This filter operator only delays seismic data in the filtering process. A non- causal multichannel matching filter based on a least squares criterion is proposed to resolve the problem in which predicted multiple model data is later than real data. The differences between causal and non-causal multichannel matching filters are compared using a synthetic shot gather, which demonstrates the validity of the non-causal matching filter. In addition, a variable length sliding window which changes with offset and layer velocity is proposed to solve the count of events increasing with increasing offset in a fixed length sliding window. This variable length sliding window is also introduced into the modified and expanded multichannel matching filter. This method is applied to the Pluto1.5 synthetic data set. The benefits of the non-causal filter operator and variable length sliding window are demonstrated by the good multiple attenuation result.展开更多

The microbial groups revealed new distribution along the biofilter depth after low flow rate backwashing for a short time. Then the start-up process was accelerated by backwashing. The biomass profile and microbial activity profile both varying with depth before and after backwashing, can be mathematically described by quadratic equations. Using the profiles, the difference of oxygen demand can be calculated to determine the airflow rate during backwashing. Combined with the difference between biofilters and rapid gravity filters, analysis of biomass and microbial activity can determine more accurately the required airflow rate during backwashing.展开更多

The UF membrane was hollow fiber with a molecular weight cutoff of 100 kD. The complex was prepared from the organic cation octadecyltrimethylammonium (ODTMA) and the negatively charged clay-mineral, montmoriIIonite. This complex has a very large surface area, which includes large hydrophobic domains and is positively charged, about half of the cation exchange capacity of the clay. Two sets of filtration experiments were carried out at flow rates of 1.2 and 50 mL/min, which correspond to flow velocities of 3.7 and 153 cm/h, respectively. In the first case, after a passage of 1 L, the turbidity, total suspended solids (TSS), fecal coliforms (FC), and total coliforms (TC) were reduced to zero from 14 NTU, 6 ppm, 350 and 10,000 counts per 100 mL, respectively. In the second case, the numbers of FC and TC were reduced from 50,000/100 mL to zero after the passage of 14 L. The values of COD and BOD were reduced several-fold. The conclusion is that the incorporation of micelle-clay filters in the sewage treatment system with loose tertiary capability is promising and warrants larger scale experiments for optimization of the overall system.展开更多

From 2010 to 2012, the landfill was aerated intermittently with low pressure. Outgoing air was treated passively in an open biofilter which covers the landfill surface. The landfill was aerated by means of 80 air injection wells arranged area-wide in a 10 m grid. An elaborate measuring process and technological controls are being utilized in the pilot scheme. The data collected offer interesting insights about the processes during aeration, allowing optimization of the aeration strategy depending on changes of the conditions in the landfill. During the three-year aeration phase, conditions have changed inside the landfill section in various ways. In numerous zones of the landfill body, the aeration caused aerobic conditions with a decline of methane production. Accelerated settlings are measured up to 11%. The effects of the aerobic stabilization on the landfill are evaluated in a two-year monitoring phase started in 2013.展开更多
