Numerical simulation of the effect of focusing current on advanced detection was carried out using a three-dimensional finite element method (FEM), meanwhile the electric-field distribution of the point source and nine-point power source were calculated and analyzed with the same electric charges. The results show that the nine-point power source array has a very good ability to focus, and the DC focus method can be used to predict the aquifer abnormality body precisely. By comparing the FEM modelling results with physical simulation results from soil sink, it is shown that the accuracy of forward simulation meets the requirement and the artificial disturbance from roadway has no impact on the DC focus method.展开更多

It has higher resolution and greater depth penetration than the direct current method and is especially fit for geothermal energy exploration and low- and mid-level groundwater detection. We introduce a successful application of high-frequency electromagnetic sounding for evaluating geothermal water resources. The high frequency electromagnetic system (MT-USA with a frequency range from 10 KHz to 1 Hz) is first applied to sample field data from China. A remote reference station is used to assure sampled data quality. We then perform 2D inversion image processing with the electrical method data. The results basically indicate the spatial distribution of underground geothermal water and provide favorable clues to finding the sources of the subsurface geothermal water in this area.展开更多

One is the subsection scanning method, and it takes advantage of the wide spectrum tuning range by the temperature modulation and fast spectrum tuning speed by current modulation. Specifically, this method is realized by dividing a target spectral region into several sections which correspond to the specific temperature of DFB-LD, scanning every section by current modulation for hundreds times, and averaging the data to raise the signal to noise ratio (SNR), then combining all sections to get the whole spectrum. An accuracy of 10ppmv had been obtained in the measurement of water vapor with a 10-cm path length by this method. Another is data fitting method, based on the absorption line-shape function; the absorption line can be described by fitting with partial measured data. The fitting absorption line was fitted well with the measured data, and the square of correlation coefficient (R-square) was no less than 0.99.展开更多

About 26 out of the 52 anomalies that occurred outside the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) were accompanied by energetic electron storms. Superposed Epoch Analysis (SEA) was used to analyze the properties of the anomalies and the dynamics of the space environments during these 26 events. Then, a Monte Carlo method was utilized to simulate the electron deposition and the interactions of the injected electrons with an aluminum shield and polyethylene dielectric. The average, median, and 75tb percentile values of the maximum electric field strength inside the dielectric were calculated. The results showed the tbl- lowing. (1) SSO-X anomalies are more likely to occur within the SAA, as 89 out of 141 anomalies (63%) occurred there. (2) Twenty-six of the anomalies that occurred outside the SAA during energetic electron storms were located near the outer boundaries of the outer radiation belts, and these were more frequent in the Southern Hemisphere than in the Northern Hemi- sphere. (3) Electron flux enhancements occurred around the failure time at all energy levels but were more profound in the lower energy channels. The maximum fluxes of electrons 〉30 keV, 〉100 keV, and 〉300 keV were 106, 3.5x10s, and 1.2×10^6 cm 2 s^-1 · sr ^-1, respectively. (4) The average, median, and 75th percentile values of the maximum electric field strengths inside the dielectric for the aforementioned 26 events remained in the range from 106 to 107 V/m for long time periods, which sug- gests that the 'potential hazards' of internal discharges cause SSO-X anomalies. The above results can provide useful infor- mation for the design and protection of sun-synchronous spacecraft.展开更多

By accurate temperature sensing and direct current(DC) bias voltage compensation, the single-photon detector can work stably in Geiger mode from-40 °C to 35 °C with an almost constant avalanche gain. It provides a solution for single-photon detection at outdoor operation in all-weather conditions.展开更多
