A coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical-migratory model of dual-porosity medium for saturated-unsaturated ubiquitous-joint rockmass was established,in which the stress field and the temperature field were single, but the seepage field and the concentration field were double, and the influences of sets, spaces, angles, continuity ratios, stiffnesses of fractures on the constitutive relationship of the medium were considered. Also, the relative two-dimensional program of finite element method was developed.Taking a hypothetical nuclear waste repository as a calculation example, the case in which the rockmass was unsaturated dual-porosity medium and radioactive nuclide leak was simulated numerically, and the temperatures, negative pore pressures, saturations, flow velocities, nuclide concentrations and principal stresses in the rockmass were investigated. The results show that the negative pore pressures and nuclide concentrations in the porosity and fracture present different changes and distributions.Even though the saturation degree in porosity is only about 1/10 that in fracture, the flow velocity of underground water in fracture is about three times that in porosity because the permeability coefficient of fracture is almost four orders higher than that of porosity. The value of nuclide concentration in fracture is close to that in porosity. 展开更多

Heat transfer of an SI engine's piston is calculated by employing three different methods based on resistor-capacitor model with the help of MATLAB code, and then the piston is thermo-mechanically analyzed using commercial ANSYS code. The results of three methods are compared to study their effects on the piston thermal behavior. It is shown that resistor-capacitor model with less number of equations and consequently less solution time, is an appropriate method for solving problems of engine piston heat transfer. In the second part, the thermal stresses due to non-uniform temperature distribution, and mechanical stresses due to mechanical loads are calculated. Finally, the temperature distributions as a thermal load along with mechanical loads are applied to the piston to determine the total stress distribution and critical fracture zones. It is found that the amount of thermal stresses is considerable. 展开更多

A 3-D modeling of FEA (finite element analysis) design provides for high-speed synchronous with PMs (permanent magnets) applied in aerospace application will be examined under design considerations ofn = 12,000 rpm, short-duty operation, and etc. for an ARWM (aerospace retraction wheel motor). First, lumped-elements will be fine-tuned following numerical method results is reported steady-state and transient solutions. Besides, the equations of thermal modeling such as Re, N,,, G,. and Pr numbers in order to calculate heat-transfer coefficient of convection on the rotor and stator surfaces in the air-gap have calculated. This section illustrates the temperature distribution of each point in a clear view. By CFD (fluid dynamic analysis) analysis, the fluid dynamics were modeled, pressure and velocity streamlines of cooling-flow have analyzed. An optimization algorithm was derived in order to have optimized number of water-channels as well. Second, calculation of nodal and tangential forces which deal with mechanical stresses of the ARWM have represented. The paper discusses an accurate magnetic-field analysis that addresses equivalent stress distribution in the magnetic core through using the transient FEA to estimate motor characteristics. The whole model shear and normal mechanical stresses and total deformation oftbe ARWM has been investigated by transient FEA. The end-winding effects were included by the authors. 展开更多

The kinetics of isothermal reduction of Ag2O with graphite under argon atmosphere for a non-activated sample and mechanically activated sample was investigated. It is found that Johnson-Mehl-Avrami model appropriately explained the thermal and mechanochemical synthesis of Ag from Ag2O+ghraphite mixture. The process kinetics was investigated using the same approach for milled and unmilled samples. The results show that the Avrami exponent of mechanochemical reduction is higher than that of high temperature thermal reduction. Also, the mechanisms of nuclei growth in thermal and mechanochemical reduction are diffusion controlled and interface controlled, respectively. 展开更多

Shape memory effect is capability of certain materials to recover its original shape after an apparently permanent deformation. The NiTi alloy of the composition is approximately equiatomic and it is the materials that exhibit the best characteristics for application of these properties, especially in the biomedical area, because of their excellent biocompatibility as: in the manufacture of medical and dental instruments, orthodontic wires, orthopedic materials, guide wires, stents, filters and components to realize the less invasive surgeries. In other areas, they are used for confections of electronic keys, spectacle frames, application in controllers, junction of pipes and electronic connectors among others. New research topics involving the application of these alloys super-elasticity are also known as pseudo elasticity. This event has an isothermal nature and involves the storage of potential energy in the shape memory effect and super-elasticity. In this context, this work falls within the scope of use of the technologies being an example of the work undertaken, in the course Graduate of Federal University of Pernambuco in skills in these technologies. It will present the results of a heat engine which engine element is a helical spring made of a NiTi alloy equiatomic with memory effect reversibly. The spring is triggered by a hot source (- 373.15 K) and a cold source (273.15 K). The machine is capable of producing a reciprocating oscillating between the two sources. Heat equations and the equations that describe the dynamic behavior of the spring were developed. Through the development of dynamic equations, it can determine the minimum mass for the motion of the machine, as well as the instantaneous and average power and overall efficiency. You can check the functionality of the machine by way of the inclination angle of the propeller and the coefficient of static friction. Among the main results, it was observed that the overall performance of the machine compared to the machines of this category showed the feasibility of the project. 展开更多

In this paper,an atom-continuum coupled model for thermo-mechanical behaviors in micro-nano scales is presented.A representative volume element consisting of atom clusters is used to represent the microstructure of materials. The atom motions in the RVE are divided into two phases, structural deformations and thermal vibrations. For the structural deformations, nonlinear and nonlocal deformation at atomic scales is considered. The atomistic-continuum equations are constructed based on momentum and energy conservation law.The non-locality and nonlinearity of atomistic interactions are built into the thermo-mechanical constitutive equations. The coupled atomistic-continuum thermal-mechanical simulation process is also suggested in this work. 展开更多
