The safety of hydrog...This paper introduced the design of the hybrid powertrain of the Fuel Cell City Bus demonstrated in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The configuration of the hybrid fuel cell powertrain was introduced. The safety of hydrogen storage and delivery system, the hydrogen leakage alarm system were developed. The real-time distributed control and diagnosis system based on the Time Trigger Controller Area Network (TTCAN) with 10 ms basic control period was developed. The concept and implementation of processor (or controller) monitor and process (or task) monitor technique based on the TYCAN were applied in this paper. The fault tolerant control algorithm of the fuel cell engine and the battery man- agement system were considered. The demonstration experience verified that the fault tolerant control was very important for the fuel cell city bus.展开更多

Nonlinear model of the PEM fue...In this paper, the nonlinear state feedback controller has been developed to control the pressures of the oxygen and the hydrogen in the PEM(Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell system. Nonlinear model of the PEM fuel cell system was introduced to study the design problems of the state observer and model based controller. A cascade observer using the filtering technique was used to estimate the pressure derivatives of the cathode and the anode in the system. In order to estimate the pressures of the cathode and the anode, the sliding mode observer was designed by using these pressure derivatives. To estimate the oxygen pressure and the hydrogen pressure in the system, the nonlinear state observer was designed by using the cathode pressure estimates and the anode it. These results will be very useful to design the state feedback controller. The validity of the proposed observers and the controller has been investigated by using a Lyapunov's stability analysis strategy.展开更多

The temperature characters of MCFC stack are briefly analyzed. A radial basis function (RBF) neural networks identification technology is applied to set up the temperature nonlinear model of MCFC stack, and the identification structure, algorithm and modeling training process are given in detail. A fuzzy controller of MCFC stack is designed. In order to improve its online control ability, a neural network trained by the I/O data of a fuzzy controller is designed. The neural networks can memorize and expand the inference rules of the fuzzy controller and substitute for the fuzzy controller to control MCFC stack online. A detailed design of the controller is given. The validity of MCFC stack modelling based on neural networks and the superior performance of the fuzzy neural networks controller are proved by Simulations.展开更多

In order to improve MCFC’s generating performance, prolong its life and guarantee safety, it must be controlled efficiently. First, the output voltage of an MCFC stack is identified by a least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) method with radial basis function (RBF) kernel so as to implement nonlinear predictive control. And then, the optimal control sequences are obtained by applying genetic algorithm (GA). The model and controller have been realized in the MATLAB environment. Simulation results indicated that the proposed controller exhibits satisfying control effect.展开更多

A power interface to the electronic load and a digital section are provided. The fuel cell steady-state, dynamic and thermal behaviour is modeled by the digital controller. The emulator architecture is deeply analyzed and remarks on hardware implementation algorithms are provided for further applications. The system is tested on a 10 W Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell and the high accuracy of the proposed emulator is shown by the comparison between experimental and simulation results.展开更多
