The hazardous phenols and their chlorinated phenolic derivatives from pulp and paper industries bear the potential to exert deleterious effects on the human health and aquatic ecosystems, if they are released untreated in the environment. Biodegradation of phenolic compounds in the effluent streams from pulp and paper industries is an important eco-friendly method for the removal of toxicity in industrial waste water, while the minimization of formation of these toxic compounds require several in-plant biotechnological techniques such as biopulping and biobleaching. Present paper reviews, the biochemical pathways involved in degradation of phenols and chlorophenols through microorganisms. Various biotechnological strategies involved in minimization and biodegradation of phenol and phenolic compounds and their related environmental engineering aspects such as utility of different bioreactor configurations have been discussed for the treatment of pulp and paper mill effluents.展开更多

In this sense, it has been recognized as the main principle to protect the privacy of biological data belonging to individual since it can determine genetic makeup of an individual processing of personal data in the biological materials of human origin. Speaking of this context, Islam accepts human as the most dignified creation. This dignity given to human makes biological materials of human origin and human private. Privacy brings immunity. The responsibility to protect the human body has been given to mankind in order not to lose this dignity. This responsibility is not bounded by human's own body. It must protect the body privacy of next generation which is the heir of genetic heritage. This study will focus on the reflection of the privacy perception of the Islamic law towards body on the legality of human biological materials usage for research purposes.展开更多

In this case the main national source of traditional raw meat materials is lamb and horse meat. The solution of a food problem about providing the population of the country with high-grade food protein, expansion of the range of food, increase of their biological and food value, and also creation of products meeting the requirements of a healthy food of the population, are actual problems of modem society. One of the available ways to solve these problems is the development of technology for production of various products combined with physico-biological technologies. In this regard, particular interest is creation of the combination of meat and vegetable raw materials. The aim is to develop the technology of molded meat product with the use of plant materials.展开更多
