日本占领蒙疆地域后,在经济领域逐渐推行统制政策。对畜产物加工处理统制也是统制经济的组成部分之一。1943年6月,日本占领当局通过伪蒙疆政府颁布《关于轻工业组合统制之件》,称鉴于结成动物皮毛以及动物油脂、动物骨、动物肠类为原料... 日本占领蒙疆地域后,在经济领域逐渐推行统制政策。对畜产物加工处理统制也是统制经济的组成部分之一。1943年6月,日本占领当局通过伪蒙疆政府颁布《关于轻工业组合统制之件》,称鉴于结成动物皮毛以及动物油脂、动物骨、动物肠类为原料的组合的重要性,根据经济部令,分别设立了各自的统制组合。即成立以畜产物为原料的皮革鞣制、皮革制品制造业、毛制品制造业、动物骨·动物蹄·动物角加工业、肥皂·蜡烛制造业、动物肠类处理加工业等6个轻工业组合,进一步强化对畜产物加工业的一元化统制。地域内的畜产物加工业由于受统制的影响,原料购入无法保障,相继倒闭破产。 展开更多

The effect of tea saponins (TS) on rumen fermentation and methane emission was examined using an in vitro gas production technique named Reading Pressure Technique. Three levels of TS addition (0, 0.2, 0.4 mg/ml) were evaluated in the faunated and defaunated rumen fluid. Compared to the control, TS addition decreased the 24 h gas production in the faunated rumen fluid, but had a minor effect on gas yield in the defaunated rumen fluid. The TS significantly reduced methane production in vitro. In the faunated rumen fluid, 0.2 or 0.4 mg/ml TS decreased the 24 h methane emission by 12.7% or 14.0%, respectively. Rumen fluid pH value was affected neither by TS addition nor by defaunation. The TS addition had only minor effects on volatile fatty acids, but the yield and pattern of volatile fatty acids were greatly affected by defaunation. While the molar proportion of acetate was not affected by defaunation, the propionate was significantly increased and the butyrate significantly decreased. Ammonia-N concentration and microbial protein yield were influenced by TS inclusion and defaunation. Inclusion of 0.4 mg/ml TS increased the microbial protein mass by 18.4% and 13.8% and decreased the ammonia-N concentration by 8.3% and 19.6% in the faunated and defaunated rumen fluid, respectively. Protozoa counts were significantly reduced by TS inclusion. The current study demonstrated the beneficial effect of TS on methane production and rumen fermentation, and indicated that this may be due to the effect of the associated depression on protozoa counts. 展开更多

Identification of lxodid tick species on livestock in two districts, viz., D.I. Khan and Lakki Marwat of Northern Pakistan were made during the period from March to November 2009 through animals' survey and questionnaire. The main tick species were Amblyomma (14.3%), Boophilus microplus (l 8.5%) and Hyalomma anatolicum and H. dromedarii (67.2%). Out of 3009 collected ticks, the highest number of female (88.7%) and the lowest of males ( l 1.3%) belong to Boophilus; the lowest number of female (92.4%) and the highest of males (77.5%) belong to Amblyomma. However, cows were more susceptible than buffaloes and camels ranked third to ticks infestation. Moreover, cows, buffalos, goats and sheep harbored mixed infestation (had more than one type of ticks), however, camels and donkey harbored single infestation (had only one type of tick). An emerging ethno-veterinary or traditional remedy is poultry keeping for ticks' elimination in Lakki Marwat. The results of this research will be helped in taking appropriate measures to reduce tick infestation and to improve management practices. This paper discusses recent research findings together with management schemes in preventing and managing of thermal stress by handling external and internal factors in livestock production systems. Preventive measures against thermal stress are described as basic structural adjustments and the modifications that can be implemented readily, according to animal health and welfare requirements and refer to (1) environmental modification and thermal comfort in various housing systems; (2) action on animals, such as genetic selection for breeds resistant to infectious disease, parasites and climate extremes; (3) action on feed and (4) action on staff handling the animals. Moreover, measures to be taken both in situations of chronic thermal stress and heat or cold strokes are presented as they are applied to (1) limit stress, (2) monitor the temperature felt by animals, (3) adapt diet and drinking water supplies and (4) correct physiological imbalances. Examples are given for different farm species (cattle, sheep, goat, poultry and pigs) and different production systems (intensive, extensive and alternative). The paper concludes with a practical guide for the effective handling of thermal stress at farm level, summarizing the results from recent research studies on the specific topic. 展开更多

This indicates very low agricultural capacities. Otherwise agricultural activities are concentrated in a narrow fringe of the Northern part of the country where the dominant climate is semi-arid with very irregular rainfalls. A majority of farms produces its main part of income from cereal crops--livestock association system. However, the diversity of the climate and the physical environment, on one hand, and the agricultural policies on the other hand, induce major transformations in this system. Transformations are also the result of a significant demographic growth in rural area. In this context, significant issues appear in term of resource's uses and systems' sustainability. To shed light in the actual situation, this study, based on a survey of 90 owners, shows that: the intensification can constitute a threat on the pastoral resources; the weakness of the farms encourages the generalization of practices characterised by a weak feed autonomy and a bad management of stock fodders; the animal interspecific integration and partial intensification are positive if they follow models which ensure autonomy, performance and optimal pastoral resource management. 展开更多

The effect of climate change in recent times has disrupted the onset and duration of seasons in Nigeria manifesting in the reduction of both staple and cash crops, and livestock yields. This has transformed the country to a major importer of those agricultural produce she hitherto exported. As a country where over 70% of the population depends on agriculture for survival, the impacts of climate change are a major threat to both food security and the general econoray. Remedial measures which have been suggested including adoption of agronomic and tested practices, reduced burning and afforestation. An option that could be of great potential in ameliorating this situation but which has not been practiced especially in the production of specialty crops is the use of greenhouse farming. This paper discusses the impact of climate change on Nigerian agriculture. The potentials and logistics are required for effective use of greenhouse farming as an adaptation to climate change in Nigeria. It is suggested that research should be carded out to select appropriate glazing materials. The provisions of training and credit facilities for interested farmers are recommended for effective utilization of the system. 展开更多
