This paper proposes a new deadbeat controller based on compensation for unbalanced source voltage and current. With the proposed scheme, the second harmonics of the output current are eliminated and low-order harmonics of the source current are reduced effectively. For efficient utilization of a limited geothermal resource in practical projects,the cycle parameters were comprehensively analyzed by combining with the heat transfer performance of the plate heat exchanger,with a variation of flowrate of R245 fa.The influence of working fluid flowrate on a 500 W ORC system was investigated.Adjusting the working fluid flowrate to an optimal value results in the most efficient heat transfer and hence the optimal heat transfer parameters of the plate heat exchanger can be determined.Therefore,for the ORC systems,optimal working fluid flowrate should be controlled.Using different temperature hot water as the heat source,it is found that the optimal flowrate increases by 6-10 L/h with 5 ℃ increment of hot water inlet temperature.During experiment,lower degree of superheat of the working fluid at the outlet the plate heat exchanger may lead to unstable power generation.It is considered that the plate heat exchanger has a compact construction which makes its bulk so small that liquid mixture causes the unstable power generation.To avoid this phenomenon,the flow area of plate heat exchanger should be larger than the designed one.Alternatively,installing a small shell and tube heat exchanger between the outlet of plate heat exchanger and the inlet of expander can be another solution. 展开更多

The pinch instability for a cylindrical jet of liquid metal passed through by an axial electrical current is investigated. Besides the pinch effect originating from surface tension, the Lorentz force, created by the axial current density and the corresponding azimuthal magnetic field, causes an electromagnetic pinch effect. This effect has drawn attention in electrical engineering, because it can be used in the construction of liquid metal current limit- ers with self-healing properties. In this paper a simple model is derived using the shallow water approximation: the equations describing the full system are reduced to two one-dimensional evolution equations for the axial velocity and the radius of the jet. A stability analysis for this reduced system is carried out yielding critical current density and the growth rate for the instability. To investigate the nonlinear behaviour of the pinch instability for finite perturbations simulations, the shallow water model are performed. 展开更多

This research investigates the use of single dielectric barrier discharge(SDBD) actuators for energizing the tip leakage flow to suppress rotating stall inception and extend the stable operating range of a low speed axial compressor with a single rotor.The jet induced by the plasma actuator adds momentum to the flow in the tip region and has a significant impact on the tip-gap flow.Experiments are carried out on a low speed axial compressor with a single rotor.The static pressure is measured at both the rotor inlet and outlet.The flow coefficient and pressure rise coefficient are calculated.Then the characteristic line is acquired to show the overall performance of the compressor.With unsteady plasma actuation of 18kV and 60W the compressor stability range improvement is realized at rotor speed of 1500 r/min – 2400 r/min. 展开更多

A high accuracy experimental system has been established for unsteady open-channel flow.Then 40 experiments were conducted to study the propagating characteristics of unsteady open-channel flow.From the experimental data,the variation law of propagating velocity,wave deformation rate,flow depth of wave peak and bottom,and other parameters were obtained.The experimental results show the followings.1) The propagating velocity of unsteady open-channel flows can be expressed by the sum of flow velocity and micro-amplitude wave velocity at wave peak.2) The waveform of an unsteady flow would deform when it propagates,with the rising stage becoming longer and the falling stage shorter;the deformation rate is a function of distance,period and relative amplitude of discharge.3) The flow depths of wave peak and bottom have a close relationship with the period of the unsteady flow.When the period is short,water depths of wave peak and bottom are both close to those of the average discharge in the condition of uniform flow.For a long period unsteady flow,the water depth of wave peak is close to that of the maximal discharge in the condition of uniform flow,while at the flow wave bottom,it is close to the depth of the minimum discharge in an uniform flow.4) Propagating characteristic of discharge is analogous to that of flow depth for unsteady flow. 展开更多

Kinetic Instability of Anisotropic Drift Wave Accompanied by Field Aligned Currents in Solar Coronal Loop

Solar coronal loops are frequently accompanied by the field-aligned currents, which drive instabilities if the drift velocity u0 > v A the Alfv′en velocity. For our choice of parameters, the critical threshold value of u0/v A is ~ 3.0 for growth and the corresponding current filling factor ~ 10-3-10-4. Below this value we are no longer in the kinetic regime.The coronal loops also have short-scale density gradients within each loop. The electron resonance in the presence of density gradient causes the drift mode to grow. We study the effect of these two free energy sources, the electron drift and the density gradient, in the presence of temperature anisotropy T⊥_α > T∥_α. These effects simultaneously exist in the coronae. Using gyrokinetic theory, we investigate the influence of these effects, examine how they interplay with each other and study the consequent growth of the magnetosonic wave. We observe that kinetic instability driven by density gradient can be suppressed by field-aligned currents. The temperature anisotropy with chosen signatures causes further stabilizing effect. The results may prove useful to study the heating mechanism of solar coronal loops, acceleration of particles and confinement of particles in the thermonuclear reactors. 展开更多
