Methods: A total of 66 participants who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the randomized controlled trial and allocated to a treatment group and a control group at a ratio of 1:1, with 33 cases in each group. Both groups were given Luohua Anshen oral liquid as a basic treatment. The treatment group was additionally given EA every other day, three times a week. Both groups were treated for four weeks and a four-week follow-up was conducted. The scores of Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), Kupperman index (KI) and traditional Chinese medicine sleep syndrome scale (TCMSSS) were recorded at pre- and post-treatment, and at the follow-up. Meanwhile, adverse effects were monitored and recorded. Results: After four-week treatment, the global scores of PSQI, KI and TCMSSS in both groups declined significantly (all P<0.05), and the decreases in the treatment group were more significant than those in the control group (allP<0.05). The global scores of PSQI, KI and TCMSSS in both groups at the follow-up visit were significantly different from the corresponding baseline (allP<0.05), while insignificantly different from those assessed at post-treatment (allP>0.05). The total effective rate was 93.9% in the treatment group, significantly higher than 72.2% in the control group (P<0.05). No significant adverse event was reported in this trial excepted one patient experienced slight dizziness in the first acupuncture treatment. Conclusion: EA plus Luohua Anshen oral liquid is safe for perimenopausal insomnia with satisfactory short- and long-term effectiveness, and it shows certain advantage compared with using Luohua Anshen oral liquid alone.展开更多

The additional acupoints were Yintang (Ex-HN 3), Anmian (Ex-HN 22), Shenmai (BL 62), Zhaohai (KI 6), Neiguan (PC 6), Jueyinshu (BL 14), Xinshu (BL 15), Pishu (BL 20), Weishu (BL 21), Danshu (BL 19). The treatment was given by acupuncture plus moxibustion. Suspending moxibustion by moxa stick was used over the main acupoints. And the additional acupoints were punctured routinely. The main acupoints for the control group were Baihui (GV 20), Shenmen (HT 7), and Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Yintang (Ex-HN 3), Anmian (Ex-HN 22), Shenmai (BL 62), and Zhaohai (KI 6). The additional acupoints were Jueyinshu (BL 14), Xinshu (BL 15), Pishu (BL 20), Weishu (BL 21), Danshu (BL 19). The treatment was given by acupuncture routinely. The therapeutic effects were compared in the change of Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), therapeutic effect and therapeutic courses. Results: The treatment group was better than the control group in PSQI change, therapeutic effect and therapeutic course (P〈0.05). There was no adverse reaction. Conclusion: Acupuncture plus moxibustion has a better therapeutic effect for insomnia.
文摘Objective: To observe the efficacy of acupuncture plus tuina therapy for insomnia. Methods: Totally 100 eligible patients were randomized into a treatment group (n=51) and a control group (n=49) by using the random number table. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture at Baihui (GV 20), Fengchi (GB 20), Wangu (GB 12), Shenting (GV 24), Anmian [Extra, locates at the midpoint between Yiming (EX-HN 14) and Fengchi (GB 20)], and Neiguan (PC 6) plus tuina treatment; the control group was intervened by acupuncture alone. For both groups, the treatment was given once a day, 10 sessions as a treatment course, and the efficacies were evaluated and compared after 3 treatment courses. Results: Of the 51 subjects in the treatment group, 46 cases completed 3 treatment courses, and 17 cases were cured, 18 cases showed marked efficacy, 7 cases were improved, 4 cases had invalid result, and the total effective rate was 91.3%. Of the 49 subjects in the control group, 46 cases completed 3 treatment courses, and 8 cases were cured, 12 cases showed marked efficacy, 14 cases were improved, 12 cases had invalid result, and the total effective rate was 73.9%. The total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P〈0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus tuina can calm the mind and activate meridian qi in treating insomnia, and it can produce a more significant efficacy than pure acupuncture treatment.
文摘Objective: To observe the clinical effect of thread-embedding therapy in treating insomnia due to heart-spleen deficiency. Methods: Sixty patients were randomized into an acupuncture group and a thread-embedding group, 30 in each. The acupuncture group was managed by acupuncture therapy, and the thread-embedding group was treated by thread-embedding therapy. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was adopted for evaluation before and after treatments. Results: The total effective rate was 86.7% in the acupuncture group versus 96.7% in the thread-embedding group. After treatment, the PSQI scores were significantly different from those before treatment in both groups (P〈0.01); the scores in both two groups were mai'kedly different from each other after treatment (P〈0.01). Conclusion: Both acupuncture and thread-embedding therapies can effectively improve sleep quality of the patients, while thread-embedding therapy is comparatively less time-consuming, more convenient and with longer stimulation.
文摘Objective: To observe the effectiveness and safety of electroacupuncture (EA) plus Luohua Anshen oral liquid for patients with perimenopausal insomnia. Conclusion: EA plus Luohua Anshen oral liquid is safe for perimenopausal insomnia with satisfactory short- and long-term effectiveness, and it shows certain advantage compared with using Luohua Anshen oral liquid alone.
文摘Objective: To observe the treatment effect of acupuncture on insomnia. Method: All 86 insomnia cases were treated with acupuncture once a day; 5 d make up one course of treatment. There was a 2-day interval between the two courses. After 4 courses of treatment, the therapeutic effect was analyzed, coupled with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) global scores before and after the treatment. Result: The total effective rate was 95.4% and there was a significant difference in PSQI global scores before and after the treatment. Conclusion: Acupuncture is a safe and effective therapy for insomnia. It can improve the patient's quality of life and physical function.
文摘Objective: To observe the clinical effects of the electro-spoon needle on insomnia.
