The results showed that urban consumption growth made the most contribution to aggregate consumption growth, followed by urban-rural migration caused consumption. The role of rural consumption growth kept stable, but consumption caused by population growth was decreasing. On-line estimation of unmeasurable biological variables is important in fermentation processes,directly influencing the optimal control performance of the fermentation system as well as the quality and yield of the targeted product.In this study,a novel strategy for state estimation of fed-batch fermentation process is proposed.By combining a simple and reliable mechanistic dynamic model with the sample-based regressive measurement model,a state space model is developed.An improved algorithm,swarm energy conservation particle swarm optimization(SECPSO) ,is presented for the parameter identification in the mechanistic model,and the support vector machines(SVM) method is adopted to establish the nonlinear measurement model.The unscented Kalman filter(UKF) is designed for the state space model to reduce the disturbances of the noises in the fermentation process.The proposed on-line estimation method is demonstrated by the simulation experiments of a penicillin fed-batch fermentation process. 展开更多

A closed-loop subspace identification method is proposed for industrial systems subject to noisy input-output observations, known as the error-in-variables (EIV) problem. Using the orthogonal projection approach to eliminate the noise influence, consistent estimation is guaranteed for the deterministic part of such a system. A strict proof is given for analyzing the rank condition for such orthogonal projection, in order to use the principal component analysis (PCA) based singular value decomposition (SVD) to derive the extended observability matrix and lower triangular Toeliptz matrix of the plant state-space model. In the result, the plant state matrices can be retrieved in a transparent manner from the above matrices. An illustrative example is shown to demonstrate the effectiveness and merits of the proposed subspace identification method. 展开更多

A double-input–multi-output linearized system is developed using the state-space method for dynamic analysis of methanation process of coke oven gas.The stability of reactor alone and reactor with feed-effluent heat exchanger is compared through the dominant poles of the system transfer functions.With single or double disturbance of temperature and CO concentration at the reactor inlet,typical dynamic behavior in the reactor,including fast concentration response,slow temperature response and inverse response,is revealed for further understanding of the counteraction and synergy effects caused by simultaneous variation of concentration and temperature.Analysis results show that the stability of the reactor loop is more sensitive than that of reactor alone due to the positive heat feedback.Remarkably,with the decrease of heat exchange efficiency,the reactor system may display limit cycle behavior for a pair of complex conjugate poles across the imaginary axis. 展开更多

A novel idea,called the optimal shape subspace (OSS) is first proposed for optimizing active shape model (ASM) search.It is constructed from the principal shape subspace and the principal shape variance subspace.It allows the reconstructed shape to vary more than that reconstructed in the standard ASM shape space,hence it is more expressive in representing shapes in real life.Then a cost function is developed,based on a study on the search process.An optimal searching method using the feedback information provided by the evaluation cost is proposed to improve the performance of ASM alignment.Experimental results show that the proposed OSS can offer the maximum shape variation with reserving the principal information and a unique local optimal shape is acquired after optimal searching.The combination of OSS and optimal searching can improve the ASM performance greatly. 展开更多

A design and verification of linear state observers which estimate state information such as angular velocity and load torque for retraction control of the motorized seat belt (MSB) system were described. The motorized seat belt system provides functions to protect passengers and improve passenger's convenience. Each MSB function has its own required belt tension which is determined by the function's purpose. To realize the MSB functions, state information, such as seat belt winding velocity and seat belt tension are required. Using a linear state observer, the state information for MSB operations can be estimated without sensors. To design the linear state observer, the motorized seat belt system is analyzed and represented as a state space model which contains load torque as an augmented state. Based on the state space model, a linear state observer was designed and verified by experiments. Also, the retraction control of the MSB algorithm using linear state observer was designed and verified on the test bench. With the designed retraction control algorithm using the linear state observer, it is possible to realize various types of MSB functions. 展开更多

Monthly data from January, 2002, to October, 2010, were used to construct a v... Coal is the principal form of energy used in China. Hence, coal price variations are expected to have some influence on merchandise prices. Monthly data from January, 2002, to October, 2010, were used to construct a varying-parameter state space model, and an error correction model, to estimate the influence of coat prices on Chinese merchandise prices. The time lag and the dynamic relationship were determined from the data. A long term equilibrium relationship between coal price and the PPI, and the CPI, can be observed. The long term influence of coal price fluctuations on the PPI is 0.263%. The corresponding value for the CPI is 0.157%. The PPI shows an influence from coal price change in the first period of observation: by eight periods the influence is obvious, after which it diminishes. The effect of coal price change on the CPI is rather weak and has no long term memory. Analysis of variance shows a similar situation. The elas- ticity coefficient of coal prices on the CPI, or the PPI, fluctuates over the 2002-2004 period. From 2002 to 2007 the influence elasticity on the CPI declined and subsequently levelled off after 2009. 展开更多

State estimation of biological process variables directly influences the performance of on-line monitoring and op- timal control for fermentation process. A novel nonlinear state estimation method for fermentation process is proposed using cubature Kalman filter (CKF) to incorporate delayed measurements. The square-root version of CI(F (SCKF) algorithm is given and the system with delayed measurements is described. On this basis, the sample-state augmentation method for the SCKF algorithm is provided and the implementation of the proposed algorithm is constructed. Then a nonlinear state space model for fermentation process is established and the SCKF algorithm incorporating delayed measurements based on fermentation process model is presented to implement the nonlinear state estimation. Finally, the proposed nonlinear state estimation methodology is applied to the state estimation for penicillin and industrial yeast fermentation processes. The simulation results show that the on-fine state estimation for fermentation process can be achieved by the proposed method with higher esti- mation accuracy and better stability. 展开更多

To combat the well-known state-space explosion problem in Prop ositional Linear T emp o- ral Logic (PLTL) model checking, a novel algo- rithm capable of translating PLTL formulas into Nondeterministic Automata (NA) in an efficient way is proposed. The algorithm firstly transforms PLTL formulas into their non-free forms, then it further translates the non-free formulas into their Normal Forms (NFs), next constructs Normal Form Graphs (NFGs) for NF formulas, and it fi- nally transforms NFGs into the NA which ac- cepts both finite words and int-mite words. The experimental data show that the new algorithm re- duces the average number of nodes of target NA for a benchmark formula set and selected formulas in the literature, respectively. These results indi- cate that the PLTL model checking technique em- ploying the new algorithm generates a smaller state space in verification of concurrent systems. 展开更多

Dimensional control is one of the most important challenges in the shipbuilding industry. In order to predict assembly dimensional variation in hull flat block construction, a variation stream model based on state space was presented in this paper which can be further applied to accuracy control in shipbuilding. Part accumulative error, locating error, and welding deformation were taken into consideration in this model, and variation propagation mechanisms and the accumulative rule in the assembly process were analyzed. Then, a model was developed to describe the variation propagation throughout the assembly process. Finally, an example of fiat block construction from an actual shipyard was given. Obviously, these functions are harmonic but using power converters they can be strongly non-harmonic, sometimes piecewise constants with zero spaces between them. Then, one deals with power series of time pulses. The impulse switching functions which are orthogonal ones can be derived from these series. The new impulse switching functions are created using Z-transform, inverse Z-transform and numerical series/sequences. In addition, using displacement as a basic unknown quantity, the accurate analytical series solution for the problem of strata movement induced by extraction of horizontal seam is worked out when crosswise isotropic elastic layers are in sliding contact condition.
