This has prompted drilling departments to continuously look for ways to reduce their drilling costs and be as efficient as possible. A system called the Drilling Comprehensive Information Management and Application System (DCIMAS) is developed and presented here, with an aim at collecting, storing and making full use of the valuable well data and information relating to all drilling activities and operations. The DCIMAS comprises three main parts, including a data collection and transmission system, a data warehouse (DW) management system, and an integrated platform of core applications. With the support of the application platform, the DW management system is introduced, whereby the operation data are captured at well sites and transmitted electronically to a data warehouse via transmission equipment and ETL (extract, transformation and load) tools. However, the conventional query languages (e. g. SQL and its extended versions) are not suitable for direct querying and updating of GML documents. Even the effective approaches working well with XML could not guarantee good results when applied to GML documents. Although XQuery is a powerful standard query language for XML, it is not proposed for querying spatial features, which constitute the most important components in GML documents. We propose GQL, a query language specification to support spatial queries over GML documents by extending XQuery. Instead of mining the complete set of frequent patterns, the new model only finds out the maximal frequent patterns, which can generate all frequent patterns. FP-growth algorithm is one of the most efficient frequent-pattern mining methods published so far. However, because FP-tree and conditional FP-trees must be two-way traversable, a great deal memory is needed in process of mining. This paper proposes an efficient algorithm Unid_FP-Max for mining maximal frequent patterns based on unidirectional FP-tree. Because of generation method of unidirectional FP-tree and conditional unidirectional FP-trees, the algorithm reduces the space consumption to the fullest extent. With the development of two techniques: single path pruning and header table pruning which can cut down many conditional unidirectional FP-trees generated recursively in mining process, Unid_FP-Max further lowers the expense of time and space.展开更多

IP names the attachment points(where) to facilitate ubiquitous interconnectivity as the current way to deliver data. The fundamental mismatch between data delivery and naming attachment points leads to a lot of challenges, e.g., mapping from data name to IP address, handling dynamics of underlying topology, scaling up the data distribution, and securing communication, etc. Informationcentric networking(ICN) is proposed to shift the focus of communication paradigm from where to what, by making the named data the first-class citizen in the network, The basic consensus of ICN is to name the data independent from its container(space dimension) and session(time dimension), which breaks the limitation of point-to-point IP semantic. It scales up data distribution by utilizing available resources, and facilitates communication to fit diverse connectivity and heterogeneous networks. However, there are only a few consensuses on the detailed design of ICN, and quite a few different ICN architectures are proposed. This paper reveals the rationales of ICN from the perspective of the Internet evolution, surveys different design choices, and discusses on two debatable topics in ICN, i.e.,self-certifying versus hierarchical names, and edge versus pervasive caching. We hope this survey helps clarify some mis-understandings on ICN and achieve more consensuses.展开更多

Database is a relatively advanced data management technology, but its Major defects are the poor graphic and spatial data functions, from which it is difficult to realize scientific management of evaluation data with spatial characteristics and evaluation result maps. On account of these deficiencies, the evaluation of degree of complexity of mining fault network, based on GIS, is proposed, which integrates management of spatial and attribute data. Fractal is an index which can reflect the comprehensive information of faults' number, density, size, composition and dynamics mechanism. Fractal dimension is used as the quantitative evaluation index. Evaluation software has been developed based on a component GIS-MapX, with which the degree of complexity of fault network is evaluated quantitatively using the quantitative index of fractal dimensions in Liuqiao No.2 coal mine as an example. Results show that it is effective in acquiring model parameters and enhancing the definition of data and evaluation results with the application of GIS technology. The fault network is a system with fractal structure and its complexity can be described reasonably and accurately by fractal dimension, which provides an effective method for coal resource evaluation.展开更多

This paper describes a topographic map generalization system recently developed by the authors. The system has the following characteristics: 1) taking advantage of three levels of automation, i.e. fully automated generalization, batch generalization, and interactive generalization, to undertake two types of processes, i.e. intelligent inference process and repetitive operation process in generalization; 2) making use of two kinds of sources for generalizing rule library, i.e. written specifications and cartographers' experiences, to define a six-element structure to describe the rules; 3) employing a hierarchical structure for map databases, logically and physically; 4) employing a grid indexing technique and undo/redo operation to improve database retrieval and object generalization efficiency. Two examples of topographic map generalization are given to demonstrate the system. It reveals that the system works well. The OIS (obstruction identification surfaces) represent these regulations, identify objects that penetrate these imaginary surfaces, evaluate hazardous effects, and ensure safe separations of aircraft from obstructions. The OIS evaluation is often used for selecting airfield locations and runway orientations. More importantly, the OIS evaluation is an airport's safeguard against flawed urban development, especially for airports near rapidly expanding cities. Without accurate analysis tools, hand-calculation errors on the OIS can occur and cause adverse impacts to airport safety. Applying the GIS (geographic information system) features of geospatial data and 3D formats, this paper proposes a model named GIS Obstruction Model which is capable of precisely calculating maximum allowable heights and creating visual imagery of penetrating obstructions. The special features of the model include web-based design, adaptability to any airport, user-friendly multiple inquiry methods, quick response to online inquiries, and response with 3D visual reality. The proposed G1S Obstruction Model is useful for airport planning, architecture design, safety management or civil engineering permit review.展开更多

Since the existing methods are still not satisfactory in practice, the inter-connectivity among multiple representa- tions can be only achieved if the multi-scale model is capable of explicitly inter-relating them and dealing with their differences. So, this paper firstly explores the relation among multiple representations from the same entity, such as multi-semantic, multi-geometry, multi-attributes, hierarchical semantic relations and so on. Based on these, this paper proposes aggregation-based semantic hierarchical matching rules (ASHMR) as the basis of tackling inter-connectivity among multi-representations, and defines the available hierarchical semantic knowledge, namely semantically equal, semantically related and semantically irrelevant. According to different change among multi-representations from dif- ferent types of objects, the applications and techniques of the corresponding hierarchy inter-connectivity matching crite- rion are explored.
