The properties of the samples obtained were characterized by X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and laser size distribution analyzer (SL) respectively. The formation mechanisms of the powders and the efficiency of the elctrodeposition were discussed. The results show that the as-prepared powders are high-purity copper nanoparticles with the fcc structure taking a mixture of fishbone-like and irregular shapes When the concentration of Cu^2+ increases from 0.03 to 0.09 mol/L, the average size of copper particles increases from 0.92 to 1.80 μm, and current efficiency of electrodeposition linearly changes from 66.5% to 91.3%.展开更多

Eu-doped α-Ga2O3 and β-Ga2O3 were further fabricated by annealing GaOOH:Eu and then characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and photoluminescence (PL). The TEM results show that monodisperse Eu^3+-doped GaOOH nanoparticles form and then transform into Eu^3+-doped a-Ga2O3 and β-Ga2O3 through annealing the GaOOH:Eu nanoparticles at 600 and 900℃, respectively. PL studies indicate that GaOOH:Eu has the highest intensity at 618 nm. Luminescence quenching is observed at higher Eu3+concentration in all samples.展开更多

The composition, morphology and structural features of the hydrothermal products were examined with X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The experimental results indicate that in the conditions of n(NaOH)/n(MgSO4) of 1.25, the dosage of w(Na3PO4) crystal additives of 1.0% w(MgSO4), stirring for 5 h at 180 ℃, the morphology of MgSO4·5Mg(OH)2·2H2O products is flaky and laminar, which is a kind of complex magnesium singlecrystal. The recycling of MgSO4 mother liquor was also investigated to make a full use of the materials and reduce disposal. The results prove that there is no adverse effect on the yield and purity of the products.展开更多

The structure of MWCNTs and MgO/MWCNTs composite has been characterized by analyzing the X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectra and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images. Experimental results indicate that the surface of purified MWCNTs sample is covered homogenously by a layered of MgO nanoparticles.展开更多

The two insects showed 27.0 and 28.2% crude protein, respectively. Extraction of gelatin using hot water gave high yield followed by mild acid and distilled water extraction, respectively. SDS-PAGE pattern showed low molecular weight chains, and the two gelatins contained protein with molecular weight of 40 kDa as main component. The differential scanning calorimetry thermograms results confirm no difference between extraction methods concerning the extracted gelatin quality. FTIR spectra of melon and sorghum bug gelatins were similar and the absorption bands were situated in more than 6 bands in melon bug gelatin and only 6 bands in sorghum bug gelatin. Amide II bands of gelatins from both melon and sorghum bug appeared at around 1554 cm^-1, while Amide I bands (1734-1632 cmt) appeared only in melon bug method 2 (MB2) and melon bug method3 (MB3). Microstructures of the insect gelatin examined with the scanning electron microscope showed that melon bug exhibited the finest gelatin network with very small voids. Melon bug gelatin showed finer structure with smaller protein strands and voids than sorghum bug gelatin.展开更多
