As a matured technique used in many fields,the distributed computer system is still a new management method for the aeronautical electrical power distribution system in our country. In this paper, a novel aircraft electrical power distribution system based on the distributed computer system is proposed. The principles, features and structure of the aircraft electrical power distribution system and the distributed computer system named electrical load management system (ELMS) are studied. The ELMS composed of four electrical load management centers (ELMCs) and two power source processors (PSPs) operates in the 1553B buses. Principles of the ELMCs and the PSPs are introduced. With the application of the distributed computer system, the aircraft electrical power distribution system is simple, adaptable and flexible. 展开更多

An optimal design method for an aircraft low-power thermoelectric refrigeration system(TRS)is proposed using an existing experimental model as the research platform under given aircraft flight conditions.The variation curves of the cooling capacities and the refrigeration coefficients of the system running at three flight altitudes are investigated.The performance of the system is evaluated by the minimum-entropy-generation method and the performance penalty is also calculated.The power variation curves of the cooling system are obtained by an electric power experiment.The peak values of these curves are less than the maximal electric power supply of airborne equipment,proving that the use of the low-power TRS for airborne equipment is feasible.The COP,cooling capacity and entropy generation of the system are relative to the flight altitude and the current of the TRS.Through the analyses of these data,the optimal values of the COP are obtained,and the optimization measures are proposed to maximize the use of the advantages of the TRS. 展开更多

Induction motor faults including mechanical and electrical faults are reviewed.The fault diagnosis methods are summarized.To analyze the influence of stator current,torque,speed and rotor current on faulted bars,a time-stepping transient finite element(FE)model of induction motor with bars faulted is created in this paper.With wavelet package analysis method and FFT method, the simulation result of finite element is analyzed.Based on the simulation analysis,the on-line fault diagnosis system of induction motor with bars faulted is developed.With the speed of broken bars motor changed from 1 478 r/min to 1 445 r/min,the FFT power spectra and the wavelet package decoupling factors are given.The comparison result shows that the on-line diagnosis system can detect broken-bar fault efficiently. 展开更多

With this method, two systems' similarities can be captured in terms of physics quantities/governed-equations amongst different energy fields, and then the unknown dynamic characteristics of one of the systems can be analyzed according to the similar ones of the other system. The probability to establish a pair of similar systems among MEMS and other energy systems is also discussed based on the equivalent between mechanics and electrics, and then the feasibility of applying this method is proven by an example, in which the squeezed damping force in MEMS and the current of its equivalent circuit established by this method are compared. 展开更多

Electromechanical dynamics analysis and simulation on a rollforming equipment with both sides variable cross-section are discussed in this study.The system includes mechanical parts and electromagnetism parts,and it is a strongly coupled electromechanical system.Based on a virtual work principle and given power,generalized forces of this system are obtained.By using Lagrange-Maxwell equations,a model of electromechanical dynamics is established.Differential equations of two-phase winding on d-q axis are obtained by Park transformation,which comes from three-phase winding equations on the A-B-C axis.This system is solved with the 4th order Runge-Kutta's method,and discrete solutions of all variables are obtained.Finally,by using Matlab language,the system is simulated.The results show that the proposed method works very well. 展开更多

A novel flywheel energy storage (FES) motor/generator (M/G) was proposed for marine systems. The purpose was to improve the power quality of a marine power system (MPS) and strengthen the energy recycle. Two structures including the magnetic or non-magnetic inner-rotor were contrasted in the magnetostatic field by using finite element analysis (FEA). By optimally designing the size parameters, the average speed of FEA results of was 17 200 r/m, and the current was controlled between 62 and 68 A in the transient field. The electrical machine electromagnetism design was further optimized by the FEA in the temperature field, to find the local overheating point under the normal operation condition and provide guidance for the cooling system. Finally, it can be concluded from the comprehensive physical field analysis that the novel redundant structure M/G can improve the efficiency of the M/G and maintain the stability of the MPS. 展开更多

A novel technique for the optimal tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) was proposed,by integrating the modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO) with the chaos (MPSOC).Firstly,a modification in the particle swarm optimization (PSO) was made by introducing passive congregation (PC).It helps each swarm member in receiving a multitude of information from other members and thus decreases the possibility of a failed attempt at detection or a meaningless search.Secondly,the MPSO and chaos were hybridized (MPSOC) to improve the global searching capability and prevent the premature convergence due to local minima.The robustness of the proposed PSS tuning technique was verified on a multi-machine power system under different operating conditions.The performance of the proposed MPSOC was compared to the MPSO,PSO and GA through eigenvalue analysis,nonlinear time-domain simulation and statistical tests.Eigenvalue analysis shows acceptable damping of the low-frequency modes and time domain simulations also show that the oscillations of synchronous machines can be rapidly damped for power systems with the proposed PSSs.The results show that the presented algorithm has a faster convergence rate with higher degree of accuracy than the GA,PSO and MPSO. 展开更多

Consider the design and implementation of an electro-hydraulic control system for a robotic excavator, namely the Lancaster University computerized and intelligent excavator (LUCIE). The excavator was developed to autonomously dig trenches without human intervention. One stumbling block is the achievement of adequate, accurate, quick and smooth movement under automatic control, which is difficult for traditional control algorithm, e.g. PI/PID. A gain scheduling design, based on the true digital proportional-integral-plus (PIP) control methodology, was utilized to regulate the nonlinear joint dynamics. Simulation and initial field tests both demonstrated the feasibility and robustness of proposed technique to the uncertainties of parameters, time delay and load disturbances, with the excavator arm directed along specified trajectories in a smooth, fast and accurate manner. The tracking error magnitudes for oblique straight line and horizontal straight line are less than 20 mm and 50 mm, respectively, while the velocity reaches 9 m/min. 展开更多

A signal pre-processing method based on optimal variational mode decomposition(OVMD)is proposed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of local data filtering and analysis of edge nodes in distributed electromechanical systems.Firstly,the singular points of original signals are eliminated effectively by using the first-order difference method.Then the OVMD method is applied for signal modal decomposition.Furthermore,correlation analysis is conducted to determine the degree of correlation between each mode and the original signal,so as to accurately separate the real operating signal from noise signal.On the basis of theoretical analysis and simulation,an edge node pre-processing system for distributed electromechanical system is designed.Finally,by virtue of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and root-mean-square error(RMSE)indicators,the signal pre-processing effect is evaluated.The experimental results show that the OVMD-based edge node pre-processing system can extract signals with different characteristics and improve the SNR of reconstructed signals.Due to its high fidelity and reliability,this system can also provide data quality assurance for subsequent system health monitoring and fault diagnosis. 展开更多

A distribution grid is generally characterized by a high R/X (resistance/reactance) ratio and it is radial in nature. By design, a distribution grid system is not an active network, and it is normally designed in such a way that power flows from transmission system via distribution system to consumers. But in a situation when wind turbines are connected to the distribution grid, the power source will change from one source to two sources, in this case, network is said to be active. This may probably have an impact on the distribution grid to whenever the wind turbine is connected. The best way to know the impact of wind turbine on the distribution grid in question is by carrying out load flow analysis on that system with and without the connection of wind turbines. Two major fundamental calculations: the steady-state voltage variation at the PCC (point of common coupling) and the calculation of short-circuit power of the grid system at the POC (point of connection) are necessary before carrying out the load flow study on the distribution grid. This paper, therefore, considers these pre-load flow calculations that are necessary before carrying out load flow study on the test distribution grid. Based on the Ramsey theory-the foundation for the tiered electricity pricing mechanism, this article analyzes the effects of the tiered electricity pricing system on social justice, eff iciency and commodity prices, and concludes that the system would direct subsidies to flow into low income groups, and promote energy conservation and emissions reduction by restricting over-consumption of high income groups, without enormous effect on commodity prices. The key to designing the tiered system is how to estimate the amount of electricity use for each tier, so as to avoid excluding low income groups from the subsidy or including high income groups in the subsidy. 展开更多

The multimass turbine model is included in the overall distributed generation system model. Two case studies are demonstrated to observe the interaction between turbine-generator set and power electronics-based distributed generation system. Both case studies are in stand-alone and grid-connected operation. It can be shown that under stand-alone operation, unstable oscillatory modes may occur and be highly influenced by the operating points of the system. 展开更多

The modules for admission of students, specialty classification, and graduation of students, management of the student's work in computer classrooms and lecturers' data management have been analyzed, developed and implemented. The additionally developed modules concern mainly the management of educational process and do not affect the e-learning or the official part modules. That led to the idea that the functionality for managing educational process has to be organized in a separate module defined as module for administrative services of educational process. Such restructuring of the system will bring flexibility in further growth of the system--for example students' admission or selection for different purposes. 展开更多

In general, it is important to operate the; airgap length uniformly for improving the system efficiency independent of the flatness of the reaction plate in a railway propulsion system by a linear induction motor (LIM). And it is possible to operate the LIM propulsion system efficiently without a change of the LIM capacity through the airgap length control on the sloped rail. So, in this research, the authors introduce an airgap control system to control the airgap length which depends on the flatness of the secondary reaction plate when the LIM is operated, and design a rotary small-scaled LIM and its airgap control system before manufacturing the real system. Then, the authors analyze some characteristics of the LIM (thrust and normal force, input current, efficiency and power factor), and through the LIM control modeling, the authors finally analyze an effect of the airgap-length control of the LIM by the airgap control system. 展开更多

In addition, SynRG has no cogging torque. Hence, wind turbine generation system with SynRG can achieve smooth start at low wind velocity. The rotor design of proposed SynRG is multi flux barrier type. With FEA (finite element analysis) software, the characteristics of SynRG are brought out, and the performance of wind turbine generation system with SynRG including copper loss and iron loss is simulated by FEA coupled with the motion equation of the wind turbine generation system under the maximum power point tracking control. In this paper, the constant wind test and the quasi-natural wind test are conducted. In conclusion, the results of these simulations indicate that the wind turbine generation system with SynRG has good performance, especially in starting phenomena. 展开更多
