The workpieces of A357 alloy were routinely heat treated to the T6 state in order to gain an adequate mechanical property.The mechanical properties of these workpieces depend mainly on solid-solution temperature,solid-solution time,artificial aging temperature and artificial aging time.An artificial neural network(ANN) model with a back-propagation(BP) algorithm was used to predict mechanical properties of A357 alloy,and the effects of heat treatment processes on mechanical behavior of this alloy were studied.The results show that this BP model is able to predict the mechanical properties with a high accuracy.This model was used to reflect the influence of heat treatments on the mechanical properties of A357 alloy.Isograms of ultimate tensile strength and elongation were drawn in the same picture,which are very helpful to understand the relationship among aging parameters,ultimate tensile strength and elongation. 展开更多

Three-dimensional(3D)diabatic potential energy surfaces(PESs)of thiophenol involving the S0,and coupled 1ππ^(*) and 1πσ^(*) states were constructed by a neural network approach.Specifically,the diabatization of the PESs for the 1ππ^(*) and 1πσ^(*) states was achieved by the fitting approach with neural networks,which was merely based on adiabatic energies but with the correct symmetry constraint on the off-diagonal term in the diabatic potential energy matrix.The root mean square errors(RMSEs)of the neural network fitting for all three states were found to be quite small(<4 meV),which suggests the high accuracy of the neural network method.The computed low-lying energy levels of the S_(0) state and lifetime of the 0^(0) state of S_(1) on the neural network PESs are found to be in good agreement with those from the earlier diabatic PESs,which validates the accuracy and reliability of the PESs fitted by the neural network approach. 展开更多

A new diabatic potential energy matrix(PEM)of the coupled~^(1)ππ^(*)and~1πσ*states for the~1πσ*-mediated photodissociation of thiophenol was constructed using a neural network(NN)approach.The diabatization of the PEM was specifically achieved by our recent method[Chin.J.Chem.Phys.34,825(2021)],which was based on adiabatic energies without the associated costly derivative couplings.The equation of motion coupled cluster with single and double excitations(EOM-CCSD)method was employed to compute adiabatic energies of two excited states in this work due to its high accuracy,simplicity,and efficiency.The PEM includes three dimensionalities,namely the S-H stretch,C-S-H bend,and C-C-S-H torsional coordinates.The root mean square errors of the NN fitting for the S1 and S2 states are 0.89 and 1.33 me V,respectively,suggesting the high accuracy of the NN method as expected.The calculated lifetimes of the S1 vibronic 00 and31 states are found to be in reasonably good agreement with available theoretical and experimental results,which validates the new EOM-CCSD-based PEM fitted by the NN approach.The combination of the diabatization scheme solely based on the adiabatic energies and the use of EOM-CCSD method makes the construction of reliable diabatic PEM quite simple and efficient. 展开更多

A T-Q diagram based on entransy theory is applied to graphically and quantitatively describe the irreversibility of the heat transfer processes.The hot and cold composite curves can be obtained in the T-Q diagram.The entransy recovery and entransy dissipation that are affected by temperature differences can be obtained through the shaded area under the composite curves.The method for setting the energy target of the HENs in T-Q diagram based on entransy theory is proposed.A case study of the diesel oil hydrogenation unit is used to illustrate the application of the method.The results show that three different heat transfer temperature differences is 10 K,15 K and 20 K,and the entransy recovery is 5.498×10~7k W·K,5.377×10~7k W·K,5.257×10~7k W·K,respectively.And the entransy transfer efficiency is 92.29%,91.63%,90.99%.Thus,the energy-saving potential of the HENs is obtained by setting the energy target based on the entransy transfer efficiency. 展开更多

Due to the deterioration of serious energy dilemma,energy-conservation and emission–reduction have been the strategic target in the past decades,thus people have identified the vital importance of higher energy efficiency and the influence of lower carbon development.Since work exchange network is a significant part of energy recovery system,its optima design will have dramatically significant effect on energy consumption reduction in chemical process system.With an extension of the developed transshipment model in isothermal process,a novel step-wise methodology for synthesis of direct work exchange network(WEN)in adiabatic process involving heat integration is first proposed in this paper,where a nonlinear programming(NLP)model is formulated by regarding the minimum utility consumption as objective function and optimizing the initial WEN in accordance with the presented matching rules to get the optimized WEN configuration at first.Furthermore,we focus on the work exchange network synthesis with heat integration to attain the minimal total annual cost(TAC)with the introduction of heat-exchange equipment that is achieved by the following strategies in sequence:introducing heat-exchange equipment directly,adjusting the work quantity of the adjacent utility compressors or expanders,and approximating upper/lower pressure limits consequently to obtain considerable cost savings of expanders or compressors and work utility.Finally,a case taken from the literature is studied to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

There are several ways to increase the efficiency of energy consumption and to decrease energy consumption. In this paper. the application of pinch technology in analysis of the heat exchangers network (HEN) in order to reduce the energy consumption in a thermal system is studied. Therefore, in this grass root design, the optimum value of △Tmin, is obtained about 10℃and area efficiency (a) is 0.95. The author also depicted the grid diagram and driving force plot for additional analysis. In order to increase the amount of energy saving, heat transfer from above to below the pinch point in the diagnosis stage is verified for all options including re-sequencing, re-piping, add heat exchanger and splitting of the flows. Results show that this network has a low potential of retrofit to decrease the energy consumption, which pinch principles are planned to optimize energy consumption of the unit. Regarding the results of pinch analysis, it is suggested that in order to reduce the energy consumption, no alternative changes in the heat exchangers network of the unit is required. The acquired results show that the constancy of network is completely confirmed by the high area efficiency infirmity of the heat exchanger to pass the pinch point and from of deriving force plot. 展开更多

The Ag(Invar)composite powder prepared by ball milling was used to fabricate the Cu/Ag(Invar)composites.Microstructures and properties of the composites were studied after sintering and thermo-mechanical treatment.The results indicatethat during ball milling,micro-forging weld and work-hardening fracture result in that the average particle size of the Ag(Invar)powder increases rapidly at first,and then decreases sharply,finally tends to be constant.Compared with the Cu/Invar ones,thesinterability of the composites is greatly improved,resulting in that the pores in them are smaller in amount and size.After thethermo-mechanical treatment,the Cu/Ag(Invar)composites are nearly fully dense with the optimum phase composition and elementdistribution.More importantly,Cu and the Invar alloy in the composites distribute continuously in a three-dimensional(3D)networkstructure.Cu/Invar interface diffusion is effectively inhibited by the Ag barrier layer,leading to a great improvement of themechanical and thermal properties of the Cu/Ag(Invar)composites. 展开更多

In this paper, the heat transfer performance evaluation of one-stream heat exchangers and one-stream heat exchanger networks is analyzed with the concepts of entropy generation rate, entropy generation number, revised entropy generation number, entropy resistance, entransy dissipation rate, entransy dissipation number and generalized thermal resistance. For the analyzed one-stream heat exchangers, our numerical results show that the extremum value of the entransy dissipation rate and the minimum values of the entropy resistance and the generalized thermal resistance always lead to the largest heat transfer rate or the lowest temperature of the cooled object,while the minimum values of the other parameters do not always. For the analyzed one-stream heat exchanger networks, the minimizations of entransy dissipation rate, entransy dissipation number and generalized thermal resistance always correspond to the lowest average temperature of the cooled objects, while the minimizations of the other parameters do not. Therefore, only the extremum entransy dissipation principle and the minimum generalized thermal resistance principle are always applicable for the heat transfer performance evaluation of the systems in this paper, while the applicability of the other parameters is conditional. 展开更多

In order to resolve the problems of the current air separation process such as the complex process, cumbersome operation and high operating costs, a novel air separation process cooled by LNG cold energy is proposed in this paper, which is based on high-efficiency heat exchanger network and chemical packing separation technology. The operating temperature range of LNG cold energy is widened from 133K-203K to l13K-283K by high- efficiency heat exchanger network and air separation pressure is declined from 0.5MPa to about 0.35MPa due to packing separation technology, thereby greatly improve the energy efficiency. Both the traditional and novel air separation processes are simulated with air handling capacity of 20t'h-1. Comparing with the traditional process, the LNG consumption is reduced by 44.2%, power consumption decrease is 211.5 kWh per hour, which means the annual benefit will be up to 1.218 million CNY. And the exergy efficiency is also improved by 42.5%. 展开更多
