First, the relationship between pseudo-Zernike moments of the original image and those of the image having the same shape but distinct orientation and scale is established. Based on this relationship, a complete set of similarity invariants can be expressed as a linear combination of the original pseudo-Zernike moments of the same order and lower order. The problem of image reconstruction from a finite set of the pseudo-Zernike moment invariants (PZMIs) is also investigated. Experimental results show that the proposed PZMIs have better performance than complex moment invariants.展开更多

This method is applied to two types of chaotic dynamic systems(Lorenz and Rssler) to examine the anti-noise ability for complex systems. Results show that the nonlinear dynamic system analysis method resists noise and reveals the internal dynamics of a weak signal from noise pollution. On this basis, the vertical upward gas–liquid two-phase flow in a 2 mm × 0.81 mm small rectangular channel is investigated. The frequency and energy distributions of the main oscillation mode are revealed by analyzing the time–frequency spectra of the pressure signals of different flow patterns. The positive power spectral density of singular-value frequency entropy and the damping ratio are extracted to characterize the evolution of flow patterns and achieve accurate recognition of different vertical upward gas–liquid flow patterns(bubbly flow:100%, slug flow: 92%, churn flow: 96%, annular flow: 100%). The proposed analysis method will enrich the dynamics theory of multi-phase flow in small channel.展开更多

The above collective behavior is likely resulted from interelectron correlations, characteristic for strongly correlated systems containing atoms with unoccupied 3d-, 4f- and 5f- shells. Among such systems can be the heterospin systems, complexes of paramagnetic ions of transition metals with organic radicals, because for such objects, spin-spin interaction between unpaired electron spins of different paramagnetic centers is typical. To apply the aforementioned possibility for the organization of real quantum calculations, it is necessary to synthesize such paramagnetic molecules (paramagnetic clusters), where the entangled states will be realized naturally by self-organization of atoms incorporated in these molecules, i.e., without additional external effect of q-bits on the system. The specified self-organization may be due to intramolecular processes and, in particular, intramolecular rearrangement called valence tautomerism, which leads to heterogeneous magnetic states, i.e., to phase layering in paramagnetic cluster owing to interelectron correlations. The states realized during the phase layering can be used for coding the digits. Since such states correspond to specific structures of para-magnetic molecule, they can exist as much as long under certain conditions. In turn, it means that the account of the interelectron correlations, which take place in strongly correlated compounds, allows (at least, in principle) one to create elementary quantum bit of the information capable of modeling the elementary logical operations. Creation of a network of such quantum bits combined in a certain sequence should be considered as a practical step on a way to experimental realization of the idea of quantum computer creation. The group consisting of three quantum points can make the basis of quantum computer. In such a gate, quantum points can be connected via the interaction modeled by spin-spin interaction, characteristic for ABX system in NMR spectroscopy. The tunnel effect, which can be easily realized and controlled, can act as an indicator of bonding in such a block. The calculation procedure can be organized assuming that the initial state of the group corresponds to 1. Infringement of such a state indicates to zero (or, on the contrary). Thus, the calculation in the binary system becomes organized. The creation of a network on the basis of combination of such processors in certain sequence should be considered as a practical step on a way to experimental realization of the idea of the quantum computer creation.展开更多

We propose and study the phase transition behavior of the probability P(K) of unique reconstruction with regard to tuple size K in random sequences (iid model). Based on Monte Carlo experiments, artificial proteins generated from lid model exhibit a phase transition when P(K) abruptly jumps from a low value phase (e.g. 〈 0.1) to a high value phase (e.g. 〉 0.9). With a generalization to any alphabet, we prove that for a random sequence of length L, as L is large enough, P(K) undergoes a sharp phase transition when p ≤ 0.1015 where p = P (two random letters match). Besides, formulas are derived to estimate the transition points, which may be of practical use in sequencing DNA by hybridization. Concluded from our study, most proteins do not deviate greatly from random sequences in the sense of sequence unique reconstruction, while there are some "stubborn" proteins which only become uniquely reconstructable at a very large K and probably have biological implications.展开更多

Based on the fact that every centrohermitian matrix can be reduced to a real matrix by a simple similarity transformation, the authors first consider the eigenstructure of hermitian Toeplitz matrices and then discuss a related reconstruction problem. The authors show that the dimension of the subspace of hermitian Toeplitz matrices with two given eigenvectors is at least two and independent of the size of the matrix, and the solution of the reconstruction problem of an hermitian Toeplitz matrix with two given eigenpairs is unique.展开更多

This means fewer measurements of signal are needed and thus it will save huge amount of time and storage space. We, in this paper, consider the compressed sensing of sparse integer-valued signal (referred as "q-states signal" throughout the paper). In order to accelerate the speed of reconstruction, we adopt the sparse rather than dense measurement matrices. Using methods and tools developed in statistical physics, we locate the reconstruction limit for Lo-reconstruction method and propose a belief propagation- based algorithm that can deal with instance with large size and its typical reconstruction performance are also analyzed.展开更多
