METHODS: Immunohistochemical techniqu...To study the changes of the expression of growth-associated protein-43 (GAP-43) and pathology in temporal infarction of rats photochemically induced and the effects of batroxobin. METHODS: Immunohistochemical technique and hematoxylin-eosin stain was used to show the changes of the expression of GAP-43 and pathology. RESULTS: In infarction group, GAP-43 expression was markedly increased on the infarction and surrounding tissues at 24 h cerebral infarction. The expression reached peak level at 72 h after cerebral infarction and was decreased at 7 d after cerebral infarction. However, in batroxobin-treated group, GAP-43 expression was increased and the pathological changes were much slight as compared with infarction group. CONCLUSION: The expression of GAP-43 increases in infarction of temporal neocortex and batroxobin promotes the expression of GAP-43 and ameliorates the pathological changes in infarction of temporal neocortex.展开更多

The therapeutic results we...From April 1992 to April 1998, 104 cases of chemotherapy-induced leukopenia were treated by injection into Zusanli (ST 36) with a mixture consisting of dexamethasone, 654-2, ATP and inosine. The therapeutic results were satisfactory as reported in the following.Clinical Data In this series, all the 127 cases were definitely diagnosed by pathological examination. Of them, 93 were male and 34 female, ranging in age from 12 to 75 years. 38 cases were carcinoma of esophagus, 22 carcinoma of cardia of stomach, 21 cancer of lung, 11 hepatic carcinoma, 8 lymphoma, 8 mammary cancer, 7 carcinoma of colon, and 12 other kinds of the tumors. Leukocyte count was below 4.0×109/L in all the patients after being treated by chemotherapy.展开更多

Method: The paired t test was used to analyze the data recorded before and af...Purpose: To observe the clinical efficacy of Compound Hypoglycemic Decoction (CHD) and its effect on serum total cholesterol in model mice. Method: The paired t test was used to analyze the data recorded before and after administration of drugs for hyperglycemia induced by intraperitoneal injection of 75% egg yolk emulsion in experimental mice. CHD and Fenofibrate were administered as prevention measures. Results: The total effective rate of serum total cholesterol (TC) decrease in 60 cases of hyperglycemia was 86.66% and that of serum total triglyceride (TG) decrease was 81.81%. The total effective rate of high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) increase was 75%. The decrease in TC and TG, and the increase of HDL-C after treatment by in-group comparison were all significant (P<0.05). 21.9% and 22.2% decrease in the total cholesterol was respectively found in the CHD and Fenofibrate groups (both P<0.05), with no significant difference. Conclusion: The hypoglycemic action of Compound Hypoglycemic Decoction was remarkable in clinical practice, and it is very effective in preventing hyperglycemia in experimental mice.展开更多
