Objective:To explore the effects of dopamine receptor D2(DRD2)on astrocytic dedifferentiation based on SOX2-regulated genes in neural stem cells(NSCs)and astrocytes.Methods:Immunofluorescence staining and SOX2-GFP mic...Objective:To explore the effects of dopamine receptor D2(DRD2)on astrocytic dedifferentiation based on SOX2-regulated genes in neural stem cells(NSCs)and astrocytes.Methods:Immunofluorescence staining and SOX2-GFP mice were used to examine the lineage differentiation of SOX2-positive cells during the development of cerebral cortex.Primary NSCs/astrocytes culture,ChIP-seq and Western Blot were adopted to analyze and verify the expression of candidate genes.Pharmacological manipulation,neurosphere formation,photochemical ischemia,immunofluorescence staining and behavior tests were adopted to evaluate the effects of activating DRD2 signaling on astrocytic dedifferentiation.Results:Immunofluorescence staining demonstrated the NSC-astrocyte switch of SOX2-expression in the normal development of cerebral cortex.ChIP-seq revealed enrichment of DRD2 signaling by SOX2-bound enhancers in NSCs and SOX2-bound promoters in astrocytes.Western Blot and immunofluorescence staining verified the expression of DRD2 in NSCs and reactive astrocytes.Application of quinagolide hydrocholoride(QH),an agonist of DRD2,significantly promoted astrocytic dedifferentiation both in vitro and in vivo following ischemia.In addition,quinagolide hydrocholoride treatment improved locomotion recovery.Conclusion:Activating DRD2 signaling facilitates astrocytic dedifferentiation and may be used to treat ischemic stroke.展开更多

The ABAQUS/Explicit code was utilized to predict the wrinkling behavior in the sheet metal forming of Ti-15-3 alloy sheets. In terms of the comparison of wrinkling behavior between the simulation and experiment of the Fukui's conical cup tests at room temperature, the sensitivities of wrinkling simulation to various input parameters were evaluated comprehensively and quantitatively. Prediction of wrinkling and influence of rubber hardness on the winkling behavior in the rubber forming of convex flange were investigated quantitatively and validated by the rubber forming experiments. Effects of various friction coefficients on the strain distributions were studied in detail. The posterior gut of the Drosophila embryo, consisting of hindgut and Malpighian tubules, provides a simple,well-defined system where it is possible to use a genetic approach to define components essential for epithel...The posterior gut of the Drosophila embryo, consisting of hindgut and Malpighian tubules, provides a simple,well-defined system where it is possible to use a genetic approach to define components essential for epithelial morphogenesis.We review here the advantages of Drosophila as a model genetic organism, the morphogenesis of the epithelial structures of the posterior gut, and what is known about the genetic requirements to form these structures.In overview, primordia are patterned by expression of hierarchies of transcription factors; this leads to localized expression of cell signaling molecules, and finally, to the least understood step: modulation of cell adhesion and cell shape. We describe approaches to identify additional genes that are required for morphogenesis of these simple epithelia, particularly those that might play a structural role by affecting cell adhesion and cell shape.展开更多

To analyze "orange peel" of 6063 aluminum alloy tube quantificationally, the tensile tests of trapezoid...Severe surface roughening during plastic deforming of aluminum alloy parts can produce "orange peel" defects. To analyze "orange peel" of 6063 aluminum alloy tube quantificationally, the tensile tests of trapezoidal specimens were carried out. The tubes with different grain sizes were obtained by spinning and subsequent annealing heat treatment. The macroscopical behavior of surface roughening was characterized by surface roughness Ra using a laser scanning confocal microscope. The corresponding microscopic behavior was reflected by microstructures of specimens and in-situ observation using electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD). The obtained results show that the surface roughness increased firstly with increasing strain and then decreased slightly. There was a critical strain for aluminum alloy tube, below which "orange peel" defect would not occur. For the tube with a mean grain size of 80, 105, 130 and 175 μm, the critical strains were 10.17%, 5.74%, 3.15% and 1.62%, respectively. Meanwhile, the surface roughening behavior was produced by serious inhomogeneous deformation between grains as strain increased, and was aggravated as the grain size increased due to the larger local deformation in larger grains.展开更多

Abdominal computed tomography demonstrated a cystic lesion attached to the posterior aspect of the gastric fundus, while upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was negative. An exploratory laparotomy revealed a non-communicating cyst and a smaller similar cyst embedded in the gastrosplenic ligament. Excision of both cysts along with the spleen was performed and pathology reported two smooth muscle coated cysts with a pseudostratified ciliated epithelial lining (respiratory type).展开更多
Ten quantitative morphological characters were studied in 56 Morus alba L. trees representing three natural populations from the trans-Himalayan Ladakh region. The altitude of collection sites ranged from 2815 to 3177...Ten quantitative morphological characters were studied in 56 Morus alba L. trees representing three natural populations from the trans-Himalayan Ladakh region. The altitude of collection sites ranged from 2815 to 3177 m above the sea level(asl). Coefficient of variation(CV) showed high phenotypic variation in M. alba. Linear regression analysis revealed that leaf and fruit size decreases with an increase in altitude. High CV was observed for leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, leaf area, internodal distance, number of nodes, bud length, fruit length, fruit width and fruit weight. Similarly, a high phenotypic plasticity index was observed for bud length, leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, leaf area, inter-nodal distance, number of nodes, fruit length, fruit width and fruit weight. For every 100 m increase in altitude, leaf length, leaf width and leaf area decreased by 1 cm, 0.8 cm and 16.6 cm2, respectively. Analysis of covariance showed a predominant altitudinal effect on the morphological characters in comparison to the population effect. A small change in the altitude caused significant change in the plant morphological characteristics. The present investigation represents to our knowledge the first study addressing phenotypic variation in mulberryalong an altitudinal gradient.展开更多

The thickness, the water and the oil contents of its tissues are evaluated every two weeks, from pollination t...This work aims to study the development of the pericarp of the fruit of Elaeis guineensis Jacq. var. dura. The thickness, the water and the oil contents of its tissues are evaluated every two weeks, from pollination to the maturity of the fruit. The development of the oil palm fruit takes 5.5 months. The endocarp reaches its maximum thickness at the 70th DPP (day post-pollination), with a water content of 72%. It then starts its dehydration, while sclerifying. It therefore isolates the seed at start and later protects it. The mesocarp is visible at anthesis and its water content is close to 92%. From the 100th DPP, it begins a continuous dehydration associated, from the 130th DPP, with an active lipids biosynthesis. Ultimately, the pericarp of the oil palm fruit fulfills both functions, namely to protect the seed by early sclerification of the endocarp and ensure the dissemination of the species by the high oil content of the mesocarp. A comparative anatomy of the pericarp tissues of the three genotypes.of E. guineensis Jacq., during the first three weeks of fruit development, will enhance the understanding of the primary effect of sh gene.展开更多

The species identified were H. caespitosa Tseng, H. hollenbergii Dawson, H. pecten-veneris (Harvey) Falkenberg, H. subdisticha Okamura and H. pinnata Ding and Tan sp. nov. H. pinnata sp. nov. is characterized by bright green thaUi; most parts of the feathery thalli are free of the substratum; determinate branches and indeterminate branches are arranged in a chaotic sequence; the primary axis has bare segments; the determinate branch has 9-11 periaxial cells per segment; vegetative trichoblasts are abundant; and tetrasporangia are formed on the middle of the determinate branch with 1-8 successive segments in a single rectilinear series. This group included 120 males and 53 females. The pathologic lesions composed of localized complete occlusion of inferior vena cava (IVC) (78), IVC stenosis (49), IVC membrane with a hole (37), membrane of hepatic vein (HV) (3), IVC thrombosis (4), IVC membrane with thrombosis (2) and IVC lesion with occlusion of HV (32). Treatment methods included that I: Percutaneous transinferior vena cava angioplasty (PTA) (76); II: IVC PTA with stent (59); III: Percutaneous transhepatic vein recanalization (3); IV: IVC thrombolysis through a catheter (4); V; Combined transcardiac and trans-femoral venous membranotomy and balloon dilation (22); VI: V and stent (17); VII; Stenting during radical surgery (3); VIII: Additional operation after intervention (23).Results. The immediate technique success rate for intervention was 90.1%, for the semi-intervention was 100%. The IVC pressure was reduced from 3 to 29 cmH20. Complications occurred in 8 cases. The death rate was 2.9%. A follow-up study showed the recurrence rates were 14.5% in IVC PTA group, 1.7% in IVC PTA with stent, 18.2% in combined technique without stent and no recurrence was found in other groups.Conclusion. The PTA is the first choice for localized lesions. When elastic recoil occurs, immediate stenting is suggested. The semi-interventional approach is advised for PTA failure and more complicated cases. For those with both IVC lesion and occlusion of HV, the additional operation is needed after IVC intervention.展开更多
Objective: To observe the effects of the new technique of flexible 3D-conformal radiotherapy with combination of photon and electron (3DCRT) in the treatment of the patients with diffuse malignant pleural mesotheli...Objective: To observe the effects of the new technique of flexible 3D-conformal radiotherapy with combination of photon and electron (3DCRT) in the treatment of the patients with diffuse malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), and carry out the comparative study between flexible 3DCRT and hemithoracic conventional radiotherapy (CRT). Methods: From January 2004 to October 2007, 8 patients with MPM were treated with flexible 3DCRT. 5 patients had received cycles of chemotherapy before radiation. New technique of flexible 3DCRT with combination of photon and electron was used in our study, and DT 32.2-64 Gy with conventional split were delivered. CRT technique was mimicked to compare with 3DCRT technique to predict the possibility of lung damage in two methods. Results: One patient reached CR and other 7 patients got PR after radiation. Two patients died during the follow-up. The median survival time (MST) was 15.4 months and it was 18.8 months for sequential chemotherapy and radiotherapy group and 9.7 months for radiotherapy alone group. The V20, V30, and ipsilateral and contralateral median lung dosage (MLD) were 20.5%, 15.6%, 18.8 Gy and 2.2 Gy respectively when the flexible 3DCRT technique was used, whereas they were 36.8%, 27.9%, 31.1 Gy and 1.2 Gy respectively when the CRT technique was used. They were statistically different for the lung V20, V30 and ipsilateral MLD between the two techniques (P 〈 0.01), whereas there was no different for the contralateral MLD (P = 0.08). All patients received radiation were found to have lung fibrosis and classified as grades 1-2 radiation pneumonitis. The quality of life was increased from score 2.83 to 3.76 and it was significantly different (P 〈 0.01). Conclusion: MPM is moderately sensitive to radiation. The flexible 3DCRT technique is feasible in the treatment of MPM and lung damage is reduced apparently comparing with the CRT technique. The quality of life of patients with MPM is improved after irradiation.展开更多

To review our preliminary experience and evaluate our early results of a combined intraoperative iliac angioplasty and stenting with infrainguinal revascularization in multilevel atherosclerotic occlusive disease. Methods. From July 1999 to April 2000, intraoperative iliac angioplasty and stenting combined with simultaneous femoro- popliteal bypass were performed on 12 lower extremities of 10 patients suffering from multilevel atherosclerotic occlusive disease. There were 8 men and 2 women, average 72 years. The indications for procedures included disabling claudication in 3 and rest pain in 7 patients. Results. Eleven iliac angioplasty and stent procedures combined with simultaneous 9 femoro- popliteal bypass and 3 femoro- femoral- popliteal bypass were performed in 12 limbs of 10 patients. Angioplasty and stent placement was technically successful in all patients. One contralateral femoral- popliteal bypass was failure after femorofemoral- popliteal bypass. There were no additional instances of procedural or postoperative morbidity or mortali- ty. Mean follow- up was 5 months (range 1~ 10 months). During the follow- up period, one femoro- infrapopliteal graft became occluded after 7 months and above- knee amputation was required. The cumulative primary patency rate of stented iliac arteries, femoro- femoral bypass grafts and femoro- popliteal bypass grafts were 100% (11/11), 100% (3/3) and 90.9% (10/11) in the follow- up period, respectively. The amputation rate was 8.3% (1/12). Conclusions. Intraoperative iliac artery PTA and stent placement can be safely and effectively performed simultaneously with infrainguinal revascularization for multilevel atherosclerotic occlusive disease by skilled vascular surgeon, using a portable C arm fluoroscopy in the operating room. Furthermore, iliac artery PTA and stenting was valuable adjunct to distal bypass either to improve inflow and outflow, or to reduce the extent of traditional surgical intervention, and also, any angioplasty and stenting- related complications can be immediately corrected as well.展开更多

Patients and method. Thirteen eyes of 13 patients with corneal epithelial ingrowth and flap melt after LASIK were treated based on the thickness and the extent of melting of the flap. Nine eyes were treated by lifting the flap and scraping the epithelium in the interface. Three eyes underwent allogenic keratomileusis. The flap was removed in one eye. Results. Recurrence occurred in 2 eyes treated by lifting the flap. The flaps, however, healed normally after retreatment. The grafts healed normally in the allogenic keratomileusis group, except for one eye in which the flap was lost. The corneal epithelium healed over the stromal bed after the flap was removed. Corneal haze of grade 2 was present at 6 months. The uncorrected visual acuity was between 0.3 and 1.0, and the best corrected visual acuity lost 1 to 3 lines. Conclusions. Corneal epithelial ingrowth with flap melt is a severe complication after LASIK. However, with proper treatment, vision can be salvaged in most cases.展开更多

文摘Gastrointestinal duplication is a congenital rare disease entity. Gastric duplication cysts seem to appear even more rarely. Herein, two duplications cysts of the stomach in a 46 year-old female patient are presented. Abdominal computed tomography demonstrated a cystic lesion attached to the posterior aspect of the gastric fundus, while upper gastrointestinal endoscopy was negative. An exploratory laparotomy revealed a non-communicating cyst and a smaller similar cyst embedded in the gastrosplenic ligament. Excision of both cysts along with the spleen was performed and pathology reported two smooth muscle coated cysts with a pseudostratified ciliated epithelial lining (respiratory type).

文摘Ten quantitative morphological characters were studied in 56 Morus alba L. trees representing three natural populations from the trans-Himalayan Ladakh region. The altitude of collection sites ranged from 2815 to 3177 m above the sea level(asl). Coefficient of variation(CV) showed high phenotypic variation in M. alba. Linear regression analysis revealed that leaf and fruit size decreases with an increase in altitude. High CV was observed for leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, leaf area, internodal distance, number of nodes, bud length, fruit length, fruit width and fruit weight. Similarly, a high phenotypic plasticity index was observed for bud length, leaf length, leaf width, petiole length, leaf area, inter-nodal distance, number of nodes, fruit length, fruit width and fruit weight. For every 100 m increase in altitude, leaf length, leaf width and leaf area decreased by 1 cm, 0.8 cm and 16.6 cm2, respectively. Analysis of covariance showed a predominant altitudinal effect on the morphological characters in comparison to the population effect. A small change in the altitude caused significant change in the plant morphological characteristics. The present investigation represents to our knowledge the first study addressing phenotypic variation in mulberryalong an altitudinal gradient.
文摘This work aims to study the development of the pericarp of the fruit of Elaeis guineensis Jacq. var. dura. The thickness, the water and the oil contents of its tissues are evaluated every two weeks, from pollination to the maturity of the fruit. The development of the oil palm fruit takes 5.5 months. The endocarp reaches its maximum thickness at the 70th DPP (day post-pollination), with a water content of 72%. It then starts its dehydration, while sclerifying. It therefore isolates the seed at start and later protects it. The mesocarp is visible at anthesis and its water content is close to 92%. From the 100th DPP, it begins a continuous dehydration associated, from the 130th DPP, with an active lipids biosynthesis. Ultimately, the pericarp of the oil palm fruit fulfills both functions, namely to protect the seed by early sclerification of the endocarp and ensure the dissemination of the species by the high oil content of the mesocarp. A comparative anatomy of the pericarp tissues of the three genotypes.of E. guineensis Jacq., during the first three weeks of fruit development, will enhance the understanding of the primary effect of sh gene.
文摘The formation cause of orange peel of aluminum-alloy automotive sheet after tensile deformation was analysed by using X-ray diffraction and electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD).The test results showed that formation cause of surface orange peel after tensile deformation related to product texture and nonuniform deformation during the tensile process.The grain size has significant effect on deformation uniform and texture formation.Coarse grains were easy to produce nonuniform deformation and texture,which would produce surface orange peel after tensile deformation.

文摘We present a taxonomic study of taxa of the red algae genus Herposiphonia (Rhodophyta, Rhodomelaceae), collected from the coast of eastern Guangdong, China. We made detailed morphological studies and considered recent taxonomic criteria for species delimitation, and are making the first report of five different species on the coast of Guangdong, including a new species. The species identified were H. caespitosa Tseng, H. hollenbergii Dawson, H. pecten-veneris (Harvey) Falkenberg, H. subdisticha Okamura and H. pinnata Ding and Tan sp. nov. H. pinnata sp. nov. is characterized by bright green thaUi; most parts of the feathery thalli are free of the substratum; determinate branches and indeterminate branches are arranged in a chaotic sequence; the primary axis has bare segments; the determinate branch has 9-11 periaxial cells per segment; vegetative trichoblasts are abundant; and tetrasporangia are formed on the middle of the determinate branch with 1-8 successive segments in a single rectilinear series. This paper is also the first record of sporophyte plants ofH. pecten-veneris.
文摘To identify suitable grass species for growth in the Jianghan Plain,the micromorphologies of the upper and lower epidermis of the leaves of 14 bermudagrass varieties of Cynodon dactylon were investigated,and the number,length,and width of long and short cells and stomata were measured.The results showed that the anticlinal wall of epidermal cells looked like waves and the stoma was distributed in the upper and lower epidermis.However,the various indicators of the leaf epidermis of different species of Cd were significantly different.The length and width of long cells and the length of short cells of Cd Mohawk,Cd Suncity,and wild type Cd were relatively large,which may improve their ability to adapt to the pastoral soil and make them suitable for the rainy environment of the Jianghan Plain.On the contrary,the results of all indicators of Cd Xinnong 1,Cd hulled,and Cd unhulled ranked at the bottom,which was not suitable for pastoral soil habitats,while the wild type Cd could adapt to both the pastoral soil and the vegetation concrete habitat.Moreover,the long cells and short cells of Cd Kashi were tightly arranged,and the stoma in Cd Pyramid and Cd hulled were more dense,which may improve their ability to adapt to an arid environment.
文摘Objective. Report the results of interventional or semi-interventional techniques for 173 patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome.Method. This group included 120 males and 53 females. The pathologic lesions composed of localized complete occlusion of inferior vena cava (IVC) (78), IVC stenosis (49), IVC membrane with a hole (37), membrane of hepatic vein (HV) (3), IVC thrombosis (4), IVC membrane with thrombosis (2) and IVC lesion with occlusion of HV (32). Treatment methods included that I: Percutaneous transinferior vena cava angioplasty (PTA) (76); II: IVC PTA with stent (59); III: Percutaneous transhepatic vein recanalization (3); IV: IVC thrombolysis through a catheter (4); V; Combined transcardiac and trans-femoral venous membranotomy and balloon dilation (22); VI: V and stent (17); VII; Stenting during radical surgery (3); VIII: Additional operation after intervention (23).Results. The immediate technique success rate for intervention was 90.1%, for the semi-intervention was 100%. The IVC pressure was reduced from 3 to 29 cmH20. Complications occurred in 8 cases. The death rate was 2.9%. A follow-up study showed the recurrence rates were 14.5% in IVC PTA group, 1.7% in IVC PTA with stent, 18.2% in combined technique without stent and no recurrence was found in other groups.Conclusion. The PTA is the first choice for localized lesions. When elastic recoil occurs, immediate stenting is suggested. The semi-interventional approach is advised for PTA failure and more complicated cases. For those with both IVC lesion and occlusion of HV, the additional operation is needed after IVC intervention.
文摘Objective: To observe the effects of the new technique of flexible 3D-conformal radiotherapy with combination of photon and electron (3DCRT) in the treatment of the patients with diffuse malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM), and carry out the comparative study between flexible 3DCRT and hemithoracic conventional radiotherapy (CRT). Methods: From January 2004 to October 2007, 8 patients with MPM were treated with flexible 3DCRT. 5 patients had received cycles of chemotherapy before radiation. New technique of flexible 3DCRT with combination of photon and electron was used in our study, and DT 32.2-64 Gy with conventional split were delivered. CRT technique was mimicked to compare with 3DCRT technique to predict the possibility of lung damage in two methods. Results: One patient reached CR and other 7 patients got PR after radiation. Two patients died during the follow-up. The median survival time (MST) was 15.4 months and it was 18.8 months for sequential chemotherapy and radiotherapy group and 9.7 months for radiotherapy alone group. The V20, V30, and ipsilateral and contralateral median lung dosage (MLD) were 20.5%, 15.6%, 18.8 Gy and 2.2 Gy respectively when the flexible 3DCRT technique was used, whereas they were 36.8%, 27.9%, 31.1 Gy and 1.2 Gy respectively when the CRT technique was used. They were statistically different for the lung V20, V30 and ipsilateral MLD between the two techniques (P 〈 0.01), whereas there was no different for the contralateral MLD (P = 0.08). All patients received radiation were found to have lung fibrosis and classified as grades 1-2 radiation pneumonitis. The quality of life was increased from score 2.83 to 3.76 and it was significantly different (P 〈 0.01). Conclusion: MPM is moderately sensitive to radiation. The flexible 3DCRT technique is feasible in the treatment of MPM and lung damage is reduced apparently comparing with the CRT technique. The quality of life of patients with MPM is improved after irradiation.

To review our preliminary experience and evaluate our early results of a combined intraoperative iliac angioplasty and stenting with infrainguinal revascularization in multilevel atherosclerotic occlusive disease. Methods. From July 1999 to April 2000, intraoperative iliac angioplasty and stenting combined with simultaneous femoro- popliteal bypass were performed on 12 lower extremities of 10 patients suffering from multilevel atherosclerotic occlusive disease. There were 8 men and 2 women, average 72 years. The indications for procedures included disabling claudication in 3 and rest pain in 7 patients. Results. Eleven iliac angioplasty and stent procedures combined with simultaneous 9 femoro- popliteal bypass and 3 femoro- femoral- popliteal bypass were performed in 12 limbs of 10 patients. Angioplasty and stent placement was technically successful in all patients. One contralateral femoral- popliteal bypass was failure after femorofemoral- popliteal bypass. There were no additional instances of procedural or postoperative morbidity or mortali- ty. Mean follow- up was 5 months (range 1~ 10 months). During the follow- up period, one femoro- infrapopliteal graft became occluded after 7 months and above- knee amputation was required. The cumulative primary patency rate of stented iliac arteries, femoro- femoral bypass grafts and femoro- popliteal bypass grafts were 100% (11/11), 100% (3/3) and 90.9% (10/11) in the follow- up period, respectively. The amputation rate was 8.3% (1/12). Conclusions. Intraoperative iliac artery PTA and stent placement can be safely and effectively performed simultaneously with infrainguinal revascularization for multilevel atherosclerotic occlusive disease by skilled vascular surgeon, using a portable C arm fluoroscopy in the operating room. Furthermore, iliac artery PTA and stenting was valuable adjunct to distal bypass either to improve inflow and outflow, or to reduce the extent of traditional surgical intervention, and also, any angioplasty and stenting- related complications can be immediately corrected as well.
文摘Objective. To investigate the treatment of corneal epithelial ingrowth with flap melt after LASIK. Patients and method. Thirteen eyes of 13 patients with corneal epithelial ingrowth and flap melt after LASIK were treated based on the thickness and the extent of melting of the flap. Nine eyes were treated by lifting the flap and scraping the epithelium in the interface. Three eyes underwent allogenic keratomileusis. The flap was removed in one eye. Results. Recurrence occurred in 2 eyes treated by lifting the flap. The flaps, however, healed normally after retreatment. The grafts healed normally in the allogenic keratomileusis group, except for one eye in which the flap was lost. The corneal epithelium healed over the stromal bed after the flap was removed. Corneal haze of grade 2 was present at 6 months. The uncorrected visual acuity was between 0.3 and 1.0, and the best corrected visual acuity lost 1 to 3 lines. Conclusions. Corneal epithelial ingrowth with flap melt is a severe complication after LASIK. However, with proper treatment, vision can be salvaged in most cases.
