This switch not only eliminates the nonlinearity introduced by gate-source voltage variation, but also reduces the nonlinearity re...A novel, highly linear sampling switch suitable for low-voltage operation is proposed. This switch not only eliminates the nonlinearity introduced by gate-source voltage variation, but also reduces the nonlinearity resuiting from threshold voltage variation, which has not been accomplished in earlier low-voltage sampling switches. This is achieved by adopting a replica transistor with the same threshold voltage as the sampling transistor. The effectiveness of this technique is demonstrated by a prototype design of a sampling switch in 0. 35μm. The proposed sampling switch achieves a spurious free dynamic range of 111dB for a 0. 2MHz, 1.2Vp-p input signal, sampled at a rate of 2MS/s,about 18dB over the Bootstrapped switch. Also, the on-resistance variation is reduced by 90%. This method is especially useful for low-voltage, high resolution ADCs, which is a hot topic today.展开更多

Based on the principle and...For the high resolution required in a digital interface circuit of an accelerometer used in feeble gravity measurement, a switched-capacitor (SC) sigma-delta modulator (SDM) is proposed. Based on the principle and the topology structure of the SDMs, the influence of oversampling ratio, bits of an internal quantizer and the cascaded structure on weak signal detecting precision is analyzed, and an ideal low-distortion SDM with a second-order 1-bit structure satisfying the high- resolution interface circuit of an accelerometer is designed. With the research on non-idealities of each SDM block in the SC circuit implementation and their impacts on power consumption, the realized parameters of low-power SDMs based on different bandwidths are devised and the power consumption of each SDM is estimated. Time-domain behavioral simulation is explored based on Simulink. The results demonstrate that a 21- bit resolution of the designed SDMs can be achieved on the premise of low power, and the parameters for the circuit implementation can be directed to the transistor-level circuit design.展开更多

By utilizing a dynamic slew-rate enhancement(SRE) circuit and nested Miller compensation (NMC) on the LDO structure, the proposed LDO provides high stability during line and load regulation without off-chip load capacitors. The overshot voltage is limited within 550 mV and the settling time is less than 50 μs when the load current decreases from 100 mA to 1 mA. By using a 30 nA reference current, the quiescent current is 3.3 μA. The proposed design is implemented by CSMC 0. 5 μm mixed-signal process. Output voltage of this circuit is a symmetric square wave signal. The variation of sensitive capacitance, which is part of the capacitive sensors, can be denoted by the change of output vohage's frequency. The whole circuit is designed with 1.5 μm P-weU CMOS process and simulated by PSpice software. Output frequency varies from 261.05 kHz to 47. 93 kHz if capacitance varies in the range of 1PF - 15PF. The as-obtained SBP-BF4 was dissolved in AN and used as the electrolyte for supercapacitor. Electrochemical measurements demonstrate that, compared with commercial electrolyte TEMA-BF4/AN, SBP-BF4/AN exhibits high ionic conductivity, lower resistance and improved cycling performance, which is due to its smaller ion size and stable symmetry structure.展开更多

Due to variation in angular displacement in the variable area type capacitor which is connected in the timer based astable circuit,capacitance changes which in turn changes the time period of the timer circuit output. The time period of the timer output waveform is linear with the capacitance and hence linear with angular displacement. The timer output is further processed with UFDC for the measurement. The experimental results show that the time period is linear with the angular displacement in the range of 0- 180° and the uncertainty we should associate it with this average time period value is the standard deviation of the mean,often called the standard error (SE),which is ± 0.023 μs. Because of the simplicity,this measurement system can be used in both electronic and industrial instrumentation.展开更多

The proposed circuit is based on a double-voltage rectifier circuit and a Cockcroft-Walton circuit. The circuit can operate LED without flicker, and is free from switching noise since high frequency switching circuit is not used. To replace an AC capacitor by a DC capacitor for the ballast, a diode is connected across the capacitor in parallel, and the operating voltage of LED unit is kept at the value greater than the peak voltage of the input power source. The circuit realizes high efficiency and high input power factor compared with the operating circuits on the market. Cockcroft-Walton-type circuit can operate many LED devices in series connection. Series connection is preferable for fabricating LED unit of a constant voltage characteristic. With the use of above transducers together with MUs, the performance of distance protection function and line differential protection function have been investigated and presented. Our design is realized in a standard 0.18μm CMOS process with art active area of 0.5mm× 1.1mm.The EA modulator is driven by a single 19.2MHz clock signal and dissipates 5.88mW from 3V power supply. The experimental results show that,with an oversampling ratio of 48, the modulator achieves a 84.4dB dynamic range,73.8dB peak SNDR, and 80dB peak SNR in the signal bandwidth of 200kHz.展开更多
