Comparison of experimental data between FT... Fusain from Tongting (Huaibei, Anhui Province) bituminous (FTTB) coal was fractionally extracted using Soxhlet extractor with CS2. Then the extracts were analyzed with GC/MS. Comparison of experimental data between FTTB coal and clarain from Tongting bituminous (CTTB) coal was carried out. The results show that the kinds of small molecule components detected by GC/MS of FTTB are less than those of CTTB. Long-chain alkanes exist mostly in the extracts of fusain. Macromolecular networks are predominant in the FTTB coal mainly composed of inertinite in the coal petrography. The size of micropores in the FTTB coal is relatively small, and the development of micropores is relatively low. Thus the content of aromatic compounds with affinity for micropores is relative low in FTTB, while the content of long-chain alkanes with affinity for macromolecule networks is relatively high. Sub-components in exinite determine the distribution of long-chain alkanes extracted in the last stage. Odd-numbered carbon distribution appears when resin is most in exinite, while high carbon alkane distribution appears when exinite is dominant in cutinite. Small aromatic molecules are firstly packed in micropores, and exist in a free state after micropores are saturated. 展开更多

The result shows that 1 ) the △rGm function of the reaction of pyrite into FeS and the modifying reaction decreasing the oxygenous functions on coal surface is smaller than zero in a spontaneous reaction, and greater than zero in a non-spontaneous reaction; 2) the △rGm value can be adjusted by pH and the dosage of electrolyte to make it be greaterthan zero , which is favorable for the modifying reaction and useful for desulfurization of coal. Significant changes of geological and hydraulic behaviors of rock mass with depth was studied. The general regulation and the critical depth of qualitative change of rock mass geological and hydraulic changes with depth were studied. Preliminary research show that the mechanical properties of rock mass gradually change from solid to plastic with the increasing of its buried depth. The critical depth of this tendency was controlled by geological properties of rock mass and its overlying rock. The critical depths are different in different regions because of its different geological condition. The general change depth of rock mass from rigid property to plastic property in coal mine regions of North China is about 1 800-2 300 m. The hydraulic permeability of rock mass will change significantly with depth because of the geological and hydraulic mechanics changes from solid to plastic and the groundwater circulation condition in karst and fractured aquifer will also change. The results reflact that the stability, deformation, failure, permeability and groundwater hazardous condition of rock mass during deep mining process are quite different from that of shallow mining's. 展开更多

The coal resources of Nigeria occur mainly within the Benue Trough which includes the Anambra Basin. In the Lower Benue Trough/Anambra Basin, sub-bituminous coals occur within the Maastrichtian Mamu Formation in Enugu (Enugu State), Owukpa (Benue State), Okaba (Kogi State) and Ogboyaga (Kogi State). High-volatile bituminous coals occur within the Turonian-Coniacian Awgu Formation in the Middle Benue Trough around Obi/Lafia (Nasarawa State) with outcrop exposures at Jangwa-Shankodi. Organic petrographic results show that huminites dominate the maceral composition of the Anambra Basin coals and have vitrinite reflectance values that range from 0.40% to 0.63 Ro%. In the coals from the Middle Benue Trough, vitrinite macerals predominate the petrographic composition and Ro values range from 0.81% to 1.25%. Based on the petrographic composition and rank evaluation, the sub-bituminous coals in Enugu, Owukpa, Okaba and Ogboyaga (Anambra Basin) are optimum for combustion and electric power generation and sub-optimum for liquefaction, while the high-volatile bituminous coals in the Obi/Lafia area (Middle Benue Trough), apart from being optimum for liquefaction, are the most suitable as raw material for coke making (carbonization) in steel manufacture and as exploration targets for coal-bed methane gas and liquid hydrocarbons. 展开更多

This paper discussed the petrological characteristics and coal facies of No.6 coal seam from the Haerwusu Mine, Jungar Coalfield, Inner Mongolia by using of coal petrology and geochemistry. No.6 coal facies can be divided into 3 types, arid forest peat swamp (including two subfacies) and reed peat swamp, respectively. From bottom to top, the development of peat swamps present wavy changes, and three coal facies types appear alternately, with obvious thyme. According to the parameters, 11 secondary sequences were identified of the peat swamps of No.6 coal seam. The results indicate that the mire formed in brackish water-fresh water weak regression environment, changed in excess oxygen and poor oxygen, and reflected the characteristics of transition phase. 展开更多

The generally used methods of forecasting coal requirement quantity include the analogy method, the outside push method and the cause effect analysis method. However, the precision of forecasting results using these methods is lower. This paper uses the grey system theory, and sets up grey forecasting model GM (1, 3) to coal requirement quantity. The forecasting result for the Chinese coal requirement quantity coincides with the actual values, and this shows that the model is reliable. Finally, this model are used to forecast Chinese coal requirement quantity in the future ten years. 展开更多

Nitrogen-containing carbons were prepared by modification of activated carbons.The modified carbons were used as electrode materials with improved electrochemical performance.Precursor anthracite was activated by KOH(KOH:anthracite= 1:1), modified by melamine or urea and then treated at 1173 K to obtain the modified carbons.The porous structure, the chemical composition and the electrochemical characteristics of the carbons were investigated by nitrogen sorption, XPS and electrochemical methods respectively.Electrochemical experiments were performed in an organic electrolytic solution of 1 M(C2H5)4NBF4/PC.The samples modified by the different methods showed differences in chemical composition that introduced varying degrees of electrochemical performance enhancement.The presence of nitrogen enhanced the electron donor properties and the surface wettability of the activated carbons:this ensured a sufficient utilization of the exposed surface for charge storage. 展开更多

Na2CO3, Li2CO3, and K2CO3 were used as additives to Pingshuo (PS) coal that was subsequently gasified under a CO2 stream. The catalytic gasification of coal samples by CO2 in the presence single or mixed alkali carbonates was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. The experimental results indicate that the catalytic effect of Li2CO3 is significantly larger than that of Na2CO3 or K2CO3. The catalytic effect of the mixed, bi-metal carbonate containing Li2C03 and Na2C03, or Li2CO3, and K2C03, is related to the compo- sition of the catalyst and the proportion of the two components. The bi-metal carbonates having a mole ratio of 9:1 (lri:x) has the largest catalytic effect for PS coal gasification. A synergistic effect between Li and K, or Na, carbonate appears at temperatures greater than 1300 K. An un-reacted shrinking core model is suitable for kinetic analysis of catalytic gasification of coal samples in the presence of alkali carbonates. It is inappropriate, however, to evaluate the catalytic effect only by the activation energy obtained from the kinetic calculations. 展开更多

Exhaustion of profitable coal resources makes for need of innovation including underground coal gasification(UCG).One of the most important problems of UCG is evaluation of the combustion area in underground coal seams.Physicochemical parameters of coal,in a whole,and coal mineral substance are changed under heating and combusting.Thermo-chemical conversion of coal mineral components has an effect on magnetic characteristics of coal seam and can be used for real-time control of combusting area.To this guessing check laboratory experiments have been made as an activity of the Far Eastern Federal University.Our investigation based on a theoretical analysis and laboratory simulation tests.Typical results of the laboratory experiments are presented below.Under heating coal thermo-chemical magnetization is forming.Coal's magnetic parameters varieties from anti-ferromagnetiсto ferromagnetic.Anti-ferromagnetic pyrite and siderite presented into coal mass is transformed into magnetic hematite and magnetite under heating.Therefore,geomagnetic is expected to be a useful geophysical tool to for evaluation of combustion volume and its migration for underground coal gasification. 展开更多

The CO gas in the upper comer along with the work of mining face in different coal-seam of Lingwu coal-field has deeply affected judgment for the degree of the coal spontaneous combustion and safety work. For this issue, a new calculation and forecast model of the carbon monoxide concentration in the upper comer of mining face was deduced for analyzing and calculating the date from the lab and test-in-place, during this course using the knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and mathematics. The model took into account the characteristics of the coal spontaneous combustion, coal mining conditions, and other correlate factors, so the CO concentration of the upper comer safe under the normal condition, and it is in danger when the coal reached spontaneous combustion, which can be calculated accurately with the model and compared with the measured concentration with a tolerance of less than 12%. 展开更多

Surface chemical properties of typical commercial coal-based activated cokes were characterized by Xray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and acid-base titration, and then the influence of surface chemical properties on catalytic performance of activated cokes of NO reduction with NH3 was investigated in a fixed-bed quartz micro reactor at 150 ℃. The results indicate that the selective catalytic reduction(SCR) activity of activated cokes with the increase of its surface acidic sites and oxygen content,obviously, a correlation between catalytic activity and surface acidic sites content by titration has higher linearity than catalytic activity and surface oxygen content by XPS. While basic sites content by acid-base titration have not correlation with SCR activity. It has been proposed that surface basic sites content measured by titration may not be on adjacent of acidic surface oxides and then cannot form of NO2-like species, thus the reaction of reduction of NO with NH3 have been retarded. 展开更多
