The double degrees-of-freedom(DOFs)parallel model is adopted to analyze static vertical human-induced vibration with the finite element analysis(FEA)method.In the first-order symmetric vibration mode,the periods of the spring-mass model gradually decrease with the increase in K1 and K2,but they are always greater than the period of the add-on mass model.Meanwhile,the periods of the spring-mass model decrease with the decrease in m1 and m2,but they are always greater than the period of the hollow bridge model.Since the human's two degrees-of-freedom vibrate in the same direction as that of the bridge mid-span,the existence of human's rigidity leads to the reduction in the rigidity of the spring-mass model.In the second-order symmetric vibration mode,the changes of rigidity K2 and mass m2 result in the disappearance or occurrence of some vibration modes.It can be concluded that compared with the spring-mass model,the results of the add-on mass model lean to lack of safety to the structure;besides,the DOF with a smaller ratio of mass to rigidity plays the chief role in the vibration of the structure. 展开更多

Network coding has been considered as one of the effective strategies that improve the throughput of multi- hop wireless networks. In order to effectively apply network coding techniques to the real multi-hop wireless networks, a practical network coding aware routing protocol is proposed in this paper, for unicast sessions in multi- hop wireless networks. The protocol is based on a novel routing metric design that captures the characteristics of network coding and unicast sessions. To ensure the novel routing mettle can operate with practical and widely available path calculation algorithms, a unique mapping process is used to map a real wireless network to a virtual network. The mapping process ensures that the paths with the biggest coding opportunities will be selected by commonly used path calculation algorithms. Simulation results show that the proposed routing protocol is effective to improve the network throughput. 展开更多

An optimal measurement pose number searching method was designed to improve the pose selection method.Several optimal robot measurement configurations were added to an initial pre-selected optimal configuration set to establish a new configuration set for robot calibration one by one.The root mean squares (RMS) of the errors of each end-effector poses after being calibrated by these configuration sets were calculated.The optimal number of the configuration set corresponding to the least RMS of pose error was then obtained.Calibration based on those poses selected by this algorithm can get higher end-effector accuracy,meanwhile consumes less time.An optimal pose set including optimal 25 measurement configurations is found during the simulation.Tracking errors after calibration by using these poses are 1.54,1.61 and 0.86 mm,and better than those before calibration which are 7.79,7.62 and 8.29 mm,even better than those calibrated by the random method which are 2.22,2.35 and 1.69 mm in directions X,Y and Z,respectively. 展开更多

So that its routing problem an important research subject accordingly. In all the proposed protocols, the Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol(AODV) is applied to most wireless environments. With it, the shortest path from the source to destination node is chosen by the metric of hop counts. However, the chosen path with this metric may not be a stable one. With the research of predecessors, the Link Available Time(LAT ) can be calculated by the strength of received signal and may be regarded as another usable routing metric. Based on that, the authors develop a protocol named AODV-Deleting Path with Bad Broken Index (AODV-DPWBB) and discuss all the logicality of it. The simulation is done for two contention modes in several node speeds with discussion followed. The simulation result shows better throughput, and end-to-end delay can be obtained comparing the original AODV with metric of hop-count. 展开更多

We present MGRP, a Multi-Gradient Routing Protocol for wireless sensor networks, which is fully distributed and efficiently supports endto-end, one-to-many and many-to-one traffic patterns by effectively construct and maintain a gradient vector for each node. We further combine neighbor link estimation with routing information to reduce packet exchange on network dynamics and node failures. We have implemented MGRP on Tiny OS and evaluated its performance on real-world testbeds. The result shows MGRP achieves lower end-to-end packet delay in different traffic patterns compared to the state of the art routing protocols while still remains high packet delivery ratio. 展开更多

In addition, they must possess the DoFs (degrees of freedom) and high grip force similar to those of human hands. Balancing these requirements involves a trade-off; ideal robotic hands have yet to sufficiently satisfy both requirements. Herein, a power allocation mechanism is proposed to improve the grip force without increasing the size or weight of robotic hands by using redundant DoFs during pinching motions. Additionally, this mechanism is applied to an actual five-fingered myoelectric hand, which produces seven types of motions necessary for activities of daily living and realizes a -60% improvement in fingertip force, allowing three fingers to pinch objects exceeding 1 kg. 展开更多

A semi-reference image quality assessment metric based on similarity measurement for synthesized virtual viewpoint image (VVI) in free-viewpoint television system (FFV) is proposed in this paper. The key point of the proposed metric is taking resemblant information between VVI and its neighbor view images for quality assessment to make our metric to be extended to multi-semi-reference image quality assessment easily. The proposed metric first extracts impact factors from image features, then combines an image synthesis technique and similarity functions, in which, disparity information are taken into account for registering the resemblant regions. Experiments are divided into three phases. Phase I is to verify the validation of the proposed metric by taking impaired images and original reference into account. The experimental results show the agreement between evaluation scores and bio-characteristic of human visual system. Phase II shows the accordance with Phase I by taking neighbor view as reference. The proposed metric can be taken as a full reference one to evaluate the image quality even though the original reference is absent. Phase III is then performed to evaluate the quality of WI. Evaluation scores in the experimental results are able to evaluate the quality of VVI. 展开更多

This letter presents an efficient scheduling algorithm DTRR (Dual-Threshold Round Robin) for input-queued switches. In DTRR, a new matched input and output by round robin in a cell time will be locked by two self-adaptive thresholds whenever the queue length or the wait-time of the head cell in the corresponding Virtual Output Queue (VOQ) exceeds the thresholds. The locked input and output will be matched directly in the succeeding cell time until they are unlocked. By employing queue length and wait-time thresholds which are updated every cell time simultane- ously, DTRR achieves a good tradeoff between the performance and hardware complexity. Simula- tion results indicate that the delay performance of DTRR is competitive compared to other typical scheduling algorithms under various traffic patterns especially under diagonal traffic. 展开更多

The network coverage is a big problem in ocean communication, and there is no low-cost solution in the short term. Based on the knowledge of Mobile Delay Tolerant Network(MDTN), the mobility of vessels can create the chances of end-to-end communication. The mobility pattern of vessel is one of the key metrics on ocean MDTN network. Because of the high cost, few experiments have focused on research of vessel mobility pattern for the moment. In this paper, we study the traces of more than 4000 fishing and freight vessels. Firstly, to solve the data noise and sparsity problem, we design two algorithms to filter the noise and complement the missing data based on the vessel's turning feature. Secondly, after studying the traces of vessels, we observe that the vessel's traces are confined by invisible boundary. Thirdly, through defining the distance between traces, we design MR-Similarity algorithm to find the mobility pattern of vessels. Finally, we realize our algorithm on cluster and evaluate the performance and accuracy. Our results can provide the guidelines on design of data routing protocols on ocean MDTN. 展开更多

This mechanism is based on the perception of moving speed and a predesigned selection metric to choose the optimal routing protocol. The routing evaluation and selection metric is derived by OPNET simulations. AODV and OLSR are used as the example to show the process of this mechanism with the moving speed varying. The routing protocol can be configured without central configuration and human management. Besides, the overhead of the mechanism is reasonable and doesnot affect the quality of service (QoS) of the traffic in the network. Results show that the optimal routing protocol can be configured adaptively according to the speed so that better performance than end-to-end delay and packet delivery ratio. a specific protocol can be obtained in terms of 展开更多

From point of view of weighted density procedure, it is guessed that a Percus-Yevick (PY) compressibility excess free energy density, appearing in the Kierlik Rosinberg type fundamental measure functional (KR-FMF) and expressed in terms of scaled particle variables, can be substituted by a corresponding expression dictated by a more accurate Mansoori Carnahan-Starling Leland (MCSL) equation of state, while retaining the original weighting functions; it is numerically indicated that the resultant undesirable non-self-consistency between the PY type weighting function and MCSL type excess free energy density had no bad effect on the performance of the resultant augmented KR-ffMF which, on the one hand, preserves the exact low-density limit of the original KR-FMF and holds a high degree of pressure self-consistency, on the other hand, improves significantly, as expected, the predictions of density profile of hard sphere fluid at single hard wall contact location and its vicinity, and of the bulk hard sphere second order direct correlation function (DCF), obtained from functional differentiation. The FMF is made applicable to inhomogeneous non-hard sphere fluids by supplementing a functional perturbation expansion approximation truncated at the lowest order with summation of higher order terms beyond the lowest term calculated by the FMF for an effective hard sphere fluid; the resultant extended FMF only needs second order DCF and pressure of the fluid considered at coexistence state as inputs, consequently is applicable whether the considered temperature is above critical point or below critical point. The extended MCSL-augmented KR-FMF is found to be endowed with an excellent performance for predictions of density profile and surface tension by comparing the present predictions of these two quantities with available computer simulation data for inhomogeneous hard core attractive Yukawa fluid and Lennard-3ones fluid. 展开更多

In this review, we present an overview of the progress achieved so far in the field of hyperentanglement in photon systems and some of its important applications in quantum information processing, including hyperentanglement generation, complete hyperentangled-Bell-state analysis, hyperentanglement concentration, and hyperentanglement purification for high-capacity long-distance quantum communication. Understanding the vibration characteristics of a seated human body is critical for evaluation and improvement of ride comfort of various passenger vehicles. There have been very little publications about the vibration characteristics of a seated Chinese human body. By using wide-band white noise excitations and a homemade seat sensor, vertical vibration tests were carried out on 28 volunteers. Apparent masses were obtained for each volunteer at a frequency range of 1-20 Hz for various excitation le-vels. A biodynamic model, which has two degrees of freedom in parallel and includes a frame mass, was chosen to describe the vertical vibration characteristics of the seated human body. The model parameters were identified by means of a Gauss-Newton method with an error function defined in terms of both real and imaginary parts of the apparent mass against frequency. Based on the averaged data of the mass-normalized apparent mass from experiments, the model parameters and corresponding modal parameters were obtained for seated Chinese people at ages of 20-25 with standard weight. The apparent masses predicted by the biodynamic model with identified parameters agree very well with those obtained from experiments. Statistical analysis demonstrates the influence of volunteer’s height and weight on the model parameters for a seated human body. 展开更多

A joint industry project on a full scale measurement of Fenjin FPSO,headed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and sponsored by CNOOC,was initiated in October 2007 and has been going on for more than 25 months.The purpose of the project is to measure and collect the motions in six-degrees of freedom of an FPSO,and to collect the environmental loads at the offshore oil-field.A motion data measuring system is designed and installed on the FPSO.Another environmental data measuring system is installed on a fixed jacket platform nearby.A large quantity of valuable first-hand data is obtained.With the data collected,motion characteristics of the FPSO in a long-term period are concluded.A short-term analysis for the FPSO in one of the typhoons is also completed.The mean periods of wave-frequency motions are calculated by the spectrum analysis.The tension loads of the mooring system,which is of great concern,are calculated by the decoupled technique. 展开更多
