Methods A single case of a 62-year-old female with painful ophthalmoplegia due to Tolosa-Hunt syndrome was observed. Acupuncture was administered alone in the patient's treatment plan and without glucocorticoid during treatment period. Results After 10 treatments over the course of 2 weeks, the patient had a significant clinical effect, positive outcomes in the patient's vitality and quality of life. Conclusion It is suggested that acupuncture therapy have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect equal to steroid during the treatment of Tolosa-Hunt syndrome.展开更多
