A new measure system is derived for drying dynamics testing. In the small fluidized-bed dryer, fluidization parameter of PVC powder is tested, and the operating air velocity can be chosen in the range of 0. 41 to 0. 55 m/s. Accordingly, the fluidized number Ua/Umf is from 1.24 to 1.67. A promising drying model is used to describe the drying process, and then the characteristic drying curve of PVC powder derived from a suspension method can be expressed as f = [-0. 622 6 + 1. 254 6exp(2. 561 5Φ -0. 707 2) /[1 + exp(2. 561 5Φ -0. 707 2)] Based on the experiments, the critical moisture content xc and the mass transfer coefficient K are determined to be 0. 02 kg/kg and 6. 0 × 10^-4 kg/( m2 · s), respectively. The experimental results in the small fluidized-bed dryer are similar to those of the real fluidized drying process, so the descried method can also be used in determining drying kinetics of powder materials such as PVC powder.展开更多

The dependence of current, field, and carrier distribution in bilayer organic devices with the structure of "injection electrode/Layer Ⅰ/Layer Ⅱ/collection electrode" on temperature are numerically analyzed. We conclude that, for a given applied voltage, when temperature is raised, the voltage of LayerⅠ will increase, and the field will be higher. For the system has only one excited state, the computer simulation and analysis lead to the conclusions that, the number of refractory states does not influence the wave-front speed; the wave- front speed decreases as the excitation threshold increases and increases as the neighbor radius increases; the period of target waves is equal to the number of cell states; the excitation condition for target waves is that the wave-front speed must be bigger than half of the neighbor radius.展开更多

Both classes of suffactants were able to reduce the inteffacial tension of their formulations to a similar level. However, the biosurfactants were more effective than the synthetics surfactants. Biosurfactants also altered the surface properties of stainless steel, rendering it hydrophilic. Microbial adhesion to stainless steel conditioned with biosurfactants was found to be thermodynamically unfavorable for all microbial strains tested. A linear relationship between shear stress and shear rate was obtained across a range of experimental conditions for all surfactant mixtures, indicating that all formulations behaved as Newtonian fluids.展开更多

To obtain the propagation characteristics of ship seismic waves, an algorithm for calculating Seismic waves at the seafloor is presented based on the staggered-grid finite difference method. The accuracy of the algorithm was tested by comparison with analytical solutions. Numerical simulation of seismic waves generated by a low-frequency point sotmd source in a typical shallow sea environment was carried out. Using various source frequencies and locations in the numerical simulation, we show that the seismic waves in the near field are composed mostly of transmitted S-waves and interface waves while transmitted P-waves are weak near the seafloor. However, in the far field, the wave components of the seismic wave are mainly normal modes and interface waves, with the latter being relatively strong in the waveforms, As the source frequency decreases, the normal modes become smaller and the interface waves dominate the time series of the seismic waves.展开更多

The ADV was set at 1.4 m above the bed bottom, continuously run for 1 min with a 2-minute interval with sampling frequency 64 Hz. The long-time continual observation is significant to reveal variations of turbulent characteristics and show some differences from the classic traditional tur- bulent theory. Eliminating the noise by the 'Phase-Space Thresholding Method', rotating the coordinate and low-pass filtering the velocity were applied for data processing. This paper was mainly to estimate the turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate by the iner- tial dissipation method, friction velocity, drag coefficient and significant periods of the turbulent characteristics with the ADV data. The results show that there is a strong, rotating bottom flow up to 0.398 ms-1 with predominantly semidiumal period and less sig- nificantly diurnal and semilunar period. The turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate ranges from 1.09× 10-8W kg-1 to 6.62× 10-8W kg-1, which can vary with 2 or 3 orders of magnitude in one day. The daily averaged variations of friction velocity and drag coeffi- cient are 6.50×10-3-2.32× 10-2ms-1 and 6.30×10-3-4.36×10-2, respectively. All the characteristics have a remarkable semidiurnal period. In the bottom boundary layer with a rotating tide, the parameterized coefficients to describe ε-μ. and ε-Et relationships are much smaller than the traditional value.展开更多

The analytical results of direct numerical simulation indicate that the basic flow plays an important role in the drop coalescence on liquid-liquid interface. In the stratified two-phase flow field, the smaller droplets are difficult to drain the thin continuous film between the approaching droplets and bulk interfaces and eventually immerse into the trickling film to yield coalescence. They almost attain the velocity of their local surroundings. Moreover, the basic flow exerts a dominant influence on the motion of smaller droplet. The smaller droplets are easily entrained by the basic flow. On the contrary, the larger drop presents advantageous characteristics of coalescence due to its high velocity. The range of 0.3 mm < δR≤ 0.75 mm is the advantageous drop coalescence condition since the rapidly varied velocity and its first derivative theoretically cause the forces acting on a drop to become imbalanced. On the other hand, the thin layer of the continuous phase drained from the interval between the drops and trickling film should not be neglected in the calculation of shearing force since it is important for drop rotation. The drop rotation is an indispensable factor in coalescence.展开更多

Ana uses mental exercises and automatic writing to temporarily regress to a pre-rational state of consciousness where these parallel universes interpenetrate and cross in the locus of her subconscious. Writing for her is a form of possession that withdraws her fi'om her immediate reality into a visionary state resembling that of a shaman. She is a writer being invented and written by her own characters. Her stories are not fictions, but already existing realities, and she is a channel by which they are able to manifest their existence through her writing. This science fiction vision of worlds within worlds suggests another origin of science fiction in the ancient literary genre of Menippean satire, a type of fiction that appeals to highly cosmopolitan, alienated readers who seek to renew contact with the sources of consciousness from which technological and social change have alienated them.展开更多

She is a writer being invented and written by her own characters. Her stories are not fictions, but already existing realities, and she is a channel by which they are able to manifest their existence through her writing. This science fiction vision of worlds within worlds suggests another origin of science fiction in the ancient literary genre of Menippean satire, a type of fiction that appeals to highly cosmopolitan, alienated readers who seek to renew contact with the sources of consciousness from which technological and social change have alienated them.

文摘An improved weighted scale-free network, which has two evolution mechanisms: topological growth and strength dynamics, has been introduced. The topology structure of the model will be explored in details in this work. The evolution driven mechanism of Olami-Feder Christensen (OFC) model is added to our model to study the self-organlzed criticality and the dynamical behavior. We also.consider attack mechanism and the study of the model with attack is also investigated in this paper. We tlnd there are differences between the model with attack and without attack.
