Coal Washing Exploration in India dates back to 1900s; though, first coking coal washeries in India were installed after independence. At present, most of the coking coal washeries are owned by Public Sector Companies...Coal Washing Exploration in India dates back to 1900s; though, first coking coal washeries in India were installed after independence. At present, most of the coking coal washeries are owned by Public Sector Companies; whereas, most of the non-coking coal washeries are owned by Private Sector. Even after six decades of coal washing practices, there has not been significant development in the coal washing intelligentsia. Indian Coal Washing industry is still dependent on imported equipment, which has been designed to treat coal that is significantly different from Indian coal of drift origin. In this paper, authors have ventured into evolution of Indian Coal Washing Industry （with a focus on coking coal washing sector）, its present condition and future prospect for growth. The paper emphasizes need for developing indigenous solutions to industrial challenges and highlights importance of increased coordination among academia-research institutions and coal industry.展开更多
In the course of pushing forward the overall growth capacities of the mining industry and getting adapted to the tense competition after China抯 entry into WTO, it is quite necessary to speed up the process of fosteri...In the course of pushing forward the overall growth capacities of the mining industry and getting adapted to the tense competition after China抯 entry into WTO, it is quite necessary to speed up the process of fostering large state-owned coal group enter-prises. This strategical proposal is made on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the main problems challenges faced by the coal mining industry is made on. The main prob-lems with Chinese coal mining industries discussed include: over-competition with a low convergence, severe waste and loss of mine resources with poor exploitation techniques, disordered operation with few industrial entry barriers, heavy welfare burdens from low socialization. The accession of WTO provide Chinese coal mining industry with chances to push forward the reforms and structural shift in the enterprises, expedite the estab-lishment and perfect of coal mining market mechanism, expand their international market share as well as introduce foreign investment, and with challenges from high technology, knowledge economy, and information revolution. The solutions to the foster of large-scale coal mining group enterprises, as well as the possible points to note and the policy pro-posal are advanced.展开更多

With the slow recovery of the oil and gas industries as a whole, the overseas oil and gas business of Chinese oil enterprises has continued to grow in size, and all-round cooperation progress was made along the Belt and Road. Breakthroughs were made in oil and gas cooperation between China and the United States. In the meantime, new features have emerged in the overseas cooperation of Chinese enterprises, and a pattern of diversified investors has basically taken shape.展开更多

This results in a substantial decline of profits and more operating difficulties in the downstream electric enterprises. The listed companies in both coal supply and power industries have quality assets and are the representatives of these industries. Through the analysis of the financial and operational status of the listed coal supply and power companies since 2007, the reasons for the business development difficulties in the electric power industry were discussed. Recommendations were provided including improving the coal pricing system, increasing the degree of business integration of the coal and electric power industries, and adjusting energy structure.展开更多
