In this paper, an identification method for the rotary travelling-wave type ultrasonic motor (RTWUSM) with dead-zone is proposed based on a modified Hammerstein model structure. The driving voltage contributing effect on the nonlinearities of the RTWUSM was transformed to the change of dynamic parameters against the driving voltage. The dead-zone of the RTWUSM is identified based upon the above transformation. Experiment results showed good agreement be- tween the output of the proposed model and actual measured output.展开更多

Firstly, an X-ray welding defect image is decomposed by NSCT. Then total variation(TV) model and Catte_PM model are used for the obtained low-pass component and band-pass components, respectively. Finally, the denoised image is synthesized by inverse NSCT. Experimental results show that, compared with the hybrid method of wavelet threshold shrinkage with TV diffusion, the method combining NSCT with P_Laplace diffusion, and the method combining contourlet with TV model and adaptive contrast diffusion, the proposed method has a great improvement in the aspects of subjective visual effect, peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR) and mean-square error(MSE). Noise is suppressed more effectively and the minutiae information is preserved better in the image.展开更多

MCA is a method which allows us to separate features contained in an original signal when these features present different morphological aspects. According to the features of ECG, we used the UWT dictionary to sparsely represent mutated component, and used the DCT dictionary to sparsely represent smooth component. The experimental results of the samples choosing from MIT-BIH databases show that the MCA-based method is effective for white noise removal.展开更多

The role of the piezoelectric element and the acousto-optic modulator in the excitation of flexural and longitudinal acoustic modes in the frequency range up to 1.2 MHz is highlighted. A combination of the finite elements and the transfer matrix methods is used to simulate the interaction of the waves with Bragg and long period gratings. Results show a very good agreement with experimental data. Recent applications such as the writing of gratings under the acoustic excitation and a novel viscometer sensor based on the acousto-optic mechanism are discussed.展开更多
