Methods: A total of 1 859 participants who had schedul...Objective: To compare the efficacy of a short messaging service (SMS) text messaging and phone reminder to im-prove attendance rates at a health promotion center. Methods: A total of 1 859 participants who had scheduled appointments in the health promotion center of our hospital from April 2007 to May 2007 were enrolled in the study and randomly assigned into 3 groups: control (no reminder) group,SMS text messaging reminder group and telephone reminder group. Attendance rates and costs of interventions were collected. Results: A total of 1848 participants were eligible for analysis. Attendance rates of control,SMS and telephone groups were 80.5%,87.5% and 88.3%,respectively. The attendance rates were significantly higher in SMS and telephone groups than that in the control group,with odds ratio 1.698,95% confidence interval 1.224 to 2.316,P=0.001 in the SMS group,and odds ratio 1.829,95% confidence interval 1.333 to 2.509,P<0.001 in the telephone group. However,there was no difference between the SMS group and the telephone group (P=0.670). The cost effectiveness analysis showed that the cost per attendance for the SMS group (0.31 Yuan) was significantly lower than that for the telephone group (0.48 Yuan). Conclusion: SMS and telephone are effective reminders for improving attendance rate at a health promotion center. SMS reminder may be more cost-effective compared with the telephone reminder.展开更多

Developing electrocatalysts with high performance and low cost for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is of great importance for fabricating renewable energy storage and conversion devices.Here,a series of boron-doped ...Developing electrocatalysts with high performance and low cost for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is of great importance for fabricating renewable energy storage and conversion devices.Here,a series of boron-doped graphene(BG)-supported bimetallic oxides of Co and Ni were obtained and served as OER electrocatalysts.Surprisingly,the annealed Co-Ni-Ox/BG with a Co/Ni ratio of 1:1 exhibits high performance toward oxygen evolution in alkaline electrolyte.The overpotential is only 310 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm-2,superior to many mono-metallic oxides reported before,and even comparable to the commercial RuO2.The regulation of charge distribution in bimetallic oxides and the strong synergistic coupling effects together contribute to the superior electrocatalytic performance of the Co-Ni-Ox/BG toward OER.This study also offers several effective ways to design high-performance OER electrocatalysts for water splitting.展开更多
Electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)is one of the most attractive approaches for converting CO_(2)into valuable chemical feedstocks and fuels.This work reports a catalyst comprising graphdiyne-decorated bismuth subcar...Electrocatalytic reduction of CO_(2)is one of the most attractive approaches for converting CO_(2)into valuable chemical feedstocks and fuels.This work reports a catalyst comprising graphdiyne-decorated bismuth subcarbonate(denoted as BOC@GDY)for efficient electroreduction of CO_(2)to formate.The BOC@GDY shows a stable current density of 200 mA cm^(-2)at–1.1 V in a flow cell configuration,with a faradaic efficiency of 93.5%for formate.Experimental results show that the synergistic effect in BOC@GDY is beneficial for the CO_(2)adsorption affinity,the reaction kinetics and the selectivity for formate.In addition,in-situ X-ray absorption and Raman spectroscopy indicate that the electron-rich GDY could facilitate the reduction from Bi(Ⅲ)to Bi(0),thus leading to more active sites.We also demonstrate that the promoting effect of GDY in CO_(2)electroreduction can be further extended to other metal catalysts.To the best of our knowledge,such general promoting functions of GDY for CO_(2)electroreduction have not been documented thus far.展开更多
