He excelled in this era with his trend of magic realism. The Shadow Lines is a story told by a nameless narrator in recollection. It＇s a non linear tale told as if putting together the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle in the memory of the narrator. This style of writing is both unique and captivating; unfolding ideas together as time and space coalesce and helping the narrator understand his past better. Revolving around the theme of nationalism in an increasingly globalized world, Ghosh questions the real meaning of political freedom and the borders which virtually seem to both establish and separate. The novel traverses through almost seventy years through the memories of people, which the narrator recollects and narrates, giving their viewpoint along with his own. Though the novel is based largely in Kolkata, Dhaka, and London, it seems to echo the sentiments of whole Southeast Asia, with lucid overtones of Independence and the pangs of Partition.展开更多

From this period, certain art movements were seen as ...In Turkey, from the second half of the nineteenth century, the shaping of an art of painting on the basis of Western understanding was realized with state support. From this period, certain art movements were seen as the means of modernization and Westernization. Therefore, impressionism, cubism, realism, and classicism were supported by the state as a formal artistic understanding. This attitude continued until the 1940s and artists painted certain subject matters on the basis of these art movements. The main theme and subject matters were the presentations of an idealized society such as palace＇s life, attractive women in Western appearance, happy peasants, war heroes, and beautiful views from the country. In the early 1940s, significant breakup began to take place in point of the theme and the subject matter of art. Social realism began to take shape for the first time in art in Turkey. The artists of Yeniler Grubu （Newcomers Group） focused on social phenomena related disadvantaged social groups rather than an idealized society. Some artists among the 1950 generation, especially Nedim Gunsur, Nuri iyem, and Miimtaz Yener, focused on migration and social problems that occurred correspondingly in the 1960s and 1970s. The author＇s model includes synergy of artificial intelligence and augmented reality. This solution, which combines modem technologies in order to improve the activities related to the continuity of energy supply, and reduce costs associated with the time needed to carry out exploitation activities and employment of qualified staff, is presented. This paper presents both theoretical foundations as well as the development of technical systems. The characteristics of exploitation processes of energy systems and possible technical conditions, as well as factors characterizing them, are discussed. The physical and software structures of the system and individual modules, as well as dependencies connecting them are demonstrated. The dependencies between physical and logical elements during the exploitation processes of energy systems, that determine decisions related to the evaluation of technical states and related activities are described. The advantages and limitations of the developed model which connects methods of data processing and analysis, interactive visualization processes and possible areas of application are as well discussed in detailed.展开更多

Its benefit sharing subjects are the riparian countries. The shared benefits usually include flood prevention, power generation, navigation, irrigation, contributions to society and culture, etc. The benefit sharing modes mainly include shared benefits and responsibilities, reciprocal rights and obligations, equal benefit distribution, cost proportion-based benefit sharing, and demand-based benefit sharing. The first step in the realization process of benefit sharing is the sharing of data and information. Second is the benefit identification and evaluation. Third is the establishment of a mechanism to guarantee the benefit sharing. This will be based on an empirical corpus-based study of two modern Chinese versions of Gabriel Garcfa Marquez＇s One Hundred Years of Solitude. The case study reveals that in translating linguistic events, textual features and cultural phenomena that are unknown to the target audience, for example, magical realism, into Chinese, translators may adopt a range of translation strategies and tactics that lead to significant differences between the genre of the translation and the corre- sponding genre in the target language. New linguistic expressions and writing techniques introduced by experimental literary translation will either be normalised by existing writing conventions or be accepted by the target readership which in turn will expand and enrich the target language and cultural system.展开更多

First, we briefly present （1） the general process of pre-embodiment design with SMFs, （2） the procedures of creating genotypes and phenotypes of SMFs, （3） the specific procedure of instantiation of phenotypes of SMFs, and （4） the procedure of system model management and processing. Then, the chunks of information needed for instantiation of phenotypes of SMFs are discussed, and the ISCs designed for instantiation presented. Afterwards, the information management aspects of system modeling are addressed. Methodologically, system modeling involves （1） placement of phenotypes of SMF in the modeling space, （2） combining them towards the desired architecture and operation, （3） assigning values to the parameters and checking the satisfac- tion of constraints, and （4） storing the system model in the SMFs-based warehouse database.
