专任“晓庄学校生活部部长”——“张宗麟在晓庄”系列研究之二

张宗麟于1928年8月,辞去南京特别市教育局指导员之职,选择追随陶行知,由晓庄的兼职人员,一变为专职骨干。他此后便身任三职:一为担任晓庄学校"生活部"部长;二为暂代"晓庄教育局"局长;三为兼任校刊《乡教丛讯》执行主编。晓庄的事业,在他的尽力协助下,虽有了较大发展;然而在他的内心,不仅因疏离了幼稚教育而感到失落,而且也因晓庄学校发展的混乱无序而焦心。晓庄在外的名声与其内在的困顿,实为一对复杂的矛盾。"张宗麟在晓庄"的第二阶段,可视为这对矛盾的郁积期。正是在张宗麟的勉力维持和积极协调下,才延缓了诸多矛盾的爆发。

20世纪末的苏格兰小说多以苏格兰城市为背景书写当地的社会现实,阿拉斯代尔·格雷的代表作《兰纳克:生活四部书》作为这一时期极具影响力的作品,既反映苏格兰的"微观"历史和政治,又暗讽西方社会的"宏观"意识形态。本文从文学想象与现实关照的角度解读这部"反乌托邦"小说,分析小说对苏格兰城市格拉斯哥的虚实书写,以及主人公对自我身份的追寻,探究小说反乌托邦叙事的讽刺性,指出该小说揭示了苏格兰人对民族文化和身份的焦虑,同时暗讽了西方政治体系中反人性和专制的方面。

旅游与生活关系的时间模式

旅游与生活是两套时间系统, 各有各的时间模式, 但两者之间存在着连接问题.文章总结了关于时间的哲学认识, 进而认为时间是非物质性的, 其与物质的空间相对, 只要摆脱了物质的功利观, 人们便可直观旅游的时间性.从时间的精神价值出发, 笔者认为旅游时间是由物质与精神两部分组成的, 精神部时间具有增长意义, 其长于同时被消耗掉的物质时间, 因而其在生活时间相连时会出现弯曲现象.笔者进而将旅游与生活的时间模式,喻为如同 “D”、“B”、“H”、“I” 与 “R” 等字母样态.可将旅游时间比喻为一颗时间树, 而非一个连续的由一段一段连接起来时间线, 可非线性地繁荣旅游的时间系统.

论《兰纳克:生活四部书》中的后现代时空结构

在后现代主义作品中,现实往往被解构成为反讽的对象。当代著名苏格兰作家阿拉斯代尔·格雷的代表作《兰纳克生活四部书》就明显地反映出这一特征。这部小说以现实生活中的格拉斯哥为背景,将现实与虚幻混淆,在形式与内容上都打破了传统的时空概念,以独特的方式解构了现实。它在呈现出后现代主义创作种种特点的同时,又体现出某种统一性。本文通过对这部小说的具体分析,揭示其在时空结构上的后现代主义创作特点,进而探讨它为文学创作所带来的启示。

In-vitro anticoagulant activity of fucoidan derivatives from brown seaweed Laminaria japonica

Fucoidan, a group of sulfated heteropolysaccharides, was extracted from Laminaria japonica, an important economic alga species in China. The anticoagulant activity of fucoidan and its derivatives (including sulfated, phosphorylated, and aminated fucoidan) was examined using in-vitro anticoagulant systems. The correlation between chemical variations within the fucoidan group and anticoagulant activity was determined. The in-vitro anticoagulant properties of fucoidan and its derivatives were determined by measuring activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothrombin time (PT), and thrombin time (TT). The results indicate anticoagulant activity in all samples using APTT and TT assays; however, only the fucoidan derivatives affected the PT assay. Thus, the fucoidan derivatives were able to inhibit both intrinsic and extrinsic blood coagulants. Fucoidan (FPS) and its derivatives presented better anticoagulant activity than low molecular weight fucoidan (DFPS) and its derivatives, suggesting that molecular weight and proper conformation are contributing factors for anticoagulant activity of polysaccharides. Amino groups have a positive charge and can thus change the charge density of fucoidan. Accordingly, among the tested samples, aminated fucoidan (NF) was the most active reflecting the importance of charge density for anticoagulant activity. Available data obtained using in-vitro models suggest that the sulfate content, sulfate/total-sugar ratio, molecular weight, and the substituted group of fucoidan are important factors for anticoagulant activity but that the influence of sulfate, phosphate and amino groups on anticoagulant activity was different.

Differences of Physiological and Biochemical Indexes of Upper Fresh Leaves and Post-growth Roots in Different Quality Stages

In order to explore the physiological and biochemical characteristics of fresh upper leaves and roots of different qualities of tobacco, the malonaldehyde （MDA）, superoxide dismutase （SOD） activity, chlorophyllase activity, amylase activity, medium trace element content, chemical component content, root fresh weight, dry weight and activity in the normal tobacco leaves, tobacco leaves rich in nutrients and premature grey tobacco leaves were studied. The results showed that compared with the normal tobacco leaves, the root fresh weight, dry weight and activity in the premature grey tobacco leaves decreased by 41.22%, 14.44% and 60.29% respectively, while malonaldehyde content increased by 34.82%, and chlorophyllase, α-amylase, β-amylase and SOD activity declined by 89.55%, 65.71%, 71.26% and 37.25% respectively. Chlorophyllase, co-amylase and 13-amylase activity in the tobacco leaves rich in nutrients decreased by 58.76%, 36.19% and 41.93% respectively. The content of medium trace elements in the tobacco leaves rich in nutrients and premature grey tobacco leaves was lower than that of the normal tobacco leaves. Starch, total sugar, reducing sugar and potassium content in the normal tobacco leaves were higher than that of the tobacco leaves rich in nutrients and premature grey tobacco leaves.

Discovery of the Exquisite Meaning of the Word “chudu” in Chinese Poetry of the Adherents of a Former Dynasty

The word “chudu” comes from Qu Yuan’s Li Sao “huang lan kui yu chu du xi, zhao ci yu yi jia ming”. The original meaning was the day of birth. After the Song Dynasty, the literati began to use it to refer to birthdays. By the end of the Ming Dynasty, they had been calling their birthdays “chudu” once they celebrated it and they were so keen on birthday celebrations. Gu Yanwu pointed out that the word “chudu” only fits “the old ministers （or the exiled ministers） who lamented the crash of the Yingcapital of the country of “Chu” such as Qu Yuan. At the same time, its use in Huang Zongxi’s and Wang Fuzhi’s birthday poems is also consistent with this context. The unique situation and mood of the adherents led them to be close to Qu Yuan and Wen Tianxiang, which bestowed “chudu” the special meaning. It is very suitable for the ministers who suffered the crash of their Dynasties or those who were exiled distantly to express their feelings about the old dynasties and old friends. After these people, Chen Yinke consciously acknowledged this layer of interpreting “chudu” and used it, which has not only enriched the connotation of “chudu”, but also extended its cultural life. From Qu Yuan to Wen Tianxiang, until Gu Yanwu, Huang Zongxi, Wang Fuzhi, and then to Chen Yinke, we can take a glimpse of the spiritual world of the Chinese adherents of Dynasties.

Regeneration ecology and population status of a critically endangered and endemic tree species （Ilex khasiana Purk.） in north-eastern India

Detailed studies on population structure and regeneration ecology ofllex khasiana were carried out at five representative natural populations i.e. Mylliem （Population - I）, Upper Shillong （Population - II）, Shillong Peak （Population -III）, Laitkor （Population - IV） and Nongpiyur （Population - V） to probe into the responsible affecting factors for its population structure and regeneration ability in these populations. Experimental observation under three controlled light conditions （full sunlight （100%）, intermediate sunlight （50%） and low sunlight （30%）） showed that the growth status and survival rates of seedlings under intermediate and low light were better than those under the high light condition. The density-diameter distribution in population of adult trees （〉Scm dbh） exhibited a typical character of a regenerating population. A higher seedling mortality rate in natural populations of I. khasiana was most probably due to increase in light intensity following vegetation destruction and other anthropogenic disturbances that cause opening of forest canopy. The findings of the present study would be of immense value in formulating appropriate conservation measures for the species.

Effect of selective uterine artery embolization on symptomatic uterine fibroids

Objective： To evaluate the outcomes of selective uterine artery embolization （SUAE） in treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids using Color Doppler ultrasonography （CDUS）. Methods： As the procedure SUAE for fibroids, prospective data of the initial 65 consecutive women treated from March 2007 to September 2009 were collected. The follow-up period from 1 week to 30 months, using questionnaires, we investigated the fibroid-related physical and psychological symptoms, and the cumulative rates of symptom control, gynecologic interventions, and complications. The volumes of uterine and uterine fibroids were calculated by CDUS pre- and post-SUAE for 6 months. And we tested the levels of internal hormone including FSH, LH and E2 before and after SUAE for 3, 6 months. Results： SUAE was performed successfully in all patients. There was no peri-operative morbidity in all procedures. Compared with pre-SUAE volumes of uterine [（322± 12） cm^3] and uterine fibroids [（125±46） cm^3], their volumes in post-SUAE were （144±72） cm^3 and （51 a：l 1） cm^3 （P〈0.01）, and reduction rate was 58% and 61%, respectively. At 3, 6 months after SUAE, levels of FSH, LH, and E2 were not decreased than that of in pre-SUAE （P〉0.05）. After SUAE for 24 months, the fibroids related physical and psychological symptoms such as bleeding, pain and quality of life were significantly improved （P〈0.01）. 90.8% （59/65） women had resolution of symptoms and no significant post-procedural symptoms. Parts of patients discharge necrotic fibroids. 86% （34/40） complications were minor, requiring no therapy. 9.2% （6/65） had significant post-procedural symptoms, requiring therapy in hospital or out-patient department. Conclusion： SUAE contributes to a long-term significant improvement of all investigated uterine fibroid-related symptoms and markedly improves women＇s health-related quality of life. SUAE that no impair on changes of internal hormone, under suitable conditions, represents an attractive alternative to hysterectomy for the treatment of symptomatic fibroids and is a minimally invasive, new method of good clinical prognosis. CDUS is an effective to investigate the outcome of SUAE.

It intends to analyze the artistic charm of environmental description in Wuthering Heights from three aspects： deepening the theme, romantic reflection and Gothic effect. Through the analysis, it may be easier for readers to understand the plots and enjoy its artistic charm.

Quality of life in head and neck cancer survivors： A concept analysis

Objective： To identify and clarify the existing definitions of quality of life in head and neck cancer survivors. Thisconcept analysis will inform healthcare professionals of promoting nursing care for head and neck cancer survivors andeventually improve their quality of life. Method： Concept analysis based on Walker and Avant’s framework. Results：Quality of life is a subjective and personally derived cognitive evaluation of global well-being by perceiving a feeling ofoverall life satisfaction in his/her own value, happiness, and the independence to manage daily activities and lifeexperience. Three defining attributes for quality of life were identified： a feeling of overall life satisfaction in his/hervalue, global personal well-being, and independence. An improvement of quality of life means an improvement ofclinical outcome. However, the variety of instruments for measuring life quality makes it difficult for healthcareprofessionals to select a standard one for head and neck cancer survivors. Conclusion： By proposing a comprehensivedefinition of the concept, this analysis contributes to the advancement of knowledge about quality of life in the context ofhead and neck cancer survivorship. Through a sound understanding of the phenomenon, healthcare professions willrecognize or measure head and neck cancer survivors’ life conditions in a more accurate way and to implementintervention where necessary, eventually, improve patients’ life quality in survivorship.

Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Ferruginol from Prumnupitys andina

Ferruginol, a phenolic diterpenoid, was isolated from Prumnupitys andina, a Chilean native plant, as the main compound. Ferruginol has displayed an interesting range of biological activities such as in vitro anti-inflammatory activity. Aim of this research is to evaluate the dermal anti-inflammatory activity of ferruginol, using in vivo models at first time. Ferruginol was subjected to topical assays for the inhibition of inflammation elicited by AA （arachidonic acid） or TPA （phorbol ester） in the murine model. The topical anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated in vivo using groups of 8 animals were treated with a single dose of ferruginol, equimolar doses with regard to the reference drugs, indomethacin and nimesulide. We showed a chemical data were consistent with a type-abietane diterpenoid known as ferruginol. Ferruginol showed topical anti-inflammatory activity at 21.0% and 20.5% in AA and TPA models, respectively. Our results provide data to support further investigations about ferruginol, a type-abietane diterpenoid, as a potential anti-inflammatory agent.

Research on Role Definition of Industry Association and Administrative Organ

Industry association is an important part of China＇s economic and social life, which plays an important role in these areas. However, due to various reasons, there exist some objective difficulties and problems for industry associations. In March 2013, Chinese government requires to clear relationship between govemment~ market and society, actively yet prudently carry forward the work of canceling the subordinate relations between industry associations and administrative organs, speed up the construction of modem social organizational system that is independent of government, and with well defined rights and responsibilities and self-governing by law. In such a background, it is especially necessary to deeply analyze the role definition of industry association and administrative organ, discuss how to clarify the role relationship between industry association and administrative organ, and consider how to promote the better and faster development of industry association. This paper has briefly introduced the development status and existing problems of industry association, and put forward relevant measures and suggestions to solve the problems.

Characteristics of the May 12,2008 Wenchuan M_S8.0 Earthquake Sequence and Discussion on Relevant Problems

The aftershock activity of the May 12, 2008 Wenchuan Ms8.0 Earthquake Sequence shows an obvious segmented feature. Most of the large aftershocks were distributed in the north and south parts of the aftershock zone. Thrusting was dominant with a small amount of strike-slip component in the south part. The aftershock activity decayed gradually, presenting the sequence features of a mainshock-aftershock pattern. The north part was the ending area of the malnshock fracture where strike-slipping was dominant, showing an obvious swarm feature. Therefore it became the major area for large aftershocks. The modulation of the earth tide on aftershock activity is remarkable; most large aftershocks occur during the period of flood and neap tide. The time period around 16：00 was the dominant occurring time for large aftershocks. The p-value, a parameter of modified Omori formula, increases gradually with time, and reaches about 1 at the end. Based on previous study, the sequence patterns, magnitude of maximum aftershock, as well as the duration of aftershock activity has been discussed. The primary results also show that the magnitude difference between the maiushock and the maximum aftershock is proportional to the rupture size of the maiushock for huge earthquakes of about Ms8.0. This means that when the magnitudes of the earthquakes are nearly the same, large rupture size corresponds to sufficient energy release.

Trends in Glaucoma Disability in Ukraine

The article represents the glaucoma disability rates in Ukraine and touches upon medical and social aspects of the problem We have screened a data from source medical documents and analyzed the MSEK （Physical Disability Board of Review） statistical reporting data, further used as a basis for calculation of live indices of general and primary disabilities caused by eye diseases, including the ones caused by primary open-angle glaucoma （7.05% and 9.99%, respectively）, the extensive distribution indices of disability by gender （75.74% male）, age （59.29% of II maturity patients）, and a disability group （56% of patients recognized disabled persons of groups I and II）. Our findings indicate a lack of modern science-based approaches to diagnosis, rehabilitation, and socio-medical examination of patients with ophthalmologic pathologies, thus requiring deeper study of this problem.

Effect of biologically active fraction of Nardostachys jatamansi on cerulein-induced acute pancreatitis

AIM： To determine if the fraction of Nardostachysjata- mansi （N J） has the potential to ameliorate the severity of acute pancreatitis （AP）. METHODS： Mice were administered the biologically active fraction of N J, i.e., the 4th fraction （N J4）, intra- peritoneally, and then injected with the stable chole- cystokinin analogue cerulein hourly for 6 h. Six hours after the last cerulein injection, the pancreas, lung, and blood were harvested for morphological examination,measurement of cytokine expression, and examination of neutrophil infiltration. RESULTS： N J4 administration attenuated the sever- ity of AP and lung injury associated with AP. It also reduced cytokine production and neutrophil infiltration and resulted in the in vivo up-regulation of heine oxy- genase-1 （HO-1）. Furthermore, NJ4 and its biologically active fraction, N J4-2 inhibited the cerulein-induced death of acinar cells by inducing HO-1 in isolated pan- creatic acinar cells. CONCLUSION： These results suggest that N J4 may be a candidate fraction offering protection in AP and N J4 might ameliorate the severity of pancreatitis by induc- ing HO-1 expression.

Women＇s Position in Religious Life of Georgia and Its Peculiarities

Georgia is a country where women＇s secular and religious activities would never be strange and unprecedented. But also this is a country where women are considered impure for ritual purposes, not allowed even to come too close to the shrines or conduct liturgy; where participation in main shrine rituals or slaughter of sacrifice was and is strictly forbidden. However, there are remarkable exceptions that are shown in the article. Women＇s shrines are found almost in all regions of Georgia, but according to our field works and other ethnographic data their presence is remarkably obvious in Khevi, mountainous region of East Georgia. The study of the subject brought us to a conclusion that women in Khevi might have more rights in conducting religious rituals at shrines than in other Eastern Georgia＇s highland regions. It may be conditioned by St. Ninos＇s strong connection with the region.

This paper, based on the development of euphemism in modem American English, sums up the basic features of euphemism in modem American English and analyzes its formation and application in modem American society and culture with the objective of improving learners＇ communication ability in the context of cross cultural communication.
