NOS activity was first observed in the optic primordium and the lens placode at 5-somite stage, and remained basically unchanged up to the prim-5 stage. Upon hatching, NOS activity was nearly equally detected in the gangalion cell layer and the photoreceptor layer in the developing retina. However, it began declining in the inner plexiform layer and the inner nuclear layer at this stage. NOS activity disappeared in the lens although the anterior lens epithelium was strongly stained. Two days after hatching, NOS activity was still strong in the photoreceptor layer, but decreased markedly in the gangalion cell layer, the inner plexiform layer and the inner nuclear layer with the retinal patterning. These suggested that nitric oxide (NO), the product of NOS, is not only involved in the modulation of patterning and differentiation of the retinal cells but also in the regulation of proliferation, and differentiation of the lens fibrocytes.展开更多

Terms contour biotopes and contourobiont's communities we...Because of permanent matter and energy accumulation in the sea marginal biotopes, communities of organisms adapted to these specific conditions are developed. Terms contour biotopes and contourobiont's communities were proposed. These habitats are populated by a great variety of organisms with numerical superiority of early stages of development of hydrobionts. Therefore, contour biotopes are responsible for the reproduction of many species of plants and animals, including commercialiy ~rnportant species of invertebrate and fish. But as a result of natural physical and chemical processes, the same habitats accumulate many substances that are harmful to living organisms, especially for early ontogenetic stages. So here formed main hotspots, critical ecological zones in seas and oceans, which need to be monitored in the first place. Understanding of the key role of contour biotopes and communities in marine ecological processes development is an ecological imperative. Making of ecological diagnoses, prediction of possible departures from the ecological norm and prevention of serious negative events in the marine environment needs special consideration of contour biotopes and their inhabitants, which are underestimated in traditional marine biological and ecological investigations.展开更多

It materializes knowledge and involvement of people and society. Expansion of business activities is a source of individual country's economic performance. It contributes to the development of people's living standards. In every market economy, it represents an irreplaceable role for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A strong representation of"micro-enterprises" can be found in the field of personal services. Companies within the course of their existence go through particular stages of their development--from their foundation through the stage of steady development. After this stage, there comes their decline that can develop even into their termination. We indicate this process as a company life cycle. The aim of the submitted project is to map the life cycle of particularly chosen companies providing accommodation and catering services and to find a mutual relation among observed quantities and their stable economic positions in the market. The analysis is based on the data of macro-economic character, the data about development of receipts in the sector, development of inflation, tempo of economic growth, and development of consumer prices. Out of a company, non-financial factors will also be considered. The core of the analysis is the stage of sustainable stability of the assessed companies. The point of the findings is revelation of the causes of risks of possible transition into the stage of termination due to the decline of services volume, decline of profitability, and long-lasting payment insolvency. The contribution of the project is to draw our attention to possible risks of critical situation development and to propose how to avoid them so that the company will not occur in financial straits. Achieved information could assist the company management to make relevant decisions.展开更多
Objective: To study the effect of standard large trauma craniotomy(SLTC) on outcomes of patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) (GCS≤8). Methods: 230 patients with severe TBI were randomly divided into two ...Objective: To study the effect of standard large trauma craniotomy(SLTC) on outcomes of patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) (GCS≤8). Methods: 230 patients with severe TBI were randomly divided into two groups. 115 patients underwent SLTC (10 cm×12 cm) as an SLTC group, and other 115 patients underwent temporo parietal or fronto temporal craniotomy (6 cm×8 cm) according to the position of hematomas as a routine craniotomy (RC) group. Other treatments were identical in two groups. According to Glasgow outcome scale (GOS), the prognosis of the patients was evaluated and the complications were compared between two groups. Results: 27 patients got good outcome and moderate disability ( 23.5 %), 40 severe disability and vegetative survival ( 34.8 %), and 48 died ( 41.7 %) in SLTC group. 21 patients got good outcome and moderate disability ( 18.3 %), 28 severe disability and vegetative survival ( 24.3 %), and 66 died ( 57.4 %) in RC group. The incidence of incision hernia was lower in SLTC group than in RC group. However, the incidence of operative encephalocele, traumatic epilepsy and intracranial infection were not different in two groups. Conclusions: Standard large trauma craniotomy significantly reduces the mortality of patients with severe TBI without serious complications, but does not improve the life quality of the patients.展开更多
