A marine power plant (MPP) is the same section. In the present paper, the authors have tried to find the various reliability characteristics of an MPR A marine power plant which is a composition of two generators and in which one of them is located at the stern and another at the bow, both associated to the main switchboard (MSB). The distribution switchboards (DSB) receive power from the MSB through cables and their respective junctions. Given that arrangement, a working based transition state diagram has been generated. With the help of the Markov process, a number of intro-differential equations are formed and solved by Laplace transform. Various reliability characteristics are calculated and discussed with the help of graphs.展开更多
A mechanical separation process was developed for recovering metals from printed circuit board(PCB) scrap;it included three steps:impact crushing,sieving and fluidization separation.The mechanism of the technique was ...A mechanical separation process was developed for recovering metals from printed circuit board(PCB) scrap;it included three steps:impact crushing,sieving and fluidization separation.The mechanism of the technique was based on the difference in the crushabilities of metallic and nonmetallic materials in the PCBs that led to the concentrated distribution of metals in particles of larger sizes and nonmetals mostly in particles of smaller sizes.It was found that crushed PCB particles from 0.125 mm to 1.000 mm contained about 80% of metals in the PCBs.Metals acquired satisfactory liberation in particles smaller than 0.800 mm.The crushed PCB particles were sieved into fractions of different size ranges.Each fraction separately went through a gas-solid fluidized bed operating at a selected optimal gas velocity for the specific size range.Approximately 95% of metals in printed circuit board particles from 0.125 mm to 0.800 mm was recovered by the gas-fluidized bed separator at the selected optimal gas velocity.However,separation of metals from particles smaller than 0.125 mm was not satisfactory.Further study is needed on metal recovery from fine particles.展开更多

In construction, the PMs (permanent magnets) fixed on the rotor core which is surface-mOunted magnets retained by a carbon-fiber bandage. Redundant windings, resistant to fault propagation have accounted. Besides, an axial water-jacket housing without end-cap cooling has involved. All performed characteristic performances of the correlated ARWM will verify by comparison through 2-D and 3-D FEA results. In this paper, design process has dealing with determination of various kinds of losses such as electromagnetic and mechanical losses. In terms of both classified losses, copper, stator back iron, stator tooth, PM, rotor back iron, air-friction and sleeve losses were calculated. In order to recognize the different operating conditions of a distributed and complex electromechanical system in the process industry,this work proposed a novel method of condition recognition by combining complex ne...In order to recognize the different operating conditions of a distributed and complex electromechanical system in the process industry,this work proposed a novel method of condition recognition by combining complex network theory with phase space reconstruction.First,a condition-space with complete information was reconstructed based on phase space reconstruction,and each condition in the space was transformed into a node of a complex network.Second,the limited penetrable visibility graph method was applied to establish an undirected and un-weighted complex network for the reconstructed condition-space.Finally,the statistical properties of this network were calculated to recognize the different operating conditions.A case study of a real chemical plant was conducted to illustrate the analysis and application processes of the proposed method.The results showed that the method could effectively recognize the different conditions of electromechanical systems.A complex electromechanical system can be studied from the systematic and cyber perspectives,and the relationship between the network structure property and the system condition can also be analyzed by utilizing the proposed method.展开更多

It proves that the adhesion of...Thick SU8 microstructures with high aspect ratio and good side wall quality were fabricated by ultraviolet (UV) lithography, and the processing parameters were comprehensively studied. It proves that the adhesion of SU8 on silicon (Si) substrates is influenced by Si-OH on the surface, and can be improved by the HF treatment. Cracks and de- lamination are caused by large internal stress during fabrication process, and are significantly influenced by soft bake and post-exposure bake processes. The internal stress is reduced by a low post-exposure bake exposure tem- perature of 85 ℃ for 40 rain. A three-step soft bake enhances the reflowing ofSU8 photoresist, and results in uni- form surface and less air bubbles. The vertical side wall is obtained with the optimized exposure dose of 800 mJ/cm2 for the thickness of 160 μm. Using the optimized fabrication process combined with a proper structure design, dense SU8 micro pillars are achieved with the aspect ratio of 10 and the taper angle of 89.86°. Finally, some possible ap- plications of SU8 in micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) device are developed and demonstrated.展开更多

An esterification reaction between the carboxyl group of citric...In this study, for the first time, polymeric precursors have been used in the preparation of yolk-shell powders using a large-scale spray drying process. An esterification reaction between the carboxyl group of citric acid and the hydroxyl group of ethylene glycol inside the droplet produced organic polymers during the drying process of the droplet. During the spray drying process, the polymeric precursors enabled the formation of multi-shell cobalt oxide yolk- shell powders with superior electrochemical properties. The maximum number of shells of the particles in the yolk-shell powders post-treated at 300, 400, and 500 ℃ were six, five, and four, respectively. The initial discharge capacities of the cobalt oxide yolk-shell powders post-treated at 300, 400, and 500 ℃ were 1,188, 1,331, and 1,110 mAh·g^-1, and their initial charge capacities were 868, 1,005, and 798 mAh·g^-1, respectively. The discharge capacities of the powders post- treated at 300, 400, and 500 ℃ after 100 cycles were 815, 958, and 670 mAh·g^-1, respectively and their corresponding capacity retentions measured after the first cycles were 92%, 93%, and 82%, respectively. The pure phase Co3O4 yolk-shell powders post-treated at 400 ℃ had low charge transfer resistance and high lithium-ion diffusion rate.展开更多
