Electric vehicles management is a relatively recent problem; its purpose is to expedite the establishment of a costumer convenient, cost-effective, EV infrastructure. Inspire the relevance of the problem, a few small research communities in this field work on some of its aspects. Studies revealed that most companies, particularly multinationals in Nigeria, do not pay enough attention to the effects of poor power quality on their plant and equipment, and let the economic implications alone. The result is high production and maintenance cost. Findings also revealed that these companies loose an average of $50,000 annually owing to equipment damage (such as variable speed drives) caused by poor power quality. This paper focuses on the need for continuous monitoring and management of poor power quality disturbance parameters and the cost for economic implications of no addressing power quality issues. 展开更多

Nanoparticles such as quantum dots have confinement properties that can be exploited to improve solar cell efficiency and help reduce the cost. Allocation of fixed transmission cost based on power flow tracing algorithm

In the electricity market, charging based on the traditional spot electricity price often results in the payment imbalance of electric network, and goes against the development of the power system. So, it is necessary to modify the spot price. The key of the modification lies in how to calculate the fixed unit transmission cost of each node, that is how to allocate the fixed transmission cost to users.To solve this problem, we develop a power flow tracing algrithm to modify the spot price. We put forward a path searching method based on the graph theory after studying the fundamental principle of power flow tracing and apply the method to the downstream tracing algorithm and upstream tracing algorithm according to the proportional distribution principle. Furthermore, to improve the computational efficiency of the algorithm, we introduce the branch expunction method to optimize the node order. By using the result of power flow tracing to get fixed node transmission cost and introducing it to modify the spot price, we obtain the synthetical price.The application to a 5-bus system prove the algorithm feasible. 展开更多

The coking plant of ThyssenKrupp CSA uses the heat recovery technology with stamping charger for stamping and preparation a blend of coals for charging and coking. Stamping technology adds several benefits to the process, such as increased density, homogeneity and alignment of the coal cake charged into the oven, as well as provides better control of the coking process, improves parameters of coke quality and allows coal blending with lower coking power, thereby reducing the production cost of coke and power generation. In recent years, wireless communication systems have experienced tremendous growth in data traffic. Many capacity-enhancing techniques are applied to elevate the gap between the amount of traffic and network capacity, and more solutions are required to minimize the gap. Traffic allocation among multiple networks is regarded as one of the most effective methods to solve the problem. However, current studies are unable to derive the quantity of traffic that each network should carry. An intelligent traffic allocation algorithm for multiple networks is proposed to obtain the optimal traffic distribution. Multiple factors affecting traffic distribution are considered in the proposed algorithm, such as network coverage, network cost, user habit, service types, network capacity and terminals. Using evaluations, we proved that the proposed algorithm enables a lower network cost than load balancing schemes. A case study of strategy rmldng for a 2G system refarming is presented to further illustrate the applicability of the proposed algorithm. We demonstrated that the new algorithm could be applied in strategy rmldng for telecommunication operators. 展开更多
