目的:使用低温高压差提取与多级膜分离浓缩结合技术,提取中药复方活性成分,观察其对脱发模型小鼠毛发生长的影响。方法:在前期的工作基础上,设计中药复方2组,并使用低温高压差提取与多级膜分离浓缩结合技术提取其活性成分。以纯净水为... 目的:使用低温高压差提取与多级膜分离浓缩结合技术,提取中药复方活性成分,观察其对脱发模型小鼠毛发生长的影响。方法:在前期的工作基础上,设计中药复方2组,并使用低温高压差提取与多级膜分离浓缩结合技术提取其活性成分。以纯净水为阴性对照,以5%米诺地尔为阳性对照,将复方活性成分,涂擦小鼠脱毛区,记录小鼠新生毛发生长时间,并观察小鼠毛囊组织学变化。结果:与阴性对照(纯净水)相比,2组中药复方活性成分可加快小鼠生发进程,并且在毛囊数目上存在统计学差异。2组中药复方活性成分均可达到阳性对照相似效果。结论:葛根、桑叶、苦参、何首乌、侧柏、甘草、黄芪、女贞子、以及X成分按一定比例所组成的复方合剂,可促进脱发模型小鼠毛发的生长。 展开更多

In this article,a steady-state mathematical model was developed and experimentally evaluated to inves- tigate the effect of influent flow distribution and volume ratios of anoxic and aerobic zones in each stage on the to- tal nitrogen concentration of the effluent in the step-feed biological nitrogen removal process.Unlike the previous modeling methods,this model can be used to calculate the removal rates of ammonia and nitrate in each stage and thereby predict the concentrations of ammonia,nitrate,and total nitrogen in the effluent.To verify the simulation results,pilot-scale experimental studies were carried out in a four-stage step feed process.Good correlations were achieved between the measured data and the simulation results,which proved the validity of the developed model. The sensitivity of the model predictions was analyzed.After verification of the validity,the step feed process was optimally operated for five months using the model and the criteria developed for the design and operation.During the pilot-scale experimental period,the effluent total nitrogen concentrations were all below 5mg·L -1 ,with more than 90%removal efficiency. 展开更多

The technical feasibility and economy of solar heat collection-forced evaporation process are the keys to its practicality,especially its application in strong brine treatment.The operation cost of applying solar collection in salt manufacturing through depth evaporation of brine has been studied.For Na^+,K^+,Mg^2+//Cl^-,SO4^2--H2O salt–water system,most of the Na Cl and all of the Carnallite were separated.The operation cost reached the optimum when the heat collection and evaporation were controlled at 75 and 55℃,respectively.When the solar radiation amount was 19557 kJ·m^-2·d^-1,the solar collector area for producing Carnallite was about 34.27 m^2·(t salt)^-1,and the operation cost was 13 USD·(t salt)^-1.The energy consumption of salt manufacturing is at least 25%higher than that of natural evaporation.Regarding the economy,the solar assisted salt manufacturing process is recommended to be performed at a production scale of more than 20 tons per day. 展开更多

The by-product of curd, usually is discarded, can be fermented using either Neurospora (Neurospora sitophila) or Rhizopus (Rhizopus oligosporus) yeast to make oncom Genistein is a phytoestrogen, an estrogen-like chemical compound present in plants, that has anti-inflammatory property. Genistein can be determined by UV spectrophotometric method based on the UV absorbance of its complex with aluminum chloride. Addition of acid is a critical point in the procedure. The aim of this research was to know whether genistein is still contained in oncom This research also studied about oncom's activity on carrageenan-induced mice. Acetosal was used as drug control. Result showed that genistein was detected contained in oncom extract. The in vivo assay indicated that oncom extract (dose 1,000 mg/kg of body weight) reduced oedema in carragenan-induced paw of mice, which potencies were 066 times lower than that of acetosal's. Oncom might be useful as food and as a weak inflammation reducer as well. 展开更多

Advances in molecular cell biology over the last de- cade have clarified the mechanisms involved in can- cer growth, invasion, and metastasis, and enabled the development of molecular-targeted agents. To date, sorafenib is the only molecular-targeted agent whose survival benefit has been demonstrated in two global phase 111 randomized controlled trials, and has been approved worldwide. Phase 111 clinical trials of other molecular targeted agents comparing them with sorafenib as first-line treatment agents are ongoing. Those agents target the vascular endothelial growth factor, platelet-derived growth factor receptors, as well as target the epidermal growth factor receptor, insulin- like growth factor receptor and mammalian target of rapamycin, in addition to other molecules targeting other components of the signal transduction pathways. In addition, the combination of sorafenib with standard treatment, such as resection, ablation, transarterial em- bolization, and hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy are ongoing. This review outlines the main pathways involved in the development and progression of hepato- cellular carcinoma and the new agents that target these pathways. Finally, the current statuses of clinical trials of new agents or combination therapy with sorafenib and standard treatment will also be discussed. 展开更多

A middle size experiental wave generator has been implemented is the Ujikawa Open Laboratory, Disaster Prevention Research Institute, Kyoto University. The generator is composed of a pistontype wave maker, a head strage water tank and a current generator to mainly reproduce long waves like tsunami and storm surge. The paper desribes several experimental series to predict the applicability of the generator to model tests. The three operating sysemes are capable to be controlled in one operating sysytem and start time is contorolled separately according with the target tsunami and storm surge profiles. A sharp tsunami profile is reproduced in adjusting the start timing of piston type wave maker and opening gates of head storage tunk. Any type of tsunami waves are reproduced in the generator and it becomes a storong tool to predict the effective of"resiliency" of hardwares. 展开更多

METHODS: The new apparatus (Patent No. 201120101911.5) includes air renewal and recycling systems, a gas generating device, a gas control unit, and a device to measure and control tem- perature and humidity. Sprague-dawley rats were tested for acute and sub-chronic toxicity after exposure to moxa-burning smoke.METHODS: The new apparatus (Patent No. 201120101911.5) includes air renewal and recycling systems, a gas generating device, a gas control unit, and a device to measure and control tem- perature and humidity. Sprague-dawley rats were tested for acute and sub-chronic toxicity after exposure to moxa-burning smoke.RESULTS: We found an LQ0 of 1.2× 10^4 mg/m^3 in the acute toxicity assays. In sub-chronic toxicity tests the organ coefficients studied showed no sig-nificant differences within rats groups of the same gender after treatment with moxa smoke or a month of recovery. However, mean gray degree of lung 70 heat shock protein (HSP70) was significantly elevated in the high dose group in comparison with the low dose group (P 〈 0.05), mean gray degree, mean optical density, gross area of HSP70 in other organs and caspase-9 parameters showed no significant differences between groups.CONCLUSION: These results suggest that moxa smoke had no overt toxicity in rats. This work pro- vides evidence and reference for the design of dy- namic inhalation exposure systems. 展开更多

Investigation on Effect of Forestation by Mixing Pinus massoniana with Schima superba

Since forestation of pure forest of Pinus massoniana is liable to suffer from pest calamity, soilerosion, decrease of soil fertility, and difficulty in wood production in the hilly areas of southern China, weconducted an investigation on the three types of forests in Gaoan County of Jiangxi Province, namely, thepure forest of Pinus massoniana, the pure forest of Schima superba, and the mixed forest consisting of thetwo species, setting up standard stand, measuring and studying the growing stock, biomass, leaf area, roots,soil, vegetation, pests, litters, soil erosion, microclimate, etc., with the following results. ① The averageheight, diameter at chest height, and volume of the mixed forest are higher than those of the pure forest ofPinus massoniana by 30.9%, 31.7% and 10.6%, respectively. ② The biomass of the mixed forest is 2.24times as much as that of the pure forest of Pinus massoniana. ③ The litters of the mixed forest is 3.37 timesand 1.96 times as much as the litters of the pure forest of Pinus massoniana and the pure forest of Schimasuperba respectively. ④ The occurrence of pest calamity per tree is lower and the conditions of soil erosionand microclimate are better than those of the pure forest of Pinus massoniana. ⑤ The mixed forest of the twospecies is an excellent mixed type of needle-leaf and deciduous forest worth being popularized in Chinassubtropical areas, especially in the low hilly areas. It is recommended in plantation that the mixed patterns bebetween trees, lines, small blocks, or scattered-dots, the ratio of mixture of Pinus massoniana and Schimasuperba be 5 to 1, or 3 to 1, and the initial space between trees be 1.2, 1.5, or 2.0 m while the initial densitybe 6 944 to 4 440 trees per square hectare. 展开更多

Background and objective:The benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy for patients treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(NCRT)and curative surgery remains controversial,particularly among those responding well to NCRT.This retrospective study aimed to clarify the benefits of adjuvant chemotherapy in terms of the oncological outcomes of patients with ypT0–2N0 rectal cancer after NCRT and curative surgery.Methods:All patients with ypT0–2N0 rectal cancer after NCRT and curative resection between 2005 and 2014 were examined.The oncological outcomes between patients treated with adjuvant chemotherapy and those without any chemotherapy were compared.Results:The clinicopathological characteristics of 110 patients were reviewed in this study;one patient was excluded due to lack of follow-up.Of the 109 patients included,58(53.2%)underwent adjuvant chemotherapy(chemo group),whereas the remaining 51(46.8%)did not receive any chemotherapy(non-chemo group).After a median follow-up of 50 months,there were no significant differences in the 5-year overall survival(OS)or recurrence-free survival(RFS)rates between the groups(OS:92.1 vs 86.3%,P=0.375;RFS:80.9 vs 74.7%,P=0.534).Subgroup analysis also demonstrated no significant differences in 5-year OS and RFS rates between patients with ypT0N0 rectal cancer(P=0.712 and P=0.599,respectively)and those with ypT1–2N0 disease(P=0.255 and P=0.278,respectively).Conclusions:These results indicate that patients with ypT0–2N0 rectal cancer after NCRT followed by curative surgery may not derive significant benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy.However,further prospective randomized trials,with larger sample sizes,are warranted to confirm this conclusion. 展开更多
