In order to overcome the wide crack of ordinary reinforced concrete (RC) at service stage which affects the service performance and durability of structures,a kind of concrete structure with skin textile reinforcement...In order to overcome the wide crack of ordinary reinforced concrete (RC) at service stage which affects the service performance and durability of structures,a kind of concrete structure with skin textile reinforcement is proposed,namely a part of concrete cover of RC members is replaced by textile reinforced concrete (TRC).The flexural experimental results indicate that when the reinforcement ratios of steel bars are constant,compared with control beams,the average value of crack loads of the beams,whose reinforcement ratios of textile are 0.018%,0.036% and 0.055%,increases by 15.5%,20.4% and 31.1%,respectively,the average value of yield loads respectively increases by 12.5%,19.9% and 21.1% and the average value of ultimate loads respectively increases by 8.5%,26.0% and 44.0%,respectively.Considerable reduction in cracks width and spacing is observed for specimens with a TRC layer,and when the beams yield,the maximum crack width of the beam with textile stuck no sand and the beam with textile stuck sand is reduced by around 60% and 70%,respectively.Surface treatment of textile and mixing polypropylene fiber into fine grained concrete contribute to enhance the service performance of the flexural element.Embedding U-shaped hoop has almost no effect on the control of the crack width.Finally,the calculation method of ultimate bearing capacity of this flexural component with TRC layer was presented.Comparison between the calculated and the experimental values reveals satisfactory agreement,and the maximum error is no more than 6%.展开更多

A major by-produc...The phenc, lic compounds found in mango fruit are antioxidants, and contribute to a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Mango carotenoids are synthesized in mango fruit during ripening. A major by-product of mango fruit is the skin, which is available after the fruits is consumed or used, particularly in the preparation of jams and fruit juices by the fruit canning industry. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary mango skin (MS) or mango skin combined with paprika extracts (PE) on production performance, egg quality, and egg yolk polyphenols. Total of 60 44-week-old Boris Brown hens was assigned, based on egg production rate and body weight, to 6 groups (10 birds in each group). The laying hens were fed a basal diet (control group, 18 CP, 2,800 kcal/kg ME), a basal diet supplemented with 0.1% PE, 1% or 5% MS, or with a mixture of 0.1% PE with 1% or 5% MS respectively. During the three-week experimental feeding period, the birds had free access to feed and water. Feed consumption was measured weekly and egg production was recorded daily. The results for initial body weight, feed consumption, hen-day production, egg mass, mortality, and final body weight did not indicate any effects of the different treatments (P 〉 0.05). There were no significant differences (P 〉 0.05) in shell-breaking strength, shell thickness, shell ratio, yolk ratio or Haugh units, except in the case of egg yolk color. Roche yolk color fan scores were better in all experimental groups than in the control (P 〈 0.0001). The yolk color, yellow index, and ratio of redness to yellowness were greater (P 〈 0.0001) in the 0.1% PE, the 0.1% PE + 1% MS, and the 0.1% PE + 5% MS group than in the 1%, 5% MS, and control groups. Compared with the control, lightness was decreased significantly in the 0.1% PE, the 0.1% PE + 1% MS, and the 0.1% PE + 5% MS groups (P 〈 0.05), whereas redness was increased significantly in the 0.1% PE, 0.1% PE + 1% MS, and 0.1% PE + 5% MS groups (P 〈 0.0001). No significant differences among the treatments were observed in either yellowness or egg yolk polyphenols. The equipment test resul...An equipment test and sensory evaluation were conducted to identify the compatibility and sensory characteristics of HEC in facial masks. These results were then compared to xanthan gum usage. The equipment test results showed that HEC promoted proper tensile capacity in masks which are made from strong structured fabrics such as medium thick, thick and cross woven & homogenous thin mask fabrics. HEC was found to be more compatible with mask fabrics than xanthan gum. HEC improved mask softness and dampness and had an improved water binding and water retention ability compared to xanthan gum. The split face sensory evaluation results demonstrated that sheet masks containing HEC had improved adhesion and lubricity, provided more moisture to the skin, better elasticity and gloss after use and took longer to dry out. Overall, the panel preferred facial masks which contain HEC.展开更多

Then the double blind spilt-face clinical test on 35 Asian people (18 male and 17 female) was conducted to evaluate the whitening and anti-wrinkle effect. The qPCR test showed that hexapeptide-2 can decrease miR-29 expression for human fibroblast of different age (P 〈 0.05); and the result on human melanocyte showed that it can increase miR-218 expression (P 〈 0.05). Immunostaining results showed that it can increase the expression of collagen I and III significantly (P 〈 0.05). The double blind split - face test showed that 1% hexapeptide-2 displays significant efficacy for skin whitening, spots lightening, skin erythema and skin dullness improvement, as well as skin wrinkles reduction as comparing with that from the placebo side (P 〈 0.05).展开更多
