[Method] Different concentrations of trace elements Fe and B were added into peanut coating agent, then the germination rate and plant height of the seeds treated by different agents were measured to decide the best formula. [Result] The germination rate and plant height of the seeds treated with seed coating agent was obviously increased. Adding trace elements Fe and B could increase the peanut yield, and 1.5% Fe and 1% B gave the best result. [Conclusion] This study will provide reference for modifying the seed coating agent formula.展开更多
In a typical tension leg platform (TLP) design,the top tension factor (TTF),measuring the top tension of a top tensioned riser (TTR) relative to its submerged weight in water,is one of the most important design parame...In a typical tension leg platform (TLP) design,the top tension factor (TTF),measuring the top tension of a top tensioned riser (TTR) relative to its submerged weight in water,is one of the most important design parameters that has to be specified properly. While a very small TTF may lead to excessive vortex induced vibration (VIV),clashing issues and possible compression close to seafloor,an unnecessarily high TTF may translate into excessive riser cost and vessel payload,and even has impacts on the TLP sizing and design in general. In the process of a production TTR design,it is found that its outer casing can be subjected to compression in a worst-case scenario with some extreme metocean and hardware conditions. The present paper shows how finite element analysis (FEA) models using beam elements and two different software packages (Flexcom and ABAQUS) are constructed to simulate the TTR properly,and especially the pipe-in-pipe effects. An ABAQUS model with hybrid elements (beam elements globally + shell elements locally) can be used to investigate how the outer casing behaves under compression. It is shown for the specified TTR design,even with its outer casing being under some local compression in the worst-case scenario,dynamic buckling would not occur;therefore the TTR design is adequate.展开更多

Industrial symbiosis, a sub-field of industrial ecology, engages traditionally separate industries in a collective approach, involving exchange of materials, energy, water, and/or by-products, to enhance competitive ability and environmental performance. To construct a symbiosis analysis method, this article employs a number of parameters embodying information about materials, energy and economics as the main essential parameters in system analysis and introduces symbiosis profit and symbiotic consumption elements as the economic indicators. A modeling and simulation program is designed using the agent-based modeling approach to simulate the evolvement of a hypothetical coal-based industrial system and the change of symbiosis conditions in the process of construction is examined. The simulation program built using the Swarm library, which is a freely available multi-agent simulation package, provides a useful demonstration for the symbiosis analysis method.展开更多

It first reviews the definition and objectives of TPM, clarifies how TPM supports lean objectives, and suggests seven steps and essential elements for Chinese enterprises to implement TPM systematically and successfully. The paper also puts the steps and essential elements into practice in a Chinese enterprise, which are proven effective and we hope the proposals are helpful for Chinese enterprises to change their extensive operation in equipment management.展开更多
Overabundant and unbalanced input of nutritional elements to soil has a negative effect to the yield and quality of lettuce. Accumulation of nitrates and harmful effects of the chloride ion are the reasons why there i...Overabundant and unbalanced input of nutritional elements to soil has a negative effect to the yield and quality of lettuce. Accumulation of nitrates and harmful effects of the chloride ion are the reasons why there is a need to establish an optimal quantity and relation of nutrients in lettuce nourishment. In the experiment which was carried out during years 2010 and 2011 on the farm of Secondary Agricultural Boarding School in Futog, nitrate content in a fresh mass of lettuce (mg NO3/kg) was obesrved, in dependence on applied compound fertilizers produced by different technologies at different quantities of nitrate and potassium fertilizers. The results of the research show that in a technological ripeness, the highest average lettuce yield has been obtained in the treatment where the highest dosage of nitrate fertilizers was used in spring, in a combination with complex fertilizers in autumn. The lowest average yield has been obtained on the control plot. The highest average nitrate concentration in a fresh lettuce mass has been recorded in using technology of applying mixed fertilizers and the smallest in using a technology of complex fertilizers. At the moment of harvest, the highest nitrogen content in a dry mass of a plant has been recorded when complex fertilizers of phosphorus and potassium were used by the technology of mixed fertilizers.展开更多

In the process they emit a powerful burst of neutrinos,produce a variety of elements, and leave behind either a neutron star or a black hole. The wide mass range for SN progenitors results in diverse neutrino signals, explosion energies, and nucleosynthesis products. A major mechanism to produce nuclei heavier than iron is rapid neutron capture, or the r process. This process may be connected to SNe in several ways. A brief review is presented on current understanding of neutrino emission, explosion, and nucleosynthesis of SNe.展开更多
