The statistical findings have shown that this therapeutic method can exert an important action in improving the joint spasm for patients with post-stroke sequelae. Especially, a better effect can be expected when it is used at the points of yin channels. A report follows.展开更多

In the present paper, the authors review the protective actions of HSP70 on the heart, gastric mucosa, liver, brain tissues, kidney, etc., and the relationship among acupuncture/moxibustion, heat shock protein and the cytoprotective actions. It is worth studying the cytoprotective effect of acupuncture and moxibustion by way of the resultant generation of HSP70 in the organism.展开更多

"Ashi" points were used as the main acupoints. For comparison, other 300 cases (group B) were treated with routine acupuncture method, and Rugen (ST 18) was used as the main acupoint. In addition, other auxiliary acupoints were supplemented in the light of the concrete syndromes in these two groups. The treatment was given once daily, with 10 sessions being a therapeutic course. Of the 300 cases in group A, 240 were clinically cured, amounting to 80%; 58 were effective, amounting to 19.3%; 2 were failed, with a total effective rate of 99.3%. Of the 300 cases in group B, 113 were clinically cured, 165 effective, 22 were failed, with a total effective rate of 92.7%. The therapeutic effect of group A is significantly superior to that of group B (P<0.05).展开更多

Methods: Two hundred patients with edema of the stroke-affected limb from our hospital were randomized into two groups according to their visiting sequence. In the observation group, 100 subjects were intervened by acupuncture plus Chinese medicinal fumigation and washing in addition to oral administration of diuretics, while the other 100 subjects in the control group were only given diuretics. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after successive 2-week treatments. Results: The total effective rate was 90.0% in the observation group, significantly higher than 66.0% in the control group, indicating that there was a significant difference in comparing the overall therapeutic effect(P<0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus Chinese medicinal fumigation and washing in addition to oral administration of diuretics is effective in treating edema of the affected limb in post-stroke hemiplegia.展开更多

The result showed that 49 cases got recovery, 37 cases got marked effect, 11 cases got certain effect, 3 cases got no effect and the total effective rate was 97.0%.展开更多
