increases to 90 degree, the mixing leads to the enhanced heat transfer region near the film hole. The averaged heat transfer coefficient increases with the increase of injection angle. 展开更多

Experimental investigations were conducted to study the film cooling performance in a low speed annular cascades using Thermochromic Liquid Crystal (TLC) technique. The test blade was placed in the second stage, where 18 blades were installed with chord length of 124.3 mm and height of 99 mm. A film hole with diameter of 4 mm, angled 28° to the tangential of the pressure surface in streamwise, was set in the middle span of the blade. The Reynolds number based on the outlet mainstream velocity and the blade chord length of the second stage varied from 1.52×105 to 2.00×105. All measurements were made with the blowing ratio varying from 0.3 to 3.0. Air and CO2 worked as coolant to achieve the coolant-to-mainstream density ratio of 1.03 and 1.57. The results show that the film coverage and cooling effectiveness scale up with the blowing ratio. Higher density ratio can generate larger film cooling coverage and effectiveness. The higher the Reynolds number, the larger the film coverage and cooling effectiveness. 展开更多
