Some university classrooms have been equipped with modem multimedia classrooms, computers, printers, scanners, recorders, projectors, digital cameras and other advanced electrical teaching equipment; which encourage teachers to collect and accumulate example materials and make auxiliary teaching of multimedia courseware. The teaching methods of pictures, texts, sound, dynamics and colors make the original boring teaching content, which is difficult to understand, become intuitive, vivid and easy to understand. The purpose of college English teaching is to enable students to master certain basic knowledge and skills in English, with some listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation ability, a simple verbal and written communication in daily activities and foreign business activities. Modem information technology provides a strong tecbaaical support to achieve this goal. Multimedia teaching methods widely used in teaching activities to vocational English class have brought a series of profound changes. Making full use of this method will bring great benefits for English teaching. Besides the unique advantages and the present situations of multimedia applied in English teaching, it is more important for us to find out its drawbacks in practical teaching process, such as the ineffective application of multimedia by teachers. Then, the related strategies mast be put forward improving the teaching facilities of multimedia. This paper mainly discusses the related strategies in order to create a better teaching environment and facilitate the training of teachers. After studying this paper, we will have a good knowledge of the multimedia teaching. Consequently, we can apply the multimedia into the traditional teaching. Multimedia resources are also very useful for teachers to meet the requirements in our modem society.
