Methods Three-centered random control method was used, and 300 qualified cases were randomly divided into treatment group (146 cases according to the design) and control group (140 cases), which were respectively treated with electro-acupuncture and drugs (Compound Aminopyrine Phenacetin Tablets, Ergotamine Caffeine Tablets, Diazepam Tablets), and observed the overall effect and scores of headache, accompanying symptoms, psychological and social adaptability scores, life quality scores, TCM symptoms scores and follow-up results before and after the treatment. Results In treatment group, the successful rate of attack control was 47.3 %, the improvement rate was 73.3 %, and the total effectiveness was 90.4 %, the clinical control rate and improvement were much superior to control group (the clinical control rate 35.7 %, improvement 61.4 %, the total effectiveness 85. 7 % ), P〈0. 01, the difference in effect was mainly reflected in patients with moderate severity; the total scores of TCM syndrome after the treatment was obviously significant or very obviously significant( P〈0. 05, P〈0. 01 ), but the headache scores between two groups was not obviously significant(P〉0.05), the difference in accompanying symptoms was significant( P〈0. 01 ) ;the long term attack control action in two groups was not satisfactory, the recurrence was similar (P〉0. 05) ,the severity of headache in recurrence cases of treatment group was alleviated and superior to control group( P 〈 0. 01 ), the occurrence of headache after the treatment is much less than that before the treatment and the situation after 2 months was superior to control group (P〈0. 01 ). Sleepiness and redness of face in some patients which were seen in control group weren't seen in treatment group. Conclusion Electro-acupuncture on Tàiyáng (太阳 EX-HN5) can control the attack of migraine due to hyperactivity of liver yang, and it has advantages in improving the accompanying symptoms and reducing the toxic and side effects of western drugs.展开更多

METHODS: ProtocolⅠ: Twelve healthy cats underwent gastric distention for 60 min on the first day. Electrical acupoint stimulation was applied at the neiguan or a sham point on the hip in randomized order before gastric distention, on the third day and fifth day. Those cats that underwent EA at neiguan on the fifth day were named "Neiguan Group" and the cats that underwent EA at a sham acupoint on the fifth day were named "Sham Group" (control group). During the experiment the frequency of TLESRs and lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressure were observed by a perfused sleeve assembly. Plasma levels of gastrin (GAS) and motilin (MTL) were determined by radioimmunoassay. Nitrite/nitrate concentration in plasma and tissues were measured by Griess reagent. The nuclei in the brain stem were observed by immunohistochemistry method of c-Fos and NADPH-d dyeing. Protocol Ⅱ: Thirty six healthy cats were divided into 6 groups randomly. We gave saline (2 mL iv. control group), phaclofen (5 mg/kg iv. GABA-B antagonist), cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK-8) (1 μg/kg per hour iv.), L-Arginine (200 mg/kg iv.), naloxone (2.5 μmol/kg iv.) and tacrine (5.6 mg/kg ip. cholinesterase inhibitor) respectively before EA at Neiguan and gastric distention. And the frequencies of TLESRs in experimental groups were compared with the control group.RESULTS: ProtocolⅠ: Not only the frequency of gastric distention-induced TLESR in 60 min but also the rate of common cavity during TLESRs were significantlydecreased by EA at neiguan compared to that of sham acupoint stimulation. C-Fos immunoreactivity and NOS reactivity in the solitarius (NTS) and dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus (DMV) were significantly decreased by EA at neiguan compared to that of the sham group. However, the positive nuclei of C-Fos and NOS in reticular formation of the medulla (RFM) were increased by EA at neiguan. Protocol Ⅱ: The inhibited effect of EA at neiguan on TLESR’s frequency was completely restored by pretreatment with CCK (23.5/h vs 4.5/h, P < 0.05), L-arginine (17.5/h vs 4.5/h, P < 0.05) and naloxone(12/h vs 4.5/h, P < 0.05). On the contrary, phaclofen (6/h vs 4.5/h, P > 0.05) and tacrine (9.5/h vs 4.5/h, P > 0.05) did not influence it. CONCLUSION: Electric acupoint stimulation at Neiguan significantly inhibits the frequency of TLESR and the rate of common cavity during TLESR in cats. This effect appears to act on the brain stem, and may be mediated through nitric oxide (NO), CCK-A receptor and mu-opioid receptors. But the GABAB receptor and acetylcholine may not be involved in it.展开更多

Methods: A total of 180 outpatients with acute urticaria were randomized into treatment group and control group. 100 cases in the treatment group were treated with EA at Quchi (曲池 LI 11) and Xuehai (血海 SP 10) as the main points which were supplemented with Dazhui (大椎 GV 14), Fengchi (风池 GB 20), Geshu (膈俞 BL 17), Pishu (脾俞 BL 20), etc. 80 cases in the control group were managed by chlorpheniramine maleate and Vitamin C. Results: After 3 days’ treatment, of the 100 and 80 cases in treatment and control groups, 79 and 53 were cured, 10 and 6 markedly effective, 5 and 8 effective, and 6 and 13 failed, with the effective rates being 94.00% and 83.75% respectively. The therapeutic effect of electroacupunture was significantly superior to that of medication(P<0.05). Conclusion: The method of electroacupuncture at Quchi (曲池 LI 11), Xuehai (血海 SP 10),etc. was a more effective therapy for acute urticaria.展开更多
