The calculated results show that pressure affects the elastic constants of C_(11) more than that of C_(12) and C_(44). Specifically, higher pressure leads to greater bulk modulus(B), shear modulus(G), and elastic modulus(E). We predict B/G and anisotropy factor A based on the calculated elastic constants. The Debye temperature also increases with increasing pressure. Based on the quasi-harmonic Debye model, we examined the thermodynamic properties. These properties include the normalized volume(V/V_0), bulk modulus(B), heat capacity(C_v), thermal expansion coefficient(α), and Debye temperature(■). Finally, the electronic structures associated with the density of states(DOS) and Mulliken population are analyzed.展开更多

Two types of mainly used tube bundles, the planar elastic tube bundle and the conical spiral tube bundle were comprehensively compared in the condition of the same shell side diameter. The natural mode characteristics, the effect of fluid-structure interaction, the stress distribution, the comprehensive heat transfer performance and the secondary fluid flow of the two elastic tube bundles were all concluded and compared. The results show that the natural frequency and the critical velocity of vibration buckling of the planar elastic tube bundle are larger than those of the conical spiral tube bundle, while the stress distribution and the comprehensive heat transfer performance of the conical spiral tube bundle are relatively better.展开更多

In the coupling model, differentiating from the previous analyzing viewpoint that looked upon deformation work as additional heat source, temperature-field equation is established by considering the weakening role of deformation work on the intensity of internal heat source; in the process of setting up displacement-field equation, G-derivative of nonlinear functional is introduced into the traditional theory of elastoplastic finite deformation to simplify the expression of structural stiffness; stress-field equation is constructed by using the least square method to improve the stress solution obtained by constitutive equation. The presented model is converted into finite element program to simulate deforming process of 3-D structures with temperature-dependent material properties. As an example, thermal deformation analysis of Shanghai metro cars’ brake resistor is performed and compared with experimental results for illustrating the validity of the presented model.展开更多

Heat transfer analysis is carried out in the presence of variable thermal conductivity and thermal radiation. Arising nonlinear analysis for velocity and temperature is computed. Discussion to importantly involved parameters through plots is presented. Comparison between present and previous limiting solutions is shown. Numerical values of local Nusselt number are computed and analyzed. It can be observed that the effects of viscoelastic parameter and Hartman number on the temperature profile are similar in a qualitative way. The variations in temperature are more pronounced for viscoelastic parameter K in comparison to the Hartman number M. The parameters N and ε give rise to the temperature. It is interesting to note that values of local Nusselt number are smaller for the larger values of ε.展开更多
