This study develops specific emission factors in Mexico for: sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particles, for thermoelectric power plants that use fuel oil. This work was necessary due to the differences found between the measured and the calculated emissions, using emission factors of different agencies, such as, US-EPA (Environmental Protection Agency of the United States), IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), and UK-NAEI (National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory of the United Kingdom). The new emission factors were used to calculate the emissions of a thermoelectric power plant in Mexico. The comparisons between the measured and the calculated emissions (with the new emission factors) for 502, particles and NO2 were not significantly different (p 〉 0.05).展开更多
An experimental measurement and calculation method which consist of thermal response model, convergence criteria and control algorithms, is proposed in this paper for the determination of heat flux in a scramjet combu...An experimental measurement and calculation method which consist of thermal response model, convergence criteria and control algorithms, is proposed in this paper for the determination of heat flux in a scramjet combus- tot. Numerical simulations are done to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, and experiments are made in the direct-connect hydrocarbon fueled scramjet combustor of Mach-6 flight for different equivalence ra- tios. The distribution of heat flux along the axial and circumferential directions can be obtained using the pro- posed method. The distribution of heat flux is uneven which is caused by the aerodynamic heating, combustion heat release and changes of section area, and the peak heat flux can be more than 2MW/m^2 during the experi- ments. Heat flux increases with the increase in equivalence ratio for the same Mach number. And axial distribu- tion of heat flux is uniform for different equivalence ratios. In addition, the combustion heat release area of the combustion chamber can therefore be concluded which is useful for guiding the structural design of the thermal protection system.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To observe the protective effects of modified Linggui Zhugan Decoction combined with short-term very low calorie diets(VLCDs) on cardiovascular risk factors in obese patients with impaired glucose tolerance(...OBJECTIVE:To observe the protective effects of modified Linggui Zhugan Decoction combined with short-term very low calorie diets(VLCDs) on cardiovascular risk factors in obese patients with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT).METHODS:Eighty-five obese patients with IGT of spleen hypofunction and dampness accumulation type were randomly divided into treated group(n=45)and control group(n=40).The treated group was given Linggui Zhugan Decoction combined short-term VLCDs.The control group was given basic weight-reduction treatment.The total course was 6 months.Changes of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting insulin(FINS),lipid metabolism,blood pressure,body mass index(BMI) and waist circumference(WC) were observed,and the outcomes were reviewed after the treatment.RESULTS:Compared with the control group,the levels of FPG,2hPG,HbA1c,FINS,HOMA-IR decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the indexes of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein(LDL),systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),BMI and WC were improved significantly(P<0.05) in the treated group.The transformation rate of normal glucose tolerance(NGT) was higher in treatment group than control group(P<0.01).No severe adverse reaction was found in the therapeutic course.CONCLUSION:The modified Linggui Zhugan Decoction combined with short-term VLCDs has good protective effects on cardiovascular risk factors as a treatment intervention for IGT with obesity,as it could improve glycometabolism,significantly decrease the levels of blood pressure,blood lipids,BMI,WC and effectively cut-off and reverse the development of diabetes mellitus.展开更多
