China is one of the centers for the origin of the cultivated plants worldwide, as well as one of the countries with most abundant plant resources and the highest biodiversity. Strengthening research in the conservation and utilization of plant germplasm resources is of significant value and importance. In this study, the present status of conservation, utilization, and existing problems of plant germplasm resources in China and around the world were reviewed; further, through analyzing measures taken by global countries for plant germplasm resources protection, countermeasures for plant germplasm resources conservation in China were also presented from three aspects, namely, collection and conservation, information network construction and national legislation and policies.展开更多

All lines showed a chromosome number of 2n = 42, five of them carried both a pair of wheat-rye (Triticum aestivum-Secale cereal) 1BL/1RS translocation chromosomes and a pair of Agropyron intermedium (Ai) chromosomes, three carried a pair of Ai chromosomes only, three others carried a pair of 1BL/1RS chromosomes only, and one carried neither 1BL/1BS nor Ai chromosome. Further identification revealed that the identical Ai chromosome in these germplasm lines substituted the chromosome 2D of common wheat (T aestivum L.), designated as 2Ai. The genetic implication and further utilization of 2Ai in wheat improvement were also discussed.展开更多

The traditional convection-dispersionequation (CDE) subjected to two boundary conditions: 1) at the soil surface (or inlet boundary) and2) at the solute front, was solved using a Laplace transformation. A comparison of residentconcentrations using a boundary-layer method and an exact solution (in a semi-infinite-domain)showed that both were in good agreement within the range between the two boundaries. This led to anew method for estimating solute transport parameters in soils, requiring only observation ofadvance of the solute front with time. This may be corroborated visually using a tracer solutionwith marking-dye or measured utilizing time domain reflectometry (TDR). This method is applicable toboth laboratory soil columns and field soils. Thus, it could be a step forward for modeling solutetransport in field soils and for better understanding of the transport processes in soils.展开更多

The in-creased importance Of the process is gaining a worldwide interest of research. A growing body of literature has demonstrated that the scientific approach can result in improved product quality with minimum trial and error em-piricism. Air streams containing toluene vapour with flowrates of 13.6 mL-min1 or 27.6 mL.min^-1 were bubbled through a 50 mL static oil in a glass tube at a temperature of 30 ℃ or 60 ℃. In experiments using the wetted wall column, air streams containing toluene were contacted with a falling thin film ofoil on the outer wall of a column with a diameter of 6.4 cm and two different contacting heights of 60 cm or 80 cm. Toluene concentrations in the air stream were adjusted in the range of 700-3000 ppm corresponding to a typical tars concentration in the producer gas. The phase equilibrium of toluene was represented as values of 1/tl of 326, 220 and 182 respectively for lubrication oil, palm oil and sunflower oil (H is Henry's constant with the toluene concentrations in g.L^-1 for liquid phase and g.Nm^-3 for gas phase). From experiments using the bubble column, it was found that the overall mass transfer coefficient (Kc, a) was in the order of 10.3 cm3-min^-1 and the overall liquid phase mass transfer coefficient (KLa)was about 10.3 cm3.min^-1. Although lubrication oil had a slightly better absorption capacity than the other two tested oils, it had a lower mass trasfer coefficient than that of palm oil. All three proposed oils had a much better absorption capacity and absorption rate than that of water used conventionally as a scrubbing liquid in a small biomass gasification plant.展开更多

The process has been considered to occur under substrate and product inhibitory effects. The results indicated that the bioreactor with mobile bed is more efficient for biocatalyst particles with a diameter over 3 mm, while the basket bioreactor is more efficient for smaller biocatalyst particles and basket bed thickness below 5 mm. The performances of both configurations of immobilized A. succinogenes cell beds were found to be superior to the column packed bed bioreactor.展开更多

The numerical simulation by simple 3D model to clarify the influence of cell components structure on heat and mass transfer phenomena as well as power generation experiment and measurement of in-plane temperature distribution by thermograph was carried out. From the simulation, the gas channel pitch of separator was the key factor to unify in-plane distribution of temperature and gas concentration on reaction surface in cell. The compression of GDL (gas diffusion layer) by cell binding caused wider distribution of mass concentration in GDL. From the experiment, the power generation performance was promoted with decreasing gas channel pitch. The temperature range in observation area was reduced with decreasing gas channel pitch. It can be concluded that the power generation performance is promoted by decreasing gas channel pitch.展开更多
