The book of changes of China: The great ultimate - two states - four images - eight hexagrams are life science and thought science theories, which represent the fundamental mode of universal unification, i.e. represent l) structural mode, operational mode, generation mode and evolution mode of life; 2) the four states that life has simultaneously: 0 dimension, ] dimension, 2 dimension, 3 dimension, and these four states have different structural and operational modes respectively; 3) the breathing and four seasonal trajectories of celestial bodies; 4) three generation modes of life: generation by transformation, generation by augmentation, and self-generation; 5) five dynamics systems inside life; 6) the sublimation and degration of life in the universe, the unification of religion and science; 7) the classification mode of the universal being; 8) the derivation mode of life; 9) the transformation between different forms of life in the universe; 10) the unification of six grand forces in the universe. The cytotoxicity of abamectin to the Gill Cell Line of Flounder (FG cell line) was examined in this study. It was found that the exposure of FG cells to abamectin caused the decreases of both cell growth rate and antioxidant enzyme activities, and the increase of intracellular 02 content. It was proposed that the reduction of antioxidant enzyme activities in FG cells caused the accumulation of 02 content in FG cells, leading to the change of cell morphology and even the death of cells. The results showed that FG cell line is suitable for the evaluation of the acute toxicity of abamectin. 展开更多

Molecular imaging by using isotopic tracers can noninvasively visualize the chemistry or hidden process in the cells and tissues inside the body, obtaining "functional" images to provide early information of any disease and revealing the secrets of life. The vitality of nuclear medicine is its ability to translate bench into new clinical application that can benefits the patients. Although nuclear medicine community in China has made significant achievement with a great effort since 1950s, there are many obstacles to future development. Personal ethics are strongly influenced by emotions, particularly secondary emotions, because these emotions expand ethical reasoning and development as the child matures. A well-developed consciousness profoundly influences a person's actions and conduct when solving problems of what is thought, or taught to be, right or wrong Compelling neurological evidence supports the claim that children begin to develop enduring ethical standards at an early age and that these standards are largely based on the experiences of early childhood. Essentially, the innate sense of ethics requires nurturing during infancy before it can be cognitively understood and practiced in maturity. In biological terms, the development of neural networks that regulate emotional growth, and subsequently, the capacity for ethical discrimination, depends on the infant's early social environment. Thus, the toddler's early epigenetic experiences enhance, or impede, its innate still dormant genetic potential. Importantly, personal character development and ethical discrimination begins long before the child's formal educational years. As a consequence, early learning has to discover ways of conserving adaptive thinking which can be applied to the choices that may confront future generations. Early ethics education, including accurate access to scientific, medical, and technological knowledge, is thus critical. Future generations will increasingly require education from a global perspective when making major ethical decisions in areas, such as nuclear technology, disposal of wastes, preservation of biodiversity, global warming, and unregulated human population growth. As long as our culture continues to reflect advances in science and technology, there is an obligation to make science education overlap with crucial periods in the advancement of ethical consciousness. Significantly, when considering the human capacity for excess at times of conflict, it is incumbent on the scientific community to integrate research-based knowledge with wide-ranging learning and problem-solving skills. Bioscience ethics, the established interface bridging applied science and applied bioethics, can assist in this process of integration. To become fully responsible adults, we must share our extraordinary cognitive talents and respect life on earth in all its rich diversity. In biological terms, human uniqueness resides primarily in our brains with its products being co-operation in family and ancestral units, long education, sophisticated language and culture, and importantly, ethical consciousness-all attributes held in trust by knowledge and wisdom for future generations. 展开更多

Very close to language-games is a concept that is important but did not attract much attention, the one of paradigm. In this paper this concept is analyzed together with notions such as context, use, reference, language-games, reality, science, truth, method, propositions, among others by means of which a new view of epistemology emerges. As for Kuhn, paradigm is his most known notion and his biggest contribution to innovate the history of science. I contrast these two conceptions and conclude that they have different uses, and that some difficulties that emerge from Kuhn's concept of paradigm would be dissolved if we take into consideration Witt^enstein's aooroaches of language and the uses it has in our life forms. 展开更多

Interests in intracellular peptide delivery have continued to grow,significantly fueled by the importance of peptides and their mimetics in modern cell biology and pharmaceutical industry.However,efficient intracellular delivery of membrane-impermeable peptides of different polarities remains a challenging task.In this study,we develop a general and robust strategy for intracellular peptide delivery by using a boronic acid-rich dendrimer.The designed material is capable of transporting peptides with different polarities and charge properties into the cytosol of various cell lines without inducing additional cytotoxicity.The transduction efficacy and proteolytic stability of cargo peptides delivered by the boronic acid-rich dendrimer are much superior to peptides conjugated with cell penetrant peptides such as octaarginine.In addition,the bioactivities of pro-apoptotic peptides are maintained after intracellular delivery.This study provides a versatile and robust platform for the intracellular delivery of membrane-impermeable peptides. 展开更多
